Tonia's POV
The familiar face in the crowd confirmed my worst fears. She was here, watching me with those predatory eyes that seemed to strip away every layer of protection I thought I had.
How had she gotten an invitation to this private gathering? What was her game?
Today she wore an elegant evening dress that should have softened her appearance, but the intricate tattoos snaking up her arms and neck only made her look more dangerous. Like a wolf dressed as a sheep. The formal attire looked wrong on her somehow, as if she belonged in leather and denim rather than silk and lace.
I forced myself to look away, desperate to find something else to focus on. But my eyes kept drifting back to her. She was a predator in a room full of prey, and I was her target.
Did she already know who I really was? Was that why she had come?
