Tonia's POV
For what felt like an eternity, I stood completely still, my mind blank and my body refusing to move forward.
Every instinct screamed at me to turn around and walk away. What if somehow the dead woman could still reveal what I had done?
I knew how ridiculous that sounded. But my thoughts were scattered and irrational right now.
I forced my feet to move. I needed to understand what everyone was thinking. Only then could I figure out how to handle this nightmare I had created.
When I reached the entrance, I saw all the familiar faces gathered inside. Kermit stood closest to the front. The lifeless body remained exactly where I had left it, a horrifying reminder of what my hands had done.
"What are these strange marks around her wrists?" Luna Estelle questioned, her voice cutting through the tense silence.
Kermit knelt down to examine them more closely. From his confused expression, it was obvious he had never seen anything like this before.
