Why is it that the moment I die (rather tragically, mind you) that the first thing I see is a system window you would normally see in video games welcoming me to the afterlife? And why the hell am I stuck in some limbo area that is entirely white?
[You have been randomly selected to be granted the chance to enter a different universe!]
"Oh shit, really? That sounds awesome!"
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I may have died (tragically) but at least I get to go to a different universe!
"Will I also get powers when going to the new universe?"
[Yes!]
"Hell yeah! Do I get to pick my powers!?"
[No!]
"Oh. Do I get to choose where I go?"
[No!]
"What the hell!? Then are you choosing what my powers are and where I go?"
[Not exactly!]
"What the fuck does that mean!?"
I was starting to feel like I was getting trolled. I don't get to choose my powers, the universe I go to, and the system gives me some vague response like "Not exactly" to choosing where I go and my powers. I bet I'm just going to be stuck here in the white room for eternity, aren't I?
I decided to take a couple of deep breaths, calming my rising anger, before asking the system a very important question.
"I'm not being trolled, am I? Could you kindly explain to me what you mean by "not exactly?""
[Certainly! You will become the host of the Multiversal Gacha System. A system where your actions or meeting certain objectives get you "rolls". Which you then can "roll" to get anything possible in the multiverse. Anime, game, book, comic, etc.]
[As for where you will be going, it is random! Your powers? You will get one innate ability, one main "power" and one support "power", along with three items. All again randomized!]
Oh fuck. Gacha? Like luck-based draws gacha? I may be what some would call a "normie" since I mainly worked ever since getting out of high school, but I do know at least a few animes and comics. And knowing my luck there is no way my next life is going to go well! I might get some bullshit like Yamcha's powers and end up in the Pre-Crisis DC universe!
Knowing how bad my luck is, I decided to do the only thing sensible in this situation. Prostrate myself and beg the gacha gods for mercy!
"Please, gacha gods! Please show mercy on my unfortunate self!"
[Would you like to start rolling for where you will be going and what powers and items you will receive? All rolls will be done at once.]
"Hopefully I get lucky for once." I sigh at myself. "Yes, let's start rolling."
[Multiversal Gacha System is now active! Initiating rolls...]
Suddenly, sounds akin to that of slot machines started to ring out. I started to get nervous when the noise went on for a solid five minutes before a "Ding! Ding! Ding!" rang out.
[Congratulations, you will be going to the Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss Universe!]

[Acquired Technique "Limitless" (Jujutsu Kaisen) for main power!]

I stared at the screen for a bit. Looking over the rolls I just got, I felt thrilled! While I don't know anything about the universe I am going to, or why my innate ability is "Unwitting Playboy", I do know about most of the stuff I was given!
For instance, the cursed technique "Limitless" from Jujutsu Kaisen. It is a cursed technique from a character called Satoru Gojo. Considered the strongest cursed sorcerer in the show! While I don't know the exact details about Limitless, I do know it makes him practically untouchable!
As for the supporting power being a super saiyan transformation!? Dragon Ball Z was one of my favorite animes! Given it includes GT, does that mean I will get SSJ4 along with 2 and 3 before that? How cool is that! I do wonder how the system will quantify the strength of the transformations given the multiple debates about how the multipliers are calculated.
Looking at my items, I easily overlooked the first one, Pocket Sand. No point worrying about some basic sounding item. The second item was a cosmetic one. While I do think Dante Zogratis looked cool especially with the possession mark in Black Clover, I don't see how a cosmetic was going to help unless I got Luciferos powers along with it.
Then we finally come to the last item, the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown. While Overlord is another one of the animes I liked to watch, I don't know much about the staff itself other than its supposed to be overpowered and precious.
Now that I am looking at what I got, why are there not any rankings for the powers and items I received? "System?"

Oh ok. Hopefully the strength of the rolls I got don't change too much once I enter that universe.
I was about to ask the system for specifics on what I obtained when the system spoke out again.

"Wait!" I yell, "Can you at least let me examine what I got in depth before going!?"

"Um, yes system?"
[You will be arriving ten minutes before the annual extermination begins. Please be safe and enjoy your new life in Hell! ^.^]
"WAIT! WHAT THE FU-"
Before I could continue cussing the system out, my vision shifted, and everything went dark.
