Lena pressed her chest against Adrian, her blond hair loose around her shoulders and her skin still sun-kissed from her vacation in Bali. She grinned up at him, eyes bright and sugary.
"You don't have to answer that. I know you missed me," she said, giving a little sashay of her hips as she walked deeper into the room.
"How was the flight?" Adrian asked, loosening his tie.
"Peaceful. Thank God your mother left earlier," Lena muttered. "I do not know why she still hates me." She did not wait for his response. "Can you imagine? She kept trying to boss me around at the resort, commenting on everything, even my spending. Meanwhile I am just trying to grow her grandchild."
She cupped his face with both hands, her smile stretching wide. "Our baby boy."
Then she brushed past him again, already moving on. "But I feel great now. The vacation helped. I cannot wait to be back at work on Monday. I have to turn on my phone and hear all the gossip from my girlfriends."
