Chapter 35 - Final Chapter — All Rivers Return to One

The world was quiet again.

The rivers had stopped screaming. The sky above the World Tree shimmered, its branches heavy with light. The stars were no longer stars but windows—millions of eyes watching a universe remembering itself.

In the hollow at the Tree's roots, six children sat in a circle. Their small bodies were still, their faces calm. Between them, a sigil had been drawn in blood and gold: six interlocking lines that met in the shape of a single eye. Around it burned six candles.

The first flame was crimson—Blood. The second, pale blue—Void. The third, silver—Illusion. The fourth, white—Reflection. The fifth, green—Life. The last, black-violet—Death.

Each candle whispered a different memory. The sound of laughter from a forgotten academy. The clang of hammers in a city of smiths. The echo of a dragon's cry over crimson seas. The heartbeat of a god.

Above them floated the River of Blood, now transparent as glass, winding upward into the night like a ribbon of living light. Within it, the stars themselves drifted—souls returning home.

The eldest child, a boy with white hair and red eyes, opened his mouth. His voice was soft, yet it carried across worlds.

"We are one mind."

The second child, her golden hair aglow with candlelight, continued.

"One heart."

The others joined in, their voices blending until there was no single source, only harmony.

"We remember what we were. We forgive what we became. We begin again."

The sigil beneath them flared. The candles burned brighter for a single breath, their flames twisting together into a spiral that reached the sky.

In that light stood a shadow—a tall figure with a scythe of red code, smiling like a jester who had finally finished his performance.

Ix.

He bowed once to the children, the gesture of an actor leaving the stage.

"The mirror is clean," he said. "It's yours now."

Then he was gone.

One by one, the candles went out.

First Blood. Then Void. Then Illusion, Reflection, Life, and Death.

Each extinguished flame sent a pulse through the world—oceans calmed, storms fell silent, even the wind stopped to listen. When the last candle died, darkness took the chamber.

And in that darkness, a single heartbeat echoed. Not of one being, but of all.

The River of Blood folded into itself, forming a sphere of light that rose through the roots of the Tree and vanished into the heavens.

Silence.

Then, a child's voice—somewhere, sometime—softly laughing.A new dawn breaking over a different world.The cycle beginning once more.

Epilogue Line

All rivers return to the Source. All souls return to One. And from One, the dream begins again.

"Somewhere in that shared breath, a memory smiled—the man who once bled to save two girls."
