"There is nothing else to say, your Majesty. The heavens have restricted me from saying more than that" The seer said.
The king had invited him to the palace, and had asked him to explain what he wrote in the scroll. He had dismissed every body, not even a single guard was in the throne room as they spoke.
"Not even a little clue on who's who? You spoke about them without mentioning which destiny or fate belongs to Darius, and which belongs to Axel"
"This is because this two are bounded together. If you recall your Majesty, this two were born at the exact same time" He said, and the King nodded.
"More reason why I'm worried." The king stated.
"Before the message arrived, I wasn't too worried about the timing of their birth. It's not going to cause any issue to the throne since only Darius is a pure blooded. But the message on the scroll hinted at something I don't want to dwell on"
"You are the one avoiding the truth ,your Majesty. You understand the message, you don't just want to accept it" The seer said, and the King's hands folded on the arm of his throne.
"There's nothing to accept" He gritted.
"Your Majesty, these are the fate of the pups. One thing is clear, your Majesty. The heavens are not considering the fact that the other child isn't a full blooded royal. The crown was carved from the stars."
Alpha Kaden went deeply in thoughts as he remembered the words of the seer. That means that the both princes has the chances of becoming the next heir. Darius doesn't hold that seat a hundred percent.
This isn't looking good.
If this news gets out—it would cause so much rift in the palace. The kingdom won't agree to it.
"This is trouble" He muttered.
"Can you answer another question? That child, Axel—why are his eyes like that? Why did his mother come into my life and leave like that? Why was I attracted to her so much within a short period of time, when I already have a mate" He asked in a rush, and the seer chuckled.
"You've asked more than one question, your Majesty"
"I need answers badly. These questions have been making my heart ache. No matter how much I think about it ...it seems out of the ordinary. I'm a man of principles. I have never broken my promises, and had never cheated on my woman. I'm an Alpha—not one to be easily defeated by lust."
"But when this girl came into the picture..it was as though I lost control; I just wasn't able to stop myself. I broke my promises and bore a child with another woman. And this child that she gave birth to is a threat to my supposed heir? That single night of pleasure is birthing a lot of unsolved mysteries"
"You are truly wise, your Majesty. A connection has been made between you and that woman. A forbidden connection" The seer said, and the king paused.
"What do you mean by that?"
"That connection was never meant to happen. But it happened because it was unavoidable." He paused.
"However, no sin goes unpunished, your Majesty. You already made a promise to the Luna, and it was broken. I'm afraid this child might be your punishment."
"This boy is not an ordinary one, as you might have noticed. All this bloodshed can be avoided if you make one decision, your Majesty"
"And what's that?" The King asked with hope in his eyes. He really wants no war between his two offspring.
"Kill the mistress' child" The seer said without mincing words, and the king's shoulder dropped.
"I should do what?" He asked again, hoping he heard wrongly.
"There's going to be war and destruction, your Majesty. Things might turn out in a way you can never predict. You can prevent it now, by making that sole decision. The ball is in your court, your Majesty."
"This is really beyond me" The Alpha sighed out .
"Is everything alright, your Majesty?" Dre asked as he stood behind the King.
He has been noticing the king's distressed face ever since he read the scroll from the seer.
"Everything might be fine now, but I guess it won't be in the future" The king answered and Dre's brows creased. What does the King mean by that?
The Alpha folded his arms behind his back, his eyes staring into nothing. Soon, the members of the cabinet would demand the reason for his silence. What would he tell them? He can't afford to let the message to anyone just yet. It would cause rift in the palace.
But then...maybe, just maybe he could change the fate of the pups without having to—? Is there something he could do to make things turn out differently?

"My king, isn't it high time we all became aware of the response of the seer; pertaining to the princes" Beta Orion asked, as he sat with the king.
He had asked to see the king after he left the Luna's chamber.
The king remained silent for a while, his eyes not tearing away from the Beta. "You seem to have already discussed this with my Luna, why come to me again?" The King asked, and the Beta's face lost his composure for a while.
He wasn't expecting the King to find out what he had discussed with the Luna.
"Why are you shocked, Orion? Isn't that the truth?" The male asked calmly.
"Your Majesty, it is true that I had gone to see the Luna before coming to you, but I never meant any harm..I was just curious"
"I never said you meant any harm, Beta, or did I?"
The Beta cleared his throat, as he looked at the King. No matter how much he tried, he never seemed to understand this male. One thing he knows is that the Alpha doesn't trust him.
He was the Beta of Alpha Kaden's father, and out of courtesy, Alpha Kaden had asked him to remain in the position; not for anything but of sheer courtesy.
"You should have come to me directly to ask your questions, and not hide behind my wife" Alpha Kaden said firmly, and Beta Orion lowered his gaze.
"Forgive me, your Majesty"
"Now, as for your question—" He paused, and the Beta raised his head up, his eyes filled with curiosity.
"The fates of the princes shall be read out on this day, fifteen years later." He said calmly, and the Beta's eyes widened in surprise.
"Fifteen years later?!" He asked.
"Yes."
"Forgive me for questioning your actions, your Majesty...but why? That's just too long. The princes would have become matured by then" He asked, unable to contain his surprise.
"Is there something wrong?" He added, lowering his voice, and the chuckle that erupted from the king's lips made his lashes batter.
"What could possibly be wrong, Beta? We're talking about my pups here—my own princes. Whatever I want to do with them is not to be questioned by anyone. I'm not going against the kingdom customs, I'm just delaying it for a while. You can pass this on to the ministers" He said, and the Beta looked unsettled.
"I will respect your decision, your Majesty but there's another thing that's bothering me" The beta stated, and the king nodded.
"Very well. Speak"
"It's about—the second prince. Prince Axel"
"And what about him?"
"There's something off about him, your Majesty. Is he really one of us? His eyes seem to look..." He paused, looking away.
"Look what, beta?"
"Devilish" He let the word roll of his tongue and the King's brows twitched.
"I'm thinking we should consult the seer about it, your Majesty. Rumours have been flying around."
"What sort of rumours?"
"The maids have been talking in hushed tomes, your Majesty. These things just whizzed past my ears"
Alpha Kaden's patience seemed to have thinned out, but he maintained his calm.
"What things?"
"That..that he never sleeps. Never cries. A maid allegedly saw his eyes glow once" He mentioned, and the king's breath hitched.
He had noticed the glow in Axel's eyes once too—but no matter what, Axel is still his son, and he'll protect him the way a father would protect his son.
"There's nothing wrong with my son. You should be shutting down those rumours, not entertaining them, Beta!"
"I'm sorry, your Majesty. I was just—"
"I would like to take a rest now, Beta" The king said, dismissively and Beta Orion bowed, taking his leave.
Immediately he got outside the chamber, his fists curled, and his jaw clenched.
"Why is he protecting that impure child so much? I'm sure the king is hiding something... something grave"
