Leo didn't bother explaining himself; could he really say, "I've evolved too much, and you're still… natives?" That would only piss everyone off.
So he pretended not to notice and looked at Jane and Daisy.
"What's wrong? What's going on with you two?"
Both women shook their heads blankly. If they knew, that would be something else entirely.
"I don't know what's going on."
"Me neither."
Leo didn't dwell on it and quickly changed the subject.
"I advise you not to sit with Thor, or we'll all end up embarrassed along with him later."
His cryptic tone made everyone pause.
Looking at Thor, who was grinning mischievously with knife and fork in hand, they suddenly had a bad feeling and moved away.
Thor looked around, confused.
"Why is everyone moving to another table?"
Jane gave a sheepish smile. "It's nothing. We just thought you had a big appetite, so we ordered more food for you. You can have a whole table to yourself."
Thor immediately became even more excited.
"Haha! Thank you! I knew you Midgardians worship the great Thor!"
Everyone silently put black lines on their foreheads. Who does this guy think he is?
This guy's brain was all muscle; no wonder his divine power was stripped away. The legendary image of Thor was completely ruined.
The restaurant staff worked quickly. This small eatery prioritized speed, simplicity, and affordability over fancy presentation.
Within minutes, all the dishes were served.
Leo and the others ate slowly and casually, but Thor devoured his food like a whirlwind.
After finishing a steak and chugging a bottle of beer, he slammed the glass on the floor.
"Waiter! Another one!"
Nearby diners were stunned. Is this guy insane? They could eat, sure, but smashing glasses? Wasteful and provocative!
The waiter panicked, yelling for help. "Bob! Dean! Someone's trashing the place!"
Two burly chefs burst out from the kitchen, one holding a gun, one a knife.
"Where is he? Who dares!?"
Seeing their brothers arrive, the waiter's confidence surged. He pointed at Thor. "It's that long-haired hooligan lunatic! Get him!"
The chefs stomped toward Thor. "Hey, kid! Heard you're trying to dine and dash and trash our place?"
Thor, confused, raised his hands. "No, no! I just want another beer! I didn't mean to trash anything!"
Earth customs differed from Asgard, and Thor had no idea he was breaking rules.
Leo couldn't hold it in anymore and laughed.
Stepping forward, he said, "Brother, don't rush. This kid is our friend. He got his head squeezed by a door as a child, so sometimes he's not very bright. Forgive him."
He handed the restaurant a hundred bucks. "Cover the glass, and give him a few beers on us."
The crowd relaxed. No one could afford to provoke a lunatic who could easily tear through them.
Jane and the others finally understood why Leo had warned them earlier. Sitting with Thor would have been… disastrous.
The meal ended. Magneto paid the bill, and the group set off again.
By now, S.H.I.E.L.D. had sealed off the area around Mjolnir, forbidding ordinary civilians from approaching.
They weren't unwilling—they simply lacked the strength.
Leo and Jane camped in a nearby town. As an astronomer, Jane could use the event for research, her equipment gathering advanced data.
That evening, while everyone barbecued, Leo subtly hinted at Thor.
The Asgardian, excited by the idea of retrieving his hammer, was barely able to wait.
"Are you going to try for that hammer later?"
"I advise you not to trust everything you hear," Leo said casually.
Thor frowned. What do you mean, 'everything I hear?' But he ignored it.
"As long as I get Mjolnir, I can regain my divine power and return to Asgard!"
Thor was elated. His divine power would soon be restored—a joyous occasion indeed.
"Ha! Meow-Meow Hammer??"
Jane laughed out loud. The name was ridiculous.
"It's Mjolnir! Not Meow-Meow Hammer!" Thor barked, offended.
"Yes, yes… Mjolnir! Not Meow-Meow Hammer!" Jane tried to hold in her laughter, but her shoulders betrayed her.
Thor felt deeply insulted.
After nightfall, pouring rain covered the town. Taking advantage of the storm, Thor slipped away quietly.
Leo opened his eyes; the action had begun. He activated his Dimensional Space and silently followed.
Even stripped of divine power, Thor's Asgardian physique made him several times stronger than a normal human.
A thousand years of combat across the Nine Realms honed his skills.
S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were formidable, but in Thor's presence, they instinctively yielded.
In short order, he broke through layers of encirclement and approached Mjolnir.
He didn't realize how obvious his movements were.
In his arrogance, he believed humans were weak, unaware they were being allowed to approach deliberately.
Coulson and his team were eager to see who dared approach and if anyone could stop the Asgardian's advance.
