Xavier's POV
As soon as I stepped out the door, Stephen was waiting there with Clara standing beside him and that bought me out of my daze.
"Why are you still up?" I asked, turning to Clara but she seemed appalled.
"Xavier, what is she?" she questioned instead, her trembling voice revealing that she is upset about something.
"She is no one," I answered, but couldn't stop a smirk from escaping my lips.
When i paid such a huge price for the breeder, I was looking forward to taming her, but more than that, the thoughts of teasing her and making her tremble at my touch seemed more appealing.
If she hasn't experienced the horror she did tonight, then I wouldn't have been able to stop.
"Xavier…" Clara called my name, her tone a bit reluctant and sad.
"Is something wrong?" I asked.
She shook her head, no.
"I need you to prepare a room for her here in the house." I instructed, turning to Stephen.
"Have her take this room." I said, pointing to the one next to mine.
Clara stepped forward quickly, and suddenly grabbed my hand in hers.
"Since she is someone important to you, why don't you let her stay in the room next to mine? That way I can also take care of her on your behalf" she offered.
"Don't you hate to have others live close to your room?"
"You are not well enough to take care of others. I will handle her myself." I responded, declining her offer.
"Return to your room first and make sure to take your drug." I told her, and she nodded, leaving first.
"About the room, how do you want it arranged?" Stephen asked, seeking clear instructions.
Since she seemed to like the color black and white, I picked the latter.
"Repaint it white. Make it look… nice and pretty for a young girl."
"Did you just say pretty?" Stephen repeated, bewildered.
Ignoring him, I turned aside and head over to the room I used for official duties in the house.
Stephen followed behind, with a loud and annoying chuckle,
"Xavier," he called, dropping the formality.
I paused, and turned around, and he did the same thing as well.
Although he is my subordinate and beta, we have known each other for over twenty five years and he is the closest person to me.
"What?"
"Didn't you swear never to take a mate?" he asked, and I furrowed, surprised he is able to figure that out.
"How did you…"
"It's easy to figure it out." Stephen replied, closing the space between us.
"You never unleash your Lycan in the house for fear of frightening Clara, but today you didn't care about any of that." he said.
"Only a mate's pull will could make you carry a girl in your arms."
I exhaled without words and continued to walk to the office.
"Clara is clearly upset about how you treated her earlier, you should visit her to cheer her up." Stephen continued and I nodded.
Clara is weak, and must have been frightened by what happened tonight. It wouldn't be good if her illness flare up.
"Okay,"
I turned and made my way to her room on the other side of the house.
"So, about the omega girl… are you going to make her your Queen?" Stephen asked as we arrived at the door.
"Not a chance." I said as I pushed the door opened and Stephen turned to leave.
But as soon as I stepped in, Clara lay crumpled on the floor, her body twisting in pain.
My chest tightened and I ran to her side, picking her from floor. I haven't seen her this bad in months.
Her pain always remind me, it was my fault.
"What is wrong?" I asked, examining her body.
"Xavier… I…" she muttered before closing her eyes, and falling unconscious.
"Clara!" I yelled again, and the door suddenly opened.
Stephen rushed in, probably heard my scream and came to our side.
"What happened to her?" he queried, shocked.
"Get a doctor." I ordered, carrying her unto the bed and waited for the doctor to arrived.

Raina's POV
By the time I woke up the next morning, the sun was already up in the sky, and ray of light shone in the room.
I turned on my side, relieved not to wake up from a smelly prison floor but on a comfortable king size bed and a room big enough to fit another house.
My parents' house at Ironclaw was big, but so far, Xavier's place is five times bigger.
Our pack was established only five years ago.
Raina stretched her body a little, and got up from the bed, trying to see what time it was, but there was no clock in there.
Not sure what to do, I entered into the bathroom, to brushed my teeth, and stood before the mirror.
Wait a minute…
What do I use to brushed my teeth?
I thought, staring at the one toothbrush inside the bathroom, and sighed.
Xavier will definitely hate it if I use his.
Without a definite answered, I took a brief shower, and came out of the bathroom, putting on the shirt and boxer I wore before and stepped into the room.
A knock came almost immediately and I braced myself up to see Xavier, folding my hands together nervously.
Someone stepped in, carrying a tray filled with bacon and toast.
"Hi" I mumbled, surprised and slightly disappointed.
"Here is your breakfast." he said, placing the plate on the table.
He said I was a prisoner, but what prisoner gets bacon and toast?
"You are?" I asked, curious.
"Ken, the housekeeper." he answered.
I stared in disbelieved, surprised a man works as a housekeeper here and nodded again.
"Xavier asked me to attend to your meals. If you have any questions, you can ask me." he added.
Having someone watched over me, typical.
"What time is it?" I queried.
"Quarter past nine." he answered patiently, waiting to see if I have any more questions.
"What about…" I hesitated to ask about Xavier. Not like I wanted to see him but he bought me here and I don't know what he is planning to do with me yet.
"If you are curious about Xavier, then he is busy. You probably won't see him for a few days." Ken said, and I forced a smile.
"I wasn't asking about him." I responded and sat on the bed.
"If there is nothing else, then I will leave now." he told me and turned to the door.
"Wait, where do I find a new brush?" I asked,
"You will find as many as you want in the bathroom." he replied, locking the door after him.
