Weeks passed quickly as Lior worked alongside the Silver Fangs. Though he remained quiet and never revealed his summoner ability, his reliability and strength didn't go unnoticed. He carried heavy loads, fought silently when needed, and never once complained.
When their regular porter recovered, Darius, the leader, approached him at the guild's entrance."You've been good to us, Lior," he said with a grin. "Our porter's back on his feet. But before you go… I've got an offer."
Lior looked up. "An offer?"
"Yeah. Stay with us till the end of the season. We'll pay triple what normal porters earn. You're sharp — and the team works better with you around."
Lior hesitated. The money could support his mother for months. After a moment, he smiled faintly. "Deal."
For a while, life felt almost normal again. He laughed with the team, ate with them, even helped them through the toughest parts of the dungeon.
But whenever he closed his eyes, his mind drifted home — to his mother's weary smile and the empty chair at their table.
He remembered his father's face. The once-beloved A-rank adventurer who had abandoned them after becoming S-rank in the Unizone Competition. The man who'd walked out on his family to marry a noblewoman in the capital.
From that day, his mother's laughter had vanished.
Now, Lior's true goal burned brighter than ever — to reach the top, win the Unizone, and bring her happiness back.
But fate wasn't going to make that easy.
When the Silver Fangs were ambushed by hordes of monsters on the 12th floor — far beyond normal spawn rates — their survival became uncertain. The horde was endless, and they quickly realized this was no ordinary dungeon behavior.
Darius ordered, "Lior, run! You're not a fighter!"
But before Lior could respond, the ground shook violently — and a piercing roar echoed through the halls.
Something massive was coming.
