Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 – The Wedding Under Two Moons

Year 11 – Winter, The Elven Sanctum

The sky over the Reflected Realm was divided between crimson and silver—two moons locked in orbit above a new creation. Their light poured through the mirrored canopy of the Elven Sanctum, setting the entire world aglow.

It was the night the Blood Jarl and the Elf Goddess would unite before gods, mortals, and reflections alike.

Beneath the mirrored roots, the Sanctum of Silver and Blood had been transformed into a cathedral that bridged both realms. Floating lanterns drifted between the trees, their flames tinted gold and rose. Rivers of bloodlight met streams of aether, converging into a single glowing pool at the altar's base.

Rosa, clad in a sleek dress woven from the feathers of Hel's Valkyr, leaned against a crimson pillar with a knowing smirk.

"I still can't believe he's doing this."

Luminous, standing beside her in pale silk and gold, adjusted her monocle, ever the strategist.

"Marriage stabilizes divine economics. Love is optional."Rosa chuckled. "You'd turn a honeymoon into a ledger.""Someone has to."

The Procession

The music began softly—flutes of silver and low drums made from mirrored crystal.Elves and humans gathered together for the first time in history: assassins beside druids, merchants beside mages, their banners fluttering in the mixed light of two worlds.

From the grand archway of roots stepped Cartethyia, the Elf Goddess of Renewal. Her rose-blonde hair shimmered beneath her red crystalline crown, each petal glowing faintly with divine fire. Her gown, woven from the essence of dawn, flowed like living silk—half white, half scarlet, the seam pulsing faintly like a heartbeat.

When she walked, flowers bloomed behind her, silver vines curling over the marble roots.

Across the altar stood Ketsuraku Van Helsing, the River Jarl, wearing ceremonial armor of bloodsteel and void-glass. The mark of Ix burned faintly over his heart, mirrored by Hel's rune along his left wrist.

As she reached him, the two moons aligned—one red, one silver—and the sky itself became their witness.

The Vows of Reflection

They faced one another beneath the mirror-tree, which now towered over both realms. Its branches reached through the sky, connecting the Reflected Realm and Alfheim into one living cosmos.

Hel appeared first among the guests, cloaked in shadowfire, smiling with half her perfect face and half her ruin.Ix followed, his form flickering between shadow and jest, his cane tapping against invisible ground.

The goddess of death and the Aeon of Nihility both bowed slightly—acknowledging not mortals, but creators.

Cartethyia spoke first, voice resonating like music over water:

"In life, I tended the roots of the world. In death, I watched them wither. But in your blood, I saw life again."

Ketsuraku replied, his tone steady, almost solemn:

"I came from death and traded in chaos. Yet in your light, I found purpose worth more than conquest."

They clasped hands. Blood flowed from his palm, light from hers. The two merged into a single stream—crimson and silver, twining together and spiraling upward.

"Let reflection remember this," Ix murmured."Let the dead sing it forever," Hel finished, smiling.

The Binding

The mirror-tree responded. Roots of light coiled around their wrists, forming a living chain of petals and veins. From its crown fell two glowing fragments—one red, one white. They hovered between the couple before merging into a single gem: the Heart of Reflection.

Cartethyia lifted it. "Two realms, one seed."Ketsuraku nodded. "Two gods, one empire."

The gem dissolved into light, embedding itself between them.

The Feast of Realms

As the ritual completed, the cathedral doors opened to celebration.Hel raised a cup of frostfire wine. "To the Jarl who sold death to life, and the goddess who bought eternity."Ix laughed, spinning his cane. "To reflection—it never lies, but always sells."

Rosa and Luminous joined them, each toasting in their own way—Rosa with smug satisfaction, Luminous calculating how many markets would open from divine marriage.

Outside, fireworks of light and blood bloomed across both skies.Elves and humans danced side by side, singing songs that had never been heard before. The air trembled with joy, and the river itself rose in mist to kiss the tree's mirrored leaves.

Cartethyia leaned close, her gray eyes glinting.

"This empire will outlive us.""Then we'll just build more," he said with a grin.

The Omen

As the feast waned, the moons dimmed.Only Ketsuraku noticed the faint shadow crawling across the mirrored sky—an outline of fire devouring reflection.

Ix's laughter faded. His cane struck the ground once.

"Nanook watches."

Hel's perfect eye gleamed red. "Let him. The living must burn before they bloom."

The Jarl looked to his queen. "Then we bloom brighter."
