"What did you say?" The king crushed the metal cup in his hand as his eyes flashed red in a mix of anger and anticipation.
This was the Berserk ability. Over the years, the Triple Monarchy had split itself into developing on different paths. The region of Franz followed the path of technology. Originally it held 60% of the nation's technological research and infrastructure, but now that had shifted to almost 70%, with 25% being in Austria, and the remaining 10% being in Hungary; comprising of the bare minimum Austria enforced to ensure the living conditions of its people.
On the other hand, Hungary had progressed further along the path of Magic, building enough systems around the path of power that it housed almost 80% of the nation's Magi, with the remaining originating from Austria.
Externally, Austria portrayed the willingness to have a mix of both technology and Magic, which was true in a sense. However, most of the nation's secret efforts, in research using both technology and Magic, to fully uncover and develop the innate ability all Jerries possessed; Berserk.
Unlike their unnatural healing form the radiation of the sun, this ability was an active one, and had its own cost after using it.
But due to their incredibly focussed research, the monarchy within Austria had been able to develop different aspects of Berserk.
They had been able to change its usage requirements from being only activated on its own during moments of peril; as long as the will of the Jerry was strong enough. Now, on those who trained properly to trick their minds into believing they were in life-threatening situations, the Berserk ability could be activate at will.
Furthermore, those who were properly trained for more than a year, the ability could be controlled in intensity, ranging from 10% of the original power boost, all the way to 150% of the normal boost gained from normally activating the Berserk ability.
And this is what the current king had used. He had linked the Berserk ability directly to his emotions, allowing it to be passively activated on its own whenever needed just be rapidly changing emotions, like the fear or anger from being assassinated.
Plus, doing it this way would also severely limit the amount of backlash he would receive after it deactivated to a mild fatigue.
"My Lord, the upstart United States of Erdöl has joined Hohenzollern and the Kalmar Union in declaring war on us and the Tsardom of Moscow," the aide bowed deeply while repeating the news he had just reported.
"Ha… Haha…" the king began chulcking menacingly.
"The three nations; Hohenzollern, the Kalmar Union, and the United States of Erdöl have come together to form the Allied Nations, coming together to improve logistical and war needs," the Aide reported.
"Haha…"
"And the United States, together with Hohenzollern, was able to break the frontline we hat set up to the south. The two are charging into Hungary, with the United states taking the lead as Hohenzollern is already stretched thin against us and the Tsardom."
"…" This time, the king did not laugh, and his red eyes turned serious before rapidly shifting towards the man to his left.
He stood up from his throne and approached the large paper map. Snatching a pen from one of the other aides who were making changes to the map under the orders of the military generals in the room, and paused for a moment before confidentially drawing a line.
"This…" One of the generals noticed how the line divided Hungary into half. And the Hungarian parliament along with the wealthiest parts of the region were placed outside the line, while the most populated regions were on the Austrian side of the line.
"For a second line of defence here. I do not want any of the politicians or wealthy from Hungary to pass through this line into safety. Bring back all our soldiers here, and stop the advance of the enemies by any means necessary," the king then turned to the special masked soldier to his side, "Send in the Berserk Legion. Eliminate all those within the Populus and military causing issues around Hungary, then send them to Franz to do the same."
'By the end of this war, as long as Austria Stands, the Triple Monarchy will come to an end,' the king finally set into motion the plan he had ben forming since the moment he had capitulated to the wanton demands of Franz and Hungary. And now, with the United States giving him the perfect opportunity, he would not miss it.
It was time to bring back the Nation of Austria.
