Leo was noncommittal. This guy's calculations were loud and clear, but what good would all his scheming do?
With all the schemes, Leo would break them with his own strength.
By the time he achieved his goal, he would already be invincible.
Still, he was a little intrigued by the Timekeepers Mephisto had mentioned.
How unlucky must one be to be sent to deal with the cunning Dimensional Demon God!
Leo smiled. "Mephisto, I'm interested in meeting them, but I need to go on a long trip soon. Anyway, they're monitoring me on Earth, right? Show me what they look like, and I'll find them myself."
Mephisto's heart swelled with joy. Indeed, one should never underestimate others' desire for revenge!
The Time Variance Authority had stretched its hand too far, meddling in all Worlds. It deserved its retribution.
"Hehe, alright. You can know their movements at any time. This is what they look like."
Suppressing his wild joy, Mephisto waved his hand and replicated the appearance of the Timekeepers.
Leo nodded after seeing them. Once he returned, he would look for Loki and the others.
Before crossing over, he didn't know how far the plot had progressed.
Twist after twist—the plot thickened.
At this moment, Leo appeared before Steve and transmitted a message directly into his mind.
"Steve, do you want Bucky to be resurrected?"
"You??"
Steve's eyes widened, utterly shocked.
"Haha, no need to be surprised. Believe me, it can be done, but I need you to do something for me," Leo said calmly.
Since Mephisto wanted to venture into abandoned timelines to massively collect souls and strengthen Hell, Leo naturally couldn't let him work for nothing.
Steve calmed instantly and replied in a deep voice, "What do I need to do?"
"Steve, you'll go to the Hell Dimension first. There, you can live with Bucky for a while. Once you've thoroughly understood all the military deployments and distribution of major forces in Hell, I will attack. At that time, I'll arrange for Bucky to be resurrected in another Universe."
Leo's plan was clear: find Hell's layout, its major forces, and conquer it. The vanguard would naturally be Steve.
The moment Mephisto appeared, a new plan was born in Leo's mind.
Occupy Hell, let the Soul Stone control the World's souls, and thus control the souls of the Multiverse.
The bargaining chip to make Steve cooperate? Bucky. A minor character, yet still useful.
Letting him die was utilization; letting him live was still utilization.
Steve was so scared at Leo's plan to conquer Hell that he dared not breathe loudly.
He couldn't believe Leo's ambition—to defy the Dimensional Demon Gods themselves. Such courage he had never seen before.
Suppressing his shock, Steve took a deep breath and nodded fiercely.
"I promise you!"
"Haha, very good. Your choice is correct!"
Leo laughed heartily and withdrew from his mind.
Outside, Mephisto, unaware he had been schemed against in seconds, busied himself with calculating how to secretly collect souls.
"Mephisto, now take Steve and leave. I'll notify you once I'm ready."
"Alright, I'll await your good news," Mephisto replied, maintaining a gentlemanly smile, though inwardly overjoyed.
He led the restored Steve toward a black portal.
Suddenly, Leo called out inexplicably:
"Moustache!"
Mephisto froze, replying subconsciously:
"Does My Lord still need me?"
Oh no! The moment he spoke, he realized his mistake. He had exposed himself instantly!
Shit! How could he be so careless? He cursed himself for being a fool.
He quickly tried to remedy it. "My Lord, what are you saying? Who is that Moustache? There's no one else here. I thought you were calling me."
Mephisto chuckled awkwardly, face pale with embarrassment. He could never admit that he was Moustache.
He had instigated countless wars to collect souls—if Leo struck him in anger, he'd die instantly.
Seeing Mephisto confess without prompting, Leo knew his mind clearly.
Glancing at him, Leo said faintly, "Those are all things of the past. I won't bring up old grievances to kill you, but I am displeased."
"My Lord, you see… what compensation do you want? Anything I have," Mephisto said quickly, eager to please.
"Keep your things for now, but I have a suggestion. Aren't you going to collect souls? That disgusting Plaster Country has a huge population. Do you understand what to do?"
Leo's voice was calm, casual, yet laced with deadly intent. Steve shivered.
He was planning to exterminate a race. How ruthless! Could this be an ancestral feud?
Most of that country's people had hatred etched deep into their bones. Steve had seen much online, but never someone as ruthless as Leo.
Steve's discomfort was met with Mephisto's unmasked excitement. This wasn't punishment—it was a heaven-sent gift.
He had always acted in secret, never so brazen. With Leo's permission, what did he have to fear from the Ancient One? He could go all out.
Mephisto left with Steve, grateful. As they departed, Leo flicked a finger at Steve.
He couldn't rely entirely on him—contingencies had to remain.
After Mephisto left, the Ancient One shattered space and arrived.
"Alas, why must you do this?"
She sighed deeply, face full of compassionate helplessness.
"Ancient One, you don't understand! How much pain is here! How much hatred is here! Not just this Universe, but many! Many Universes!"
"I want to conquer the Time Variance Authority, conquer Hell, and make these beasts suffer the torments of Hell for all eternity!"
