The other mechanical tentacle finally reacted and quickly chased after Peter. But Peter avoided a direct confrontation, continuing to circle Doctor Octopus. The tentacles were long, but they couldn't handle this maneuver. Doctor Octopus had to keep his body turning to follow Peter, preventing the tentacles from accidentally wrapping around himself. To maintain better control, he even diverted one of the two tentacles used to anchor himself, joining the chase. Meanwhile, the tentacle Peter was holding tightly thrashed violently. Each mechanical tentacle had 8 tons of strength, but against Peter's superhuman grip (now exceeding 20 tons), it was a futile struggle.
"Alright, stop, stop!" Doctor Octopus had had enough. He was just a scientist and a scholar; his body was not enhanced and couldn't endure such intense combat. If he hadn't retained one tentacle for auxiliary support, he would have collapsed from exhaustion already.
"What do you want from me?" Doctor Octopus asked, panting in rage.
"Angry? You're angry? That's all you got?" Peter finally tasted the joy of overwhelming an opponent. Getting a little carried away, he immediately deployed Spider-Man's special magical technique—Trash Talk Attack (Taunt Style).
Doctor Octopus's forehead vein pulsed.
Peter, leveraging his "circling maneuver" and trash talk, finally found Doctor Octopus's vulnerability. He used his free right hand to shoot a web, grabbing the mechanical tentacle chasing him. With a pull and a quick mid-air spin, he entangled the two mechanical tentacles together. That wasn't all. Having learned from Spider-Man Noir's pragmatic philosophy, Peter adhered to the principle of "striking when the enemy is down." Peter gripped the web binding the two tentacles with his right hand, leaped into the air, found the perfect angle, extended his left hand, and fired a rapid barrage of web-fluid projectiles. The web-fluid burst upon impact, forming layers of small nets. The overlapping nets tightly bound the two mechanical tentacles. Even with their individual 8-ton strength, they couldn't break free immediately.
Doctor Octopus didn't dare continue this. He ordered the remaining auxiliary tentacle to attack Peter. The last two tentacles lashed out at Peter, trying to stop him from further disabling the other two.
But Peter had already achieved his goal! From the beginning, his true target was Doctor Octopus himself! As everyone knew, Doctor Octopus was just an ordinary, stout middle-aged man; his combat power relied entirely on the four mechanical tentacles. When he lost the protection of his tentacles and a super-enhanced fighter like Spider-Man closed the distance, the outcome was predictable.
WHAM! Peter delivered an uppercut, smashing Doctor Octopus squarely on the jaw. Doctor Octopus's eyes rolled back, and he instantly passed out. This was Peter holding back considerable strength. If he had hit with full force, he could have shattered the man's skull!
ZZZT! However, while Doctor Octopus was unconscious, the tentacles, imbued with AI, remained active. One mechanical tentacle lunged at Peter again.
Peter was surprised that the tentacles could still operate independently. The movie didn't show this, and he had assumed they were an integrated unit. Peter leaped back lightly, dodging the attack.
Just as he prepared to counter, the two remaining tentacles quickly and intelligently dragged Doctor Octopus's unconscious body away. "That intelligence level is impressive," Peter remarked, raising an eyebrow. He had no intention of chasing them.
For Peter, who knew the movie's plot, finding Doctor Octopus again wouldn't be difficult. His priority now was to meet the Spider-Man of this world. The first generation, the Tobey Maguire version—The Bully Maguire Spider-Man!
Peter didn't revert his suit. He leaped directly off the high-rise and dropped toward the train car below.
In the short time Peter (Earth-616) was fighting Doctor Octopus, the train below had finally been brought to a halt by Tobey-Spidey. Having exerted superhuman, possibly limit-breaking force, Tobey-Spidey was nearly drained of energy. The grateful passengers, whom he had risked his life to save, carefully lifted him from the nose of the train—which was now protruding over the missing tracks—and carried him to the safety of the second car.
"Be careful, gently, slowly..." They worked together to place Tobey-Spidey on the carriage floor. "Is he alive?" a woman holding a child quietly asked. "He's..." A middle-aged man looked with disbelief at the young face beneath Tobey-Spidey's torn mask. "He's just a kid! He's not even as old as my son!" Others also stared at Tobey-Spidey's face, shocked. The hero, Spider-Man, who had selflessly protected them without asking for reward, was just a teenager! (Based on the film's timeline, Peter Parker was bitten at 15 and this scene occurs roughly two years later, around 17).
Just then, Tobey-Spidey slowly regained consciousness. Seeing the crowd gathered around him, he was instantly alarmed. His mask had been discarded during the fight when it caught fire. This meant... His identity was exposed!
Tobey-Spidey was bewildered and a little panicked. He quickly sat up. A Black man approached him gently: "It's alright now." The man then motioned behind him and called over two children. The children were holding Tobey-Spidey's discarded mask. Although partially scorched and distorted, the fire was out.
"We won't tell anyone," The young boy said with a look of serious commitment. Tobey-Spidey thanked them, took the mask, and quickly put it back on.
THUD! Just as Tobey-Spidey stood up, preparing to say something, a faint sound came from the roof of the train car. At the same time, Tobey-Spidey frowned. His Spider-Sense was screaming! Danger! No! Wait... it didn't feel like danger?
Tobey-Spidey was confused. This was the first time he had experienced such a strange reaction. His Spider-Sense usually warned of imminent threats, but this time...
SWISH! A figure suddenly swung down alongside the train car. A moment later, the side window was gently tapped twice, and a head wearing a Spider-Man mask appeared outside. "Hi!"
Tobey-Spidey's eyes widened instantly. "What the—!"
The passengers inside burst into an uproar. "Another Spider-Man appeared!" "Why are there two Spider-Men?"
Tobey-Spidey quickly rushed to the door, leaped onto the roof of the train car, wincing at the pain in his body: "Who are you?"
"Me? I'm also Spider-Man!"
