Chapter 37 - 37

As Meng Ran's words fell, three figures appeared around Gwen and Meng Ran: two men and one woman, all wearing black half-face masks.

"Tsk tsk tsk tsk! Evil Ghost truly lives up to his name, discovering us so quickly. Number One! It must have been your trail that exposed us."

The woman with the fiery figure spoke, her eyes above the mask alluring and darting over Meng Ran.

Another relatively tall, more muscular, buzz-cut man said coldly, "Shut up, Number Two. Why don't you smell how strong your own stench is."

Hearing the two bickering, the slightly lazy Number Three, a short-haired man, said helplessly, "Alright, alright, we're here to complete a mission. Let's all shut up for now."

Number One and Number Two glared at each other, snorted, and stopped talking.

Meng Ran looked at the three people opposite him with a cold expression, not saying a word.

Number Three, the lazy man, spoke again, "Originally, the target was only Evil Ghost, but who told you to be here too, Ghost Spider, right? When you go to hell, remember to seek revenge from Evil Ghost, or you can do it now."

Gwen snorted coldly, "No need for trash talk. If you have any skills, use them quickly. Or are your strongest assets just your foul mouths?"

Hearing Gwen's words, the faces of the trio opposite immediately turned sour.

Although Meng Ran showed no change in expression, he was secretly startled: "Gwen's trash talk is actually this strong! How did I never notice it before?"

After speaking, Gwen immediately entered a combat-ready state, and Meng Ran also lowered his hand to his waist, poised for action.

Suddenly, Meng Ran pulled out a pistol and rapidly fired several bullets at the three people in front of him.

In an instant, the three people opposite reacted as quickly as possible to the impending threat.

The robust Number One stood his ground fearlessly; bullets clinked against his body and then fell to the ground.

The alluring Number Two instantly vanished from her spot the moment the gun fired, reappearing to the front-right of her previous position.

Number Three, the lazy man, instantly bent down, managing to dodge the bullets just as they were about to hit him.

Seeing this scene, Meng Ran gained a preliminary understanding of these individuals.

According to Meng Ran's analysis, Number One should have skin and bones like bronze and iron, similar to the male assassin from last time, but his ability seemed to be much stronger than that man's.

Number Two should have a teleportation ability, but at present, it was unknown if her teleportation had distance limitations.

However, Meng Ran estimated that it probably did, otherwise her ability would be too heaven-defying and she shouldn't be in this team.

Number Three, the man, was the most mysterious; currently, only his extremely fast reactions could be seen, his specific abilities were still unknown.

After his probing, Meng Ran immediately whispered to Gwen, "You go deal with the big guy; I'll handle the other two."

"Your venom should have a very strong effect on him."

Gwen nodded, then shot a web at the big Number One, sticking to his hand.

Number One was about to advance but was entangled by the web; in his anger, he immediately roared unintelligently at Gwen, then forcefully tore the web from his hand and rushed towards Gwen.

Meng Ran, meanwhile, rapidly rushed towards Number Three, the lazy man, while his gun continuously poured bullets at Number Two, the woman.

Meng Ran's speed had become very fast after multiple enhancements, and he instantly arrived in front of the man.

Then, "Star Cutting" suddenly appeared in his hand, and he delivered a slash at Number Three's neck.

Number Three's eyes widened in surprise as he saw Meng Ran suddenly appear in front of his face; he hadn't expected Meng Ran's speed to be so fast.

Looking at the blade about to cut his neck, he immediately forced himself to quickly fall backward.

Relying on his super-fast reaction ability, Number Three barely dodged the decapitating strike, but the cold blade that grazed his neck still left a line of blood.

Seeing that the strike was ineffective, Meng Ran immediately prepared to adjust quickly and unleash a "Star Cutting" blade light.

Meng Ran thought to himself, "You can dodge a physical strike, but how will you dodge this airborne blade qi? Even if you retreat ten meters, you won't be able to escape."

