The night air in Konoha was cool, carrying the scent of pine and stone as it swept over the carved faces of the Hokage Monument. High above the sleeping village,
bathed in the silver radiance of a full moon, Indra lay back against the cold stone, his gaze fixed on the stars.
He was thinking deeply. The mission his team had just completed was supposed to be routine, yet those mysterious figures in black had changed everything.
This doesn't match canon at all, Indra thought, rubbing his temples as a headache began to pulse behind in his head. 'Who were those guys? I've never heard of them in the original work. Honestly, I feel cheated.
That 'God" told me things would be slightly different, but this is a whole new world.
It wasn't just the enemies. Himawari was Boruto's twin here. Tsunade and Jiraiya actually had a son.
But the black-clad shinobi were the real anomaly, a variable that made Indra's gut churn with the certainty that something massive was looming on the horizon.
His thoughts drifted from the shadows of the mission to the gilded halls of the Capital.
"This entire system... one village, one country... it's utter trash," he muttered to the empty sky.
To Indra, it was a farce. A weakling like the Daimyo, a man who couldn't mold a single drop of chakra, held the leash of the Hokage. Shinobi, The actual people with strength, the literal peak of human capability, were forced to bow to arrogant, pathetic nobles. Honestly if original Indra was alive he would probably angrily laugh to death.
It was this very system that birthed the Great Shinobi Wars, conflicts far more catastrophic than the Sengoku period ever was. Even in this "peace," the corruption ran deep. The nobles pulled the strings, manipulating the shadows for their own profit.
Indra's lip curled in distaste. He couldn't accept it. He wouldn't. He wasn't born to be a pawn, and he certainly wasn't born to be ruled.
No one is born to stand in the heavens,* he thought, his eyes narrowing.
The world needed unity. With the looming threat of the Otsutsuki, beings who sought to devour the planet and every soul on it,the internal bickering of the Five Great Nations was worse than trivial,
it was a death sentence. The world already had a unified language and writing system; the foundation for a single empire was there. It just needed someone strong enough to seize it.
But to do that, he had to grow. He had to surpass his "cheap" father, Sasuke, and the Seventh Hokage, Naruto. They were the legends of the old world, and they would undoubtedly be his greatest obstacles to the unification he envisioned.
I can't repeat the original Indra's mistake, he reminded himself. *I can't be too arrogant to think I can do this alone. I need a force. Like-minded partners. Powerful, influential allies who see the world for the rot it truly is.
He thought of his companions.
I'm sorry, my companions. You might like this peaceful life, but I refuse to submit to a corrupt system. I will overthrow everything that tries to control me.
In that moment of cold, crystalline resolve, all hesitation vanished.
Inside his eyes, his Three-Tomoe Sharingan began to spin with a violent, frantic energy. The three marks bled into one another, swirling until they formed a sharp, intricate whirlpool pattern.
The Mangekyō Sharingan.
The "peace" of Konoha had been a cage, keeping his eyes dormant. But with his mind finally made up, the power surged through him like a tidal wave.
Indra sat up, a dark, confident smirk tugging at his lips as he felt the surging power of his new visual prowess.
He stood at the edge of the Hokage's head, looking up at the moon, with determination he declared to in his mind..
Since the beginning, no one has ever stood in the heavens," Indra declared internally to himself. "Neither I, nor even Kaguya Otsutsuki. Not even the Sage of Six Paths himself. But that unbearable vacancy in the throne of heaven will be filled.
His eyes glowed crimson in the moonlight, cold and absolute.
From this day forth... I will be the one to stand in the heavens...
**Narrator's Note:**
And so, it began. This was the moment that birthed the legend of Indra Uchiha,
the man who would later be known as the First Emperor of the Shinobi World and the King of the Beginning.
In the centuries to follow, he would be remembered as the one who finally broke the cycle of war, the man honored by the heavens themselves.
And the people would call him the!!!
The Honored One.
