Elena Moore
Elena sat rooted to the floor, without moving, she did not say a word to her friends.
She did not answer them or even look at them.
Everything she had built was crumbling before her and she could do nothing.
Seconds past, minutes past and then she finally stood up, with shaking legs.
Elena, Lucia called, where are you going.
She walk past her friends, ignoring their call.
Her chest rose as she opened the door to her room and stepped inside, her hands was trembling as she closed it behind her, and leaned against it.
As if that will shut the entire world from, tearing her down apart.
On the other side she could hear her them shouting and pleading for her to come outside but she did not move.
Her legs gave up on her and the next thing she was sliding down the door until she was now sitting on the floor, her back resting against the wooden door.
It first started with a silent sob.
And then she bursted.
Why, why would anyone do this to me.
She screamed her voice hoarse.
Her hand moved searching for something anything to grip.
Her hands grabbed the first thing she could reach, a photo frame that a fan had gifted her.
Without thinking she slammed it on the floor. The glass shattering into pieces.
Next was the lamp she had collected as sovernier on her trip to china.
Bang!!
It was on the floor.
She did not care what she broke, she just kept going.
She grabbed at her books, anything she could lay her hands on.
One after the other they were in the floor.
Her vision blurry, bug she kept going without stopping.
She grabbed her bottles of perfume that were neatly arranged on her dresser, and threw them against the wall.
She grabbed her Pillows and threw it against the wall.
When there was nothing else for her to throw, she sank to the floor, her hands wrapped around her knees, letting her forehead rest against them.
Even after destroying everything she still could not forget the look on his face.
And just like that the memories came back flooding.
She remembered the very first time she met Ethan.
It was in college long before her career had started. Before her face was put on those billboards, They we're friends for four years before going into a relationship.
She remembered the way he sat at the back of the lecture halls, his smile always distracting her, making her forget what the lecturer had said.
The way he had always sneaked snacks into the library, when they were studying late.
He was the first person who ever supported her acting career even before her parents did.
She remembered their late night calls, his whispered promises.
As tears slid down her cheeks.
Elena closed her eyes, and there he was sitting on the grass in his department in the university, looking into her eyes as if she was the only girl that mattered in the world.
Please stop she begged.
But the memories kept coming.
Her hand went to her trembling lips, as if trying to bring herself together.
Five years of protecting him from the press and this is what she gets.
She remembered how she had stared at the ring she had brought, thinking it was forever.
But forever ended even before it begun.
She could not shake off his voice, that kept echoing in her head.
He got someone pregnant, just like that, no remorse nothing. The worse part he had throw the ring she bought on the ground.
Ahhhhhhhhh
She screamed
Her career could go down the drain but she cannot function without him.
Her whole life was a mess without him.
Why would anyone do this to me?.
On the other side of the door, her friends Lucia, lilo and Hannah panicked.
Elena please open the door, talk to us Hannah cried.
Do not do this to yourself, Lucia said with concern, her fist still banging on the door.
Do not hurt yourself, we will find a way to fix this you can trust us Lucia said defeated.
Elena hardly heard them, not when her heart had shattered.
In less than 24 hours she did not only loose Ethan, she was also going to loose her career.
Her career that she had worked so hard to build, so hard to protect.
She placed both hands in her ears, as she fell to the floor.
No no
No one can fix what had already been damaged.
It's over she whispered to her self between sobs.
Her friends voice became louder, the banging did not stop either.
But after about 30 minutes without hearing anything from Elena the banging slowed down and finally stopped.
Elena was left alone.
She sat in the dim light, hugging her knees as if she could put herself together.
Elena did not know how long she stayed in that position but suddenly she heard a little scrapping sound.
She looked at the door, her eyes swollen, face stained with tears.
There was a tiny space beneath the door to her room, and through the space her friends had pushed a plate towards her, containing her favorite food.
Please Lena, Lucia pleaded. At least try to eat something, even if it's a tiny bit. We would not leave We will stay right here with you. And get it through.
Elena stared at the food. The smell almost making her throw up.
How could she eat when her entire world had crumbled right in front of her.
She reached out for the food, and then shoved it to the side. The plate hit the floor, sending the food flying.
I do not want it!!
She cried.
I do not need anything she whispered.
Her friends were silent, the only thing they could do was sit outside her door helplessly.
After a while Elena let her hand fall to her side.
Her body felt tired, she felt drained of the fire that made her start breaking things.
For the first time in a long time, Elena felt exposed, she did not have a shield, she did not have a mask, she did not even have words.
There was only her alone with everything she can not control.
After some time Elena laid on the cold floor. She laid there on the floor surrounded by debris of anger.
After a while her breath slowed, and the mess she had made blurred in her vision.
And just like that sleep enculfed her.
