Chapter 16 - C16

Yoruha didn't stop in the middle of the lake.

Instead, he moved toward the base of the waterfall.

He wanted to find out where his limits truly lay.

But as soon as Kimoto Tōichi saw Yoruha heading toward the bottom of the waterfall, he was startled.

He hurriedly tried to stop him.

"Yoruha, that's enough! Don't go any further, it's too dangerous!"

Yet Yoruha didn't stop.

The closer he got to the waterfall, the louder the crashing sound of the water became, and the spray hitting his body made his heart race.

Even so, he braced himself — he wanted to see how far he could go.

Seeing that Yoruha wasn't stopping and was instead getting closer to the base of the waterfall, Kimoto Tōichi grew anxious and ran toward him.

But when he was only a few meters away, he stopped.

Because he saw the look of determination on Yoruha's face.

He understood Yoruha's purpose.

Although he was worried, he chose to respect Yoruha's will.

Rumble... rumble...

The roar of the waterfall hitting the lake echoed loudly. The spray had already soaked Yoruha's clothes through.

Yet his expression didn't change as he continued walking toward the point where the water crashed down.

His body rose and fell with the turbulent waves, but his feet remained steady on the surface.

Beneath him, chakra clung tightly to the water's surface.

When he was only five or six meters away from where the waterfall hit the lake, Yoruha stopped.

Not because he fell into the water — but because the force of the spray was too great.

The constant impact of water against his body made it impossible to move forward.

Still, Yoruha had found his limit.

"Heh... even if I tried to walk right into the waterfall, I probably wouldn't fall," Yoruha thought, "but I'd definitely be smashed straight into the water."

He understood clearly: even though he could stand on the churning water, the sheer force of the waterfall would crush him beneath it.

The power of the waterfall was overwhelming — far beyond what his body could currently withstand.

After all, this was just a test of his limits, not a death wish.

Yoruha had no intention of dying here.

After stepping back a few paces, he turned and looked at Kimoto Tōichi, who was still watching warily, ready to rush in and rescue him at any moment.

At that moment, Yoruha truly acknowledged his teacher.

Though the man's personality was cold, Yoruha could feel his concern.

Yoruha smiled. "Sensei, looks like I've got it."

Kimoto Tōichi exhaled in relief.

Walking up to him, he glanced at Yoruha's drenched clothes and patted his shoulder.

"You really overdid it. Even if you wanted to test your limits, that was far too risky."

"You're still a rookie — the power of that waterfall isn't something you can handle yet."

Yoruha didn't answer, only smiled faintly.

The two of them returned to the shore.

Yamada Jumoku and Motonoya Toko were frozen in place.

In their minds, they could still see Yoruha stepping toward that raging waterfall — like a god walking into chaos.

Neither of them had imagined the gap between them and Yoruha could be so vast.

"Mother was wrong," Motonoya Toko said quietly. "Yoruha isn't someone we can't trust."

At that moment, she completely rejected her mother's advice to keep her distance from him.

Yamada Jumoku, meanwhile, looked at Yoruha with open admiration.

That scene just now had been far too shocking — he couldn't believe that Yoruha, like him, had only just graduated from the ninja academy.

"Yoruha, how did you even do that? You scared me half to death just now."

"I didn't think you could still stand so steadily on the water in those conditions!"

Yoruha didn't respond, only gave a small smile.

Now that he had mastered the water-walking technique, cleaning the lake would be much easier.

Even the trash near the waterfall could be retrieved — he tied wire to kunai and hooked the debris out.

Back at the academy, besides the Three Basic Techniques, Yoruha had also trained diligently in ninja tool throwing.

After gaining the ability to lift his chakra restrictions and improve his learning aptitude, his skill with tools became almost flawless.

He might even surpass Kimoto Tōichi himself in weapon throwing.

After working the whole afternoon, they finally cleared the lake of garbage.

The three of them sat beneath a tree by the shore to rest.

Yamada Jumoku and Motonoya Toko were exhausted and drenched in sweat, while Yoruha — aside from his soaked clothes — didn't seem tired at all.

He thought that if he'd done the mission alone, he could've finished it even faster.

But missions like these required a team to achieve their goal.

Completing the task perfectly wasn't what mattered most — what mattered was that the three of them gained experience.

"Tired, aren't you? This kind of mission is one of the easier ones. It's not dangerous."

"When you take on real combat missions, then you'll understand the hardships of a ninja's life."

"Alright, it's getting dark. Once we turn in the mission, I'll treat you all to grilled meat."

Yamada Jumoku, who had been panting moments ago, instantly jumped up. "Sensei, you're the best! Grilled meat!"

Even for ninjas, grilled meat was considered a luxury.

If you ate too much of it, it could even empty a jōnin's wallet.

Of course, none of the three could eat as much as Chōji.

Yoruha stood up with a grin. "Sensei, you're being generous today."

Motonoya Toko followed. "Yeah, I used to think you were really hard to get along with."

Kimoto Tōichi said nothing.

In truth, he had been strict and hard to approach before — very serious.

But since these three were his first students, and since he especially valued Yoruha, even wanting to take him on as a personal disciple, he treated them differently from others.

After submitting the mission and finishing their meal, Yoruha returned home to rest.

Lying on his bed, he sank his consciousness into his inner space.

> "Your chakra control has doubled."

"You have obtained chakra of all five elemental natures."

Hearing the notification, Yoruha nearly jumped out of bed.

"What the—five elemental chakras?!"

"This reward is insane!"

"That means I now have every elemental chakra except Yin and Yang. But even without those, five-element chakra alone is already incredibly rare."

Across the entire ninja world, very few could possess all five elements of chakra.

Otherwise, Orochimaru wouldn't have killed so many ninjas just to obtain it.

And now Yoruha had gained them all at once — how could he not be thrilled?

Before this, he didn't even know what his chakra nature was, but now it didn't matter.

He had them all.

Which meant that from now on, he could learn any ninjutsu that didn't require Yin or Yang release.

At this moment, Yoruha was even more excited than when he first unlocked his chakra limit.

After all, having all five elemental chakras — that was the hallmark of a protagonist in the Fourth Great Ninja War.

Even though Naruto's main chakra was Wind, both he and Sasuke later had all elements.

"At this rate, it's not impossible to eventually gain Yin and Yang chakra too."

"This 'AFK System'... is even more terrifying than I thought."

"It's called an idle system, but it does way more than just idle."

Yoruha couldn't have imagined that the 'AFK System' would grant him so many abilities.
