Isabella's POV
His grip tightened just a fraction, just enough to show he could take all of my breath away if he wanted, and kill me on the spot. From his personality, I get these vibes that if he wanted to kill me, he could do it easily and could also discard my body somewhere where I'd never be found. But he didn't want to do that. And you don't get such vibes from anyone, which meant there might be some truth to my intuition.
"If you push me," he continued, "if you try to run from me again, I swear I will kidnap you. I will lock you somewhere no one will ever find you." His mouth hovered an inch from mine. "An abandoned island, if that's what it takes for you to finally understand."
My knees nearly gave out. I knew it, he didn't sound like a normal human. No one even threatens you like this if they don't have the guts to do so.
"Nikolai-"
His eyes were wild and human and monstrous all at once. He cut me off, voice deep and dangerous as if he was restraining himself.
