Chapter 12 - Chapter 2: Summoned (part 9)

Immediately, the body of the avatar of the fallen god of death turned back into sand, as Zerothiel had easily destroyed its core, doing the same with the others until finally finishing them all.

You have been recognized as a dark entity. Therefore, you can subdue any type of demon//

—Looks like I obtained some really good skills, finally I have Fast Regeneration and another skill called Core. Also, this is new—the fact that Zero defeats someone and I gain their abilities through Prince of Greed is really useful...

"Eh?"

The demons that had come out of the portal were kneeling before Uriel, and Zerothiel was in front of him also kneeling.

"We all felt it, my lord... you have been born as a Dark Tyrant Prince, the one who carries the seed of the Dark Lord that was lost since the last Dark Lord and Demon King Kaharam disappeared.

Listen, everyone... go and spread the good news to the dark world, a Dark Tyrant Prince has finally been reborn, someone with the power to unify the dark world. We, the demons of Abbadom, are under your command."

A great shout in unison saying "We will serve our lord" was heard throughout the place. Hordes of demons were prostrated as if before a King, with their faces to the ground, emanating dark energy from their bodies as a sign of how strong and useful they would be for their new lord.

"Go ahead, spread the news throughout the dark world."

Thus, the countless demons returned to the dark world, and Uriel closed the portal as he rose from the seat Zerothiel had made for him.

"You did very well, Zero, that was great."

"I do not deserve your beautiful words, my lord, besides, I thank you for helping me with the crowd of undead, I was able to focus on those guys without any distractions."

"What could those guys really have been?"

"I don't know, my lord, but they said they were avatars of fallen gods from a celestial war. To be honest, being near them reminded me of a feeling I had experienced before."

"You mean...?"

"I expected nothing less from you, Lord Uriel, you are correct. However, there is something different. I suppose they are similar yet distinct entities."

"We can't keep wasting time, we must move quickly."

"As you command."

Once again, Uriel and Zerothiel mounted their horses and continued their journey. The road ahead was completely calm; it seemed the desert was a place that even monsters avoided, so everything was peaceful. They managed to camp during their journey and continued when necessary. Thus, after leaving the desert, they entered some plains where the map indicated that ahead lay the border of the Kingdom of Rindelnort, so they decided to stop and examine the area a bit. The marked place where the sword capable of wounding even gods was said to be was not far from the border.

"We arrived faster than expected despite what happened in the desert."

"Yes, my lord, it was very useful to have brought the demonic horses."

"According to this map, we must descend the hill and enter the forest over there."

After finding the path, they descended the hill they had been observing from and reached the border of Rindelnort. They encountered no guards since the vast plains bordered the dangerous desert, making it almost impossible for anything to enter from that place. Finally, they were in Rindelnort and set up near a huge rock where they camped one last time before reaching their destination.

The next day, they resumed their journey to the Forest of Not. The only thing they knew was that the location they sought was within that forest, but they had no other clues, so Uriel summoned some demons to help search for signs or strange places. They slid and swept through the forest efficiently, making a horizontal sweep of the entire area. After a few hours, one finally reported finding a strange cave inside which there seemed to be ancient ruins, so Uriel headed to that place. Indeed, there was a small cave they entered, but inside was a spacious area, and before them stood what seemed to be an ancient temple. However, a powerful barrier blocked their passage, so Uriel activated his ability Struggle while touching the barrier. A hole opened in it, allowing him and Zerothiel to enter.

—What? I thought the barrier would break; it must be because it has a constant magic flow.

They decided to explore the temple a bit and found an altar upon which rested a very bright sword, with inscriptions carved into the stone below it. The inscriptions read: "This is Adámanas, the Sword of the Heavens, capable of cutting through all." However, when Uriel examined it with his ability, he realized it was only a sword with some high attributes. Uriel remembered an old law from his previous world: true treasures are not placed in plain sight, but buried beneath golden lies.

Distrusting the altar before him, he raised his scythe and reduced it to rubble with a single strike.

Beneath, hidden among petrified roots, a staircase spiraled down into the darkness. Without hesitation, Uriel and Zerothiel descended.

In the heart of the underground chamber, solitary and suspended on a pedestal of black bone, shone a scarlet orb—pulsating, almost alive. The air around it vibrated with the pulse it emitted, like an echo.

When Uriel extended his hand, the orb did not wait. A line of red light shot toward the scythe, binding itself as if they had been linked since before time itself.

A dark wind burst from the ground; the scythe was enveloped in a whirlwind of shadows, and from that consuming darkness, a bright red glow began to burn like molten iron.

Then, a voice was heard. Faint. Whispering—one that even Zerothiel didn't perceive, but Uriel did. A voice not from outside... but from the scythe itself.

"Uriel... Eras... Years... I have waited. Take me. Wield my blade. And I will tear the heavens for you. Your will shall be mine... and together, no god will remain standing."

Your scythe has acquired the individual name: DAELVACHOR.

Daelvachor: The Scythe of the Beginning.

With this blade, you will cut even the auroras... and the sky shall tremble.//

For a few seconds, the weapon revealed a second form: an elongated shape, curved like the smile of a crescent moon, with glowing veins pulsing beneath its surface, giving it a living appearance. Then, slowly, it returned to its usual form, as if its true power still slept.

Uriel gazed at his weapon, and in the silence, he murmured:

"So now your name is... Daelvachor."

"And now you possess the power granted to me by the one who created everything."—the scythe whispered again.

Zerothiel knelt, lowering his head in respect.

"Congratulations on obtaining the Orb of Adámanas, my lord."

"We did it. It seems it merged with my scythe. It appears to have consciousness, it even has its own name."

"That is magnificent, my lord. What name does it bear?"

"I wanted to name it myself... but it has the individual name 'Daelvachor.'"

"An imposing name... worthy of your main weapon, my lord."

"Yes... I think so too."

—Better not tell him I was thinking of naming it Wellington, or Kun Kun. I think I'd lose all his respect. But those were the names of my canaries in my past life.

"Zero... It's time to go back."
