Chapter 7 - <Desire System>

Golden rays of sunlight filtered through blinds, bathing the room in a soft glow. Rays of light continued to descend until they fell on the unconscious face of Klaus, his locs spread out on the bed.

When Klaus fell asleep last night, it was still 7 pm; now it was 6 am, and he was still sleeping soundly. He shifted around in the bed, his body unconsciously turning away from the window, and exhaled.

"What time is it?" He groaned, feeling around the bed for his cellphone. His fingers swept by something smooth and cool, then did a double-take.

His phone turned on as he picked it up from the bed and unlocked once it recognized his face.

7:06

"Ugh." His arm went limp, falling back onto the bed. A tired groan escaped his lips. He lied on the bed for a few more minutes before dragging himself off the bed.

The room—now being warm—welcomed him, unlike what would've happened if it were the same temperature as the night prior. Despite the room being cozy, the cool wooden floorboards still sent a jolt up his leg with every step.

'I should invest in some bedside slippers. Just something basic should do,' Klaus yawned.

He fumbled for the door handle—finally grabbing it—pulled it open, and walked across the hall to the bathroom.

Upon entering the bathroom, Klaus stared into the mirror. His reflection stared back at him from his crusty eyes.

Just as he was reaching for his toothbrush, a voice chimed directly into his mind.

Klaus's movements came to a halt, and he stood there, motionless. His expression was unreadable, but a moment later, when an ethereal dark purple screen materialized in front of him, it became one of disbelief. Then that disbelief turned to confusion, then to dismissal.

"The medication Dr. Smith gave me must be pretty strong." He closed his eyes and rubbed them, expecting the screen to disappear once he opened them. However, that wasn't the case; the screen was still there, its violet glow illuminating the room. Though if another person were to look, the room would appear to be normal, except for Klaus staring at the mirror, as if he had heard there was going to be a season four of 'A Series of Unfortunate Events'.

Klaus stared at the screen, subtle excitement bordering his pupils. Then there was the voice again.

"Desire..." he muttered.

"Please continue," he said with yearning to hear more.

Being someone who reads more books and stories in a year than many do in their lifetime, he often came across the 'system' category. After reading a few novels and such, he wouldn't put it in his top three, but it definitely earned its spot in his top ten—maybe five.

Klaus came to accept the situation quickly, eager to hear more.

Its youthful yet mature voice replied.

"Is there a cap on my desire limit?" Klaus curiously questioned. "If there is, what is it?"

It responded.

Klaus nodded.

"Another question." Klaus pointed out, "Similar to my previous one, do my stats have a limit?" He refrained from asking the limit; instead, he waited for an answer.

Its voice still carried the same tone, a warning and a reminder not to push the world's boundaries.

Klaus chuckled. His previous worries were washed away.

"You too?" Klaus asked, picking up the pun.

Klaus perked up instantly. "Can I buy superpowers?"

His excitement dampened. "Can I buy magic or magical tools?"

Its voice now visibly lower.

"What about some mecha robot?" he asked, half expectantly, half not.

Confirming his latter expectation, the voice replied.

Its voice was barely louder than a whisper; the only reason he was able to hear it was because it was in his head.

"So what can I buy?" he asked. Not arrogant or berating, but genuinely confused. After all, not being able to have superpowers didn't take away the fact that he still had an amazing system that gave him something close to that.

Klaus processed the information, his face calm and serene.

"Wait, you never told me how to acquire DP; you mentioned I can level up through quests, but that was it."

If it were possible to see the actual face of the interface, Klaus would've noticed a slight mischievous smirk on its lips—similar to Cleo's.

'Speaking of that minx.' Just thinking about last night's misadventure gained him a semi hard-on that pitched a small tent in his pjs.

'What do you- oh. OH!' Blood flushed his face, the realization dawning on him. Earlier, he had thought that the part about sleeping with hundreds of women was a joke, but that didn't seem to be the case. "I need to have sex in order to get DP? Actually?" He clarified.

Klaus smiled, already having uses for it.

The last part slightly bummed him out, but everything else made up for it many times over.

"Why me?" he inquired. "Of the billions of people on Mother Earth, why was I picked?"

Klaus thought about it for a few seconds, then shook his head.

"I'd rather think I'm special," He smiled. "One last thing, can you show me a briefed version of the information?"

The voice rang out with certainty.

Desire (Level) refers to your desirability.

EXP (Experience Points) should be self-explanatory. If you're not familiar with it, it refers to how close you are to your next level up.

DP (Desire Points) is the system's own currency used to increase stats, increase skill levels, and purchase items from the shop.

Stats are divided into two locations. 'Body' and 'Performance.'

'Body'

Height: Your height—written in centimeters.

Muscle Mass: Your muscle mass and density. It increases power, but by a negligible amount.

Power: Increases strength potency but not muscle mass.

Agility: Increases speed, reflex, and flexibility.

Mind: Includes focus, quick thinking, brain processing, perception, and control over the body.

'Performance'

Length refers to your penis length.

Girth refers to the girth of your penis.

Libido refers to your sexual drive, how long you can last in bed before ejaculating, and recovery speed. So, basically, your general stamina and more.

Pleasure refers to how well you can satisfy a woman in or out of bed. Increases the natural allure of your semen, taste of semen, feel of cock, and everything related.

Charisma refers to your ability to attract and influence others through your charm—men and women alike. Increases all social and emotional aspects, including confidence.

Temptation—unlike 'Charisma'— is seduction that focuses on the ability to persuade or entice a member of the opposite sex to engage in sexual activity. Includes seducing, teasing, domination, and corruption.

'Quests'

It offers a random daily quest, and the same applies to the weekly quest. In certain situations, it will give a quest corresponding to said situation. You are also able to choose your own quests, but there is only a limited amount before they need to refresh again. Every month includes 50 selectable quests.

'Shop'

The shop contains a limited amount of items that increase with every increase in your Desire, but that doesn't include skills. Though they are all unlocked, even the cheapest one is pricey.

'Skills'

A tab of all your skills, bought or achieved through your own effort. Through this tab, you can view and enhance your skills, but at the cost of DP.

'Inventory'

All system items purchased from the shop initially appear here. With a simple thought, you can either bring it out into your hand or within a 3x3x3 meter radius of your body. All items provided by the system or purchased in the shop can be freely moved in and out. However, to store items from outside sources, 'DP' must be used as a mediator.
