Chapter 33 - C33

Although Kakashi wanted to continue talking with Yoruha, he knew the boy needed rest.

So he said, "Get some proper rest first. When you've recovered, then resume training."

Yoruha nodded.

Without another word, Kakashi disappeared from the room.

Only when he could no longer sense Kakashi's chakra did Yoruha finally exhale in relief.

He looked down at his hands, frowning.

"What's going on exactly?"

"Even with such precise control, I still lost it… This chakra inside me really is strange."

After a while, Yoruha slowly began gathering chakra into his hands.

In moments, the chakra materialized—condensing visibly around them.

But unlike before, it wasn't blue.

This time, Yoruha's chakra was golden.

The sight left him even more astonished.

"So my chakra really is different from other people's. Could this be what Kakashi meant by Senjutsu Chakra?"

"But Senjutsu Chakra is supposed to be blue, isn't it?"

"And this heavy feeling… it's far stronger than ordinary chakra."

Yoruha found himself becoming unfamiliar with his own power.

"And my chakra control should be excellent. How did it spiral out of control last night?"

He couldn't make sense of it at all.

"This system of mine is way too mechanical… I can't even ask it questions. Looks like I'll have to figure this out myself."

Meanwhile, after leaving Yoruha's home, Kakashi went to find Kimoto Tōichi.

When Kimoto heard that the massive disturbance last night had been caused by Yoruha, he froze.

"It was really Yoruha?"

He couldn't believe it.

Even though he knew Yoruha was gifted, the scale of that event was beyond anything he could imagine—something even he couldn't have accomplished.

No matter how strong Yoruha was, there was no way someone his age could cause destruction on par with a Tailed Beast Bomb explosion.

But Kakashi simply nodded, confirming it was true.

Kimoto's mind was in turmoil.

"Just what is going on with Yoruha?"

It was completely beyond his comprehension.

He had thought the chaos last night was caused by Naruto losing control.

Although the Third Hokage had publicly claimed it was an ANBU experiment gone wrong, most of the jōnin in Konoha already had a general idea of what had happened.

Almost all of them believed that the Nine-Tails had gone berserk.

The Hokage had sealed off information only to protect Naruto.

After all, as a jinchūriki, Naruto was already hated by many in the village.

If the villagers learned that the explosion had been caused by one of Naruto's rampages, they might turn on him completely.

Such things had happened to many jinchūriki before.

For instance, Killer Bee had even been assassinated by people from his own village.

Compared to that, Naruto's treatment was far better.

No one threw eggs at him.

No one tried to kill him.

They merely kept their distance.

But it was important to remember that during the Nine-Tails' attack years ago, many villagers had lost their families.

And since Naruto carried the Nine-Tails within him, in their eyes, he was the Nine-Tails—the very creature that had taken their loved ones.

Even so, Naruto still had friends: Shikamaru, Choji, Shino, and Kiba—the kind of friends who would even skip class with him.

Even Teuchi and Ayame from Ichiraku Ramen bore him no ill will.

Compared to Killer Bee, Naruto's life was almost normal.

But if the villagers ever found out that Naruto had gone on a rampage, then no matter how much the Third tried to protect him, they would never accept him again.

After all, who would want to live near a walking bomb that could explode at any moment?

They'd likely demand that the Hokage imprison Naruto.

And even if the villagers learned that he was the Fourth Hokage's son, it wouldn't change a thing.

After all, Minato Namikaze had only served as Hokage for a few short years, and his standing among the people wasn't that high—despite being the hero who had saved the village.

But no matter how heroic he was, his son was a potential killing machine who could lose control and slaughter countless people without warning.

In such a situation, even being the son of a hero wouldn't make anyone willing to gamble their life.

That was why the jōnin of Konoha believed the Third had deliberately suppressed the truth—to prevent panic among the people.

But who could have imagined that the one responsible for last night's chaos was his own student?

Kimoto's mind couldn't process it.

And deep down, he felt panic rising.

"Who else knows about this?" he asked urgently.

What he feared most was that word of Yoruha's power would spread.

If others found out, Yoruha would likely face the same treatment as Naruto—or worse.

Kakashi hesitated for a moment before answering,

"Only the Third Hokage and I know."

Kimoto's eyes widened.

"You told the Third Hokage?"

His voice rose in anger.

He knew exactly what it meant for the Hokage to have that information—and what kind of fate might await Yoruha because of it.

He almost lashed out at Kakashi on the spot.

Kakashi quickly explained,

"Don't worry. The Hokage didn't take him away. In fact, he values Yoruha's potential highly. There's no need to be so alarmed."

But Kimoto wasn't convinced.

"You know as well as I do how unreliable the Hokage's promises can be."

As a member of the ANBU, Kimoto had seen enough of the darkness within Konoha to know better.

Kakashi sighed helplessly.

"In that situation, what else could I have done? Do you really think keeping it secret would've helped Yoruha?"

"If I hadn't told him, and the Third discovered it himself, Yoruha would've spent the rest of his life under ANBU surveillance."

"Right now, the only way to protect him is to help him master that power as soon as possible—so he can defend himself."

"If the Hokage sees his value, then Yoruha will be allowed to live under the light, not in the shadows."

Kakashi's voice grew intense.

Normally, he was calm and composed.

But whenever the subject was Yoruha, his emotions ran deep.

Kimoto fell silent.

He knew Kakashi was right.

If the Hokage had investigated the incident himself, Yoruha's involvement would've been exposed immediately—and the boy would've been branded a threat to the village.

Even if he wasn't imprisoned, he would be placed under constant ANBU surveillance.

And if he ever showed the slightest irregularity, the ANBU would strike without hesitation.

After a long pause, Kimoto finally asked,

"What exactly is the power inside Yoruha? How could it be that terrifying?"

He had seen the destruction firsthand.

The sheer force of it rivaled the Tailed Beast Bombs unleashed by the Nine-Tails during the chaos years ago.

Fortunately, the explosion had occurred in the mountains behind the village.

If it had happened inside Konoha, the entire residential district would've been reduced to ashes.

That was no exaggeration.

At the center of the blast was a crater hundreds of meters wide.

The surrounding area—stretching for several kilometers—had been scorched bare.

Trees, grass, soil, and stone alike had been reduced to ash.

Such devastating power could only be compared to a Tailed Beast Bomb.

That was why, when the explosion occurred, nearly every jōnin had assumed it was the Nine-Tails rampaging again—believing the blast had been caused by a Tailed Beast Bomb.
