Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 Awakening and Ambition

A few weeks have passed as he gazed upon the other orphans. Henry had always been careful, observant, patient. But today, something changed.

It began with a book a tattered journal left behind by one of the older children. He idly flipped through its pages, tracing the words and sketches, when a sharp pang of frustration surged through him. The pen slipped from his fingers, and for a fleeting moment, it hovered midair.

Henry froze. The pen spun slowly, hovering, and then gently floated back to his hand. His heart raced, his mind refusing to believe what he was seeing.

He tried again, focusing on a small pebble outside the window. He willed it to roll toward him, and it moved. Slowly, awkwardly, but unmistakably it moved.

Magic.

The word echoed in his mind like a bell. He had always known it was possible in stories, in the movies, in the books that had been his only solace through sickness and pain. But to feel it… to command it it was intoxicating. A rush unlike anything he had ever felt.

Henry's mind lit up with possibilities. The orphanage was safe enough, but it was small, limited, and isolated. He could learn here, hone his abilities in secret, but eventually, he would need more.

Britain. Hogwarts. The Gamp family legacy a long thought extinct, buried in history waited there. He would reclaim it. He would rise, not as a weak, sickly boy, not as someone powerless, but as Henry Gamp, heir to a forgotten name, master of magic, architect of his own destiny.

He spent the evening pacing the small dormitory room, planning. First, he would practice. Small objects, animals, the wind. He would test limits, refine control, and ensure no one could stop him. Then, he would find a way to leave. The orphanage was merely a starting point. Britain awaited, and with it, the chance to begin his reign.

Henry's chest tightened not with fear, but with anticipation. He had been reborn for a reason. This body, this life, this second chance it was all a gift. And he would use it to its fullest potential.

The fireflies outside blinked in the night, tiny lights flickering in the darkness. Henry watched them and smiled, a quiet, confident smile. Soon, the world would know his name. Soon, Henry Gamp would no longer be forgotten.
