Confronting Parallax
In terms of sheer arrogance and domineering presence, Luke at this moment was second to none.
The Green Flame burned fiercely, transforming into a towering torch.
"Fire Fist!"
With a roar, Luke drew his right fist back and swung it forward, carrying a massive amount of green fire. The flame formed a punch that traveled dozens of meters, smashing heavily into Hector's protective barrier.
Bang!
The flame scattered and parted to the sides.
Hector's lips curled in disdain. The next second, his expression froze. The telekinetic field protecting his body was visibly shrinking.
The green flame could actually erode telekinetic power!
"Peculiar humanoid!"
Hector scoffed, raising his segmented, insect-like claw and lightly pointing.
Boom!
The invisible force transformed into a fierce gale, blowing the green flame backward.
Hector raised his hand again. An invisible shockwave slammed through the air, hitting Luke so hard that his legs sank into the ground, plowing back over ten meters before he stopped.
Such potent telekinesis!
Compared to before, it was at least ten times stronger.
Luke narrowed his eyes, pushed off the ground, and charged forward. His speed rapidly increased. Two cannons emerged from his shoulders. The muzzles were wrapped in green flame, continuously firing energy blasts enveloped in the same green fire.
Hector simply pointed a finger. Four air walls appeared in front, behind, to the left, and to the right of Luke, cutting off all his escape routes.
At the same time, a giant hand made of telekinetic energy materialized in the air.
The giant hand was two stories tall. Its five fingers clenched into a fist, descending with a deafening roar.
The air seemed to be sucked away, creating countless ripples.
The energy giant hand was directly overhead. Luke had no chance to dodge, nor did he intend to.
"Flame Sun!"
The protective green flame surged, forming a towering column of fire that collided with the energy giant hand.
At that moment, time seemed to stand still.
The shockwave created by the two forces annihilated everything within a hundred-meter radius. White light and green flame rubbed, clashed, and tore at each other, sending out huge energy ripples.
The killing intent boiled in Luke's eyes.
"Great Flame Sun!"
Boom!
The flame surged dramatically, sweeping over the energy giant hand like a tsunami. The telekinetic power was eroded and consumed, quickly dissolving into nothingness. The green flame then condensed in the air, forming a massive fireball over fifty meters in diameter.
The fireball hovered in mid-air, blazing like a sun.
"Die, you piece of trash!"
Luke shot into the air, lifted the fireball with his right hand, and smashed it downward with full force.
The fifty-meter fireball blotted out the sun, descending from the sky with a destructive aura that penetrated the soul.
Before it even arrived, the soul felt a burning pain, as if being scorched by fire.
Hector's face was solemn and incredibly serious.
Normally, he wouldn't care about an attack like this, but things were different now. After being bombarded by the Green Lantern Corps and nearly reverting to his primitive state, he had used his last bit of energy to come to Earth, only to find a host so weak that it not only failed to enhance him but also somewhat limited his performance.
"Hector Hammond, you truly are a failure!"
Hector cursed inwardly. He raised all six claws simultaneously. Telekinetic power twisted and coiled, forming a gigantic shield dozens of meters thick.
The fireball slammed into the shield.
There were no tricks or techniques, only the most primal clash of raw energy.
Shockwaves burst from the central impact, radiating outwards. Green flame surged, and white light exploded, scattering across all parts of the island. Hurricanes rose from the ground, bending trees and plants. The seawater turned into a great swell, rising higher and higher into multi-meter waves.
The sky was split into two distinct worlds by the white and green energies.
The Duel of the Women
In the sky nearby, Linda, who had been watching the fight, was full of disbelief.
"That bastard actually has such powerful metahuman abilities!"
"Why didn't he use them before?"
"But... the Green Flame feels so eerie. Even from this far away, it gives me the illusion that my soul is being consumed."
"What an evil power. It's like a demon from hell. Could that guy be the devil's child?"
Recalling Luke's various behaviors, the girl nodded seriously.
"That's right. He definitely has demonic blood."
Carol was also watching the situation on the island, but the distance was too great, and she lacked super-vision, so she couldn't clearly see what was happening. She diverted some of her attention to the girl beside her.
When two rival women are together, appraisal is mandatory, and comparison is essential:
Age: Younger than herself, around eighteen.Height: 1.7 meters. Not as tall as her.The corners of her mouth occasionally curled up. Clearly, poorly brought up.Her chest was flat, nowhere near as ample as her own.
As for fashion sense...
Carol glanced at the tracksuit Linda was wearing and curled her lip in distaste.
A tracksuit?
As a woman, daring to leave the house in a tracksuit, and a grey one at that? Heh! Clearly, she was used to being sloppy and lacked even the most basic manners.
In just a few glances, Carol mentally gave Linda a disastrously low score.
"A messy girl from some backwater. Rebellious and volatile. Except for her sweet looks and metahuman ability, she's useless in every other regard. Extremely low threat. Can be ignored."
As a Kryptonian, Linda's senses were excellent. None of Carol's appraisals escaped her notice. At first, she didn't mind. They were both women; a look was no big deal. But she never expected the other woman to show a look of mockery.
What does that mean?
Mocking me? An Earth native looking down on a Kryptonian from a superior civilization?
Linda was enraged. She turned her head, glaring fiercely.
"Who are you, and what's your name?"
Carol smiled subtly, knowledgeable, beautiful, and slightly domineering.
"Carol Ferris, Executive Director of Ferris Aircraft, and Luke's girlfriend."
Linda scoffed. "Luke Shaw has a hundred girlfriends. Which number are you?"
Carol replied unhurriedly, "Those hundred girlfriends all refer to me. I alone am worth a hundred."
As she spoke, she tilted her head slightly, her imposing manner naturally emerging.
Linda's expression froze, and her face grew even more hostile.
Carol said, "Little sister, who are you?"
"Don't call me little sister. I'm older than you."
"Older than me?"
Carol smiled strangely, her gaze subtly sweeping over Linda's chest before resting on her own ample bosom. "I couldn't tell. Where are you bigger than me?"
"You..."
Linda's face flushed. She instinctively raised her fist.
"Do you want to fight?"
Carol turned her head. "I don't resort to violence with vulgar women. It would make me look uncultured."
Linda felt her blood pressure rapidly rising. This damned woman is deliberately provoking me! Then, she suddenly remembered something. Her eyes darted, and she grinned cunningly.
"You're Luke Shaw's girlfriend. Does that mean you two will get married someday?"
"That is natural."
"Then do you know who I am?"
"I'm listening."
Linda coughed and spoke with a pretense of profound knowledge. "Listen carefully. By seniority, I am his little aunt. When you marry him, you become my niece. Come on, call me 'Auntie'!"
