Kairos's face transformed. Slowly at first, like he couldn't quite process what he'd heard. Disbelief flickered across his features—eyes widening, mouth parting slightly. Then understanding crashed through, and with it came hope so fierce it was almost painful to witness. Joy followed, breaking across his expression like sunrise. And finally, relief so profound his knees nearly buckled.
"You—" His voice cracked. "Did you just say yes?"
"Yes." Stronger this time. More certain. "I'll marry you."
"You mean it?" He hadn't moved yet, still frozen in that moment of disbelief. "You're choosing this? Choosing us?"
