FIFTEEN YEARS LATER
Sitting in the middle of a garden, his eyes staring at a particular butterfly that perched on the almond tree.
His eyes never left the butterfly, as he watched with interest.. He suddenly stood up, and approached it gently. His footsteps so light that he himself couldn't hear them.
He smiled as he walked slowly. He was already close to the tree. Almost there. Almost—
"Get away from here, butterfly"Darius sent it away, and it flew away. Darius was still shouting at the butterfly when he heard retreating footsteps.
He turned, and saw Axel leaving. "Axel" He called, and walked to him.
"Why did you send it away?" Axel asked, and Darius shrugged. "I didn't like it"
Axel shook his head, and turned, walking away.
"What's so special about the butterfly anyways? Sometimes, he acts so childish." He muttered.

Axel and Darius both attended the royal school in Eleandora. From different packs, princes and princesses attend this school. And even though some ministers tried to protest when Axel was enrolled here with Darius, the King stood firmly against them. "He's an Alpha prince, and should therefore be treated like one"
Axel and Darius had been attending this school ever since they turned three.
"Do you like her that much. She's not even that pretty" Axel whispered to Darius, who was staring at the young princess of Frostvale pack, a pack under Eleandora.
Carsel is the prettiest girl in class, one that most guys admire, all except Axel. He sees nothing pretty about her. At all.
But fate's quite twisted anyways. While Axel won't even spare her a glance, he's the same one she really likes.
Axel sighed when Carsel starred walking to them, and Darius grinned happily. "Hi Axel" Her sweet voice purred as she completely ignored Darius.
Darius face fell, as he watched her stretch out a bouquet of flowers to Axel.
Axel's face remained indifferent as he looked at her through his pair of contact lenses. When the Alpha noticed the way people are usually scared of him, because of his eyes, he had made sure he wore brown contact lenses, so he'd blend in quite well; he has been using it since he was three.
"Axel, my hand is hurting" She whined, as she stretched the flowers to him.
"Then, drop it or give it to someone else. If you think I'd collect that thing from you, then you must be joking" He said sharply, and Carsel's face fell.
"But I got it just for you. My dad brought it from—"
"I really don't care" He said, and was about walking away, when Carsel suddenly shouted;
"Why are you so proud? I won't act proud if I were you. I heard you're not even one of us"
Axel paused, and he blinked.
"You think I have no idea, huh? I don't even know why I like you, demon." She heaved, and loud gasps followed.
"What did you just say?" Axel said under his breath.
Carsel looked at her friends, and they gave a thumbs up sign, and she summoned courage.
"That's right. I heard you killed your own mother, and you're not even the son of the Luna. My father told me so" She added, and more gasps erupted.
A sickening laugh burst out from Axel and everywhere became quiet. Surely that's not the reaction they were expecting from him.
"This is one of the numerous reasons why i don't like, and will never ever like you. You're so desperate aren't you? I'd rather marry a frog than hold hands with you. And by the way, you and your father can both go to hell" He smirked, and walked over to a girl putting on glasses.
She isn't an Alpha's daughter like the rest of them. She only got into the school on scholarship. Once a year, the school conducts scholarship exams in the country, and only five students are picked every year.
Because she's a scholarship student, she has no friends at all because of this, and she gets bullied often. She has a large crush on Axel, but had never shown it.
Her mind skipped as he walked over to her. Even the students were quiet.
Why is he walking over to that loser.
"Hey, stand up" He said, immediately he got to her.
"What's your name?" He asked impatiently.
"F—fiona" She muttered, her face pink.
Before anyone could say a word, he crashed his lips on hers, and the students' eyes went wide.
Carsel almost fainted as she watched them. Axel kissing that wench?
Immediately he broke the kiss, he turned to Carsel, "Everyone calls me a demon, don't they? You all want a demon, don't you? You'll see one"
He took off the contact lenses he was wearing, and his golden eyes came into view. The students screamed in shock. He was looking like the son of an insanely handsome demon.
He moved among the students, and they shifted away.
"Fools" He muttered, and walked out.
Everyone's breaths returned immediately he stepped out.
Carsel's face was red, as she faced Fiona angrily.
"You're so dead, Fiona" She hissed, and went out of the room with her clique.
Fiona only touched her wet lips and giggled. "He kissed me"

"Father, am I really a demon?"
The question that came out of Axel's mouth shocked the king. He hadn't returned home till it was evening, and the king had been quite surprised about his eyes. He had removed the contact lenses, and they were blazing.
Anyone who sees him like this would surely be terrified.
"Where are your lenses?"
"I threw them away" He answered plainly.
"Why? You should wear them?"
"Why? Just why? Why do I have to hide every time? I hear rumours about myself every single day. I can't even be myself. People say things, father. And this time—i'm not going to retreat like a coward" He shouted, his eyes misty.
"Axel—"
"As from today henceforth, I'm not wearing any lense over my eyes. I don't care what anyone thinks. I look like a demon? Then so be it. They want a demon, they'll get a demon" He resolved, his eyes twinkling.