Just as Meng Ran was about to unleash "Star Cutting," his mind suddenly began to warn him.

Sensing the danger, Meng Ran immediately ducked down, simultaneously turning quickly, and then, his blade momentum unbroken, he unleashed a diagonal moon-like "Star Cutting" blade light from bottom to top, striking towards the enemy in front of him.

Just now, as Meng Ran quickly ducked, a dark dagger sliced past the position of his neck where he had been standing.

It turned out that Number Two, seeing Number Three in danger, had quickly teleported behind Meng Ran to launch a sneak attack. If the opponent hadn't been Meng Ran, not many people would have been able to dodge such a perfectly timed ambush.

But what Number Two hadn't expected was that this Evil Ghost seemed to have eyes in the back of his head, sensing the danger even with his back to her, and immediately counterattacking.

Number Two, whose sneak attack had failed, felt a sense of crisis at her waist and could only use her fastest reaction ability to teleport.

Instantly, Number Two reappeared behind Number One, who had just adjusted himself.

Although her teleportation saved her from being cut in half at the waist, an unavoidable wound was left on her waist.

Her black combat uniform had been torn by the blade light, and her fair skin was stained red with the blood flowing out. If her reaction had been even a split second slower, she wouldn't just have one wound now, but would have been cut into two pieces.

Number Two, the alluring woman, had a serious expression and a pale face. She stood behind Number Three, the lazy man, clutching her waist.

Both of them had shed their previous contempt and vigilantly watched the black figure not far in front of them. The blade he held was not stained with a single drop of blood, reflecting a chilling cold light under the moonlight.

Number Two fumbled for a spray bottle at her lower back, holding her wound with one hand and biting open the cap with the other. Then she began spraying the wound.

The spray was very effective; the wound on Number Two's waist instantly stopped bleeding.

Meng Ran also breathed a sigh of relief at the sight. Although he hadn't held back in his previous strike, if it had landed squarely, she would indeed have been cut in two.

But he still hoped the woman wouldn't bleed too much and die, as he still needed to possess her later to gain her abilities.

"It seems I really shouldn't aim for vital points. It wouldn't be good if I accidentally killed them," Meng Ran thought to himself.

Number Three continued to vigilantly stare at Meng Ran. He only relaxed when he heard the sound of the spray. With the spray, at least her life was saved, and she could maintain some combat ability.

Although there would be a price to pay, in the face of life, nothing was more important.

Seeing Number Two stop the bleeding, Meng Ran again unleashed a "Star Cutting" at the two of them.

Amidst the swirling blade light, several blade energies shot out, instantly splitting into more blade energies that flew towards the two.

Number Three's eyes were sharp at the sight. He raised both hands, and countless fireballs condensed from his hands, quickly shooting towards the blade energies in the air.

The roar of explosions sounded; Meng Ran's blade energies were all blocked by the fireballs Number Three shot out.

Suddenly, firelight blazed, and the collision of the two waves of attacks produced a huge roar.

Meng Ran began to circle the moment the man raised his hand. The massive firelight explosion made Venom feel a strong discomfort.

Although Meng Ran had appropriately increased Venom's resistance to fire and noise, Venom still felt uncomfortable with these natural weaknesses.

Meng Ran bypassed the firelight and quickly rushed towards Number Two and Number Three.

Number Three, seeing Meng Ran rushing in, raised his hand and fired several more fireballs to greet him.

Meng Ran watched the gushing fireballs, brandishing "Star Cutting" and flicking out blade energies to cut all the fireballs in half.

The fireballs, cut in half, immediately let out a roar and then dissipated into the air.

Meng Ran did not stop his steps, continuing to rush forward.

Suddenly, several large fireballs surged out from behind Meng Ran, and at the same time, the previous fireballs in front of him finally dissipated completely. Number Two and Number Three, who had been there, also disappeared.
