Tonia's POV
The words hit me like a physical blow. Three weeks suspension echoed in my mind as the President continued speaking from behind his imposing desk.
"Many colleagues have spoken favorably about your record here," he continued, his voice carrying the weight of institutional authority. "However, this incident cannot be overlooked. Based on the investigation findings—" He lifted a formal document from the thick file before him. "—you are hereby suspended from Trinity Central Hospital for three weeks."
The blood drained from my face. My pulse hammered against my temples as I struggled to comprehend what I'd just heard.
Not termination. Not months of suspension. Three weeks.
Had I misheard? The shocked murmurs rippling through the boardroom confirmed I hadn't imagined anything. Three weeks was practically nothing compared to what I'd expected.
