Sunny did not know where he was or how he got here.
'My head hurts.'
A splitting pain, reaching the deepest depts of his mind pierced his thoughts.
Every thought he had was being pierced by raging pain. He could not concentrate on anything, the pain was simply overwhelming.
'just opening my eyes is painfull.'
Just as he thought that a vain over his left eye broke. Blood is flowing inside his eyeballs, coloring them red and filling them with a burning sensation. It was similar to getting the toxic rain of the outskirts into ones eyes.
The air pollution and all the heavy metals of the dark ages have turned the ph value of the rain and soil pretty low. While it was not deadly to get wet from th rain itb irretated the skin and did considerable damage to the mucous membrane of the body.
It did not happen often but once or twice did he have the displeasure of getting this rain in his eyes.
It took almost an hour until he could think again.
'What happened?'
'I cant remember anything after the conversation with the deer? Wait.. whats a deer?
'Is the thing I spoke to the deer the rodant mentioned.' Sunny thought a bit astonished.
Since the dark ages most of the animals on earth have gone extinct. Thats why it was a bit wonderous to see those animals he heard about so much on his communicator.
'But thats not important right now. What happened after I talked to the deer?'
He already had his suspicions. In his vision he saw a hard to miss creature that he has been warned about.
'The fox!'
While Sunny was scanning his sorroundigs he simultaniusly thought about torturing that damned fox.
'When I get to see that maggot of a person again im going to impale him on one of those trees.'
Cursing out the fox in his mind he left its den as quickly as possible.
'The fox as atleast a devil, that is for sure.'
While he could sense the souls of creatures with the help of [The Heart] he did not know how to differentiate ranks. It was easy enough to count the amount of lights inside ones soul he had nothing to mesure the strengh of the light. the strengh of the deer and the birds was wide, that was apparent. But he did not know how wide. He didnt know if they two or three ranks appart or what rank the deer even was.
With enough experience differentiating this should not be a problem.
The deer he met was a perfect measuring point.
'The smal deer behind the cronwned one were weaker but not dormant. Their soul shone too bright for that to be the case. That would mean the crowned deer is acendet.'
Instinctivley Sunny knew what rank the three birds would have.
'They are deitys. Creatures of the sacred rank.'
'But that would mean the twilight beast is even stronger. The mere sight of it almost destroyed my mind.'
The answer to the rank and class of the twilight beast made his stomach flip.
Divine and acred or unholy and cursed abominations were the stuff of legends. Never in the history of human kind did anybody encounter either one. And he encountered both... IN HIS FIRST NIGHTMARE.
While thinking about his dear friend [Fated] and how much he loved him his attention was cought by a sudden rise in air pressure.
Scanning the environment he notices a grou of animals.
'There are at least 17 of them. And there also is the fox.' He thought while feeling rage and fear about the latter.
Just as he dreaded the fox called out to him, a hint of agression hidden in his voice.
"My dear friend, come to me, quickly."
Thinking about the fox he continued his walk toward the herd of varying creatures.
'It most likely knows i have broken out of his controll. What hinders him from placing the mind hex on him? Nothing.'
He could already feel it. The act of walking to the fox wich he had dreaded did not seem that bad anymore. Thenearer he got the more he enjoyed it.
'Im glad my friend is including me in his discussion, he must really care for me.'
The Fox tried to scare the creatures, to take away there hope of surviving. by now everyone in the forest knew about the monster and now they even knew its name.
'This cunning bastard will use me and my new vision to scare them even more. but Why? What benefit does he gain through it?'
Slowly but surely his thoughts were being overwritten. Every curse he wanted to send against the fox turned into a praise.
'The fox just wants to help us, to save us from the monsters.'
Then the fox asked him.
"Your vision. Tell them about your vision. You saw the twilight beast."
Not wanting to help the fox in his planes he was forced to speak by something out of his controll.
"I got more clues today, to warn you. I saw fire, The forest was burning, clouds of ash covering both the sky and the ground. Creatures of the outside, horrifying wraiths, disgusting piles of flesh and furr were walking inside the forest. Then inside of the forest darkness itself came alive. The Darkness expanded growing taller than the trees, seeking to destroy all of us. "
He did not want to say it but the fox was moving him like his marrionet. The fox went through his memories and made him say just what it wanted him to say.
he felt like a prisoner inside his on body. Like a spectater just observing a story.
The resident of the forest fell in disarray. How could they not? They were told the start of their end, of an apocalyps destined to fall on them.
Some did not belive it at first but through the actions of the fox they all did eventually.
Many more creatures came to witness the comotion. it did not take long for the entire forest to gather here.
Panic and fear filled the air.
Soon enough even the guardians of the forest were there.
Atlest Big Bird And Judgement Bird were. His entier time in the forest he did not see punishment once.
Then he felt it.
'The mind hex has been lifted? Is it bacause of the birds, creatures of a vastly higher rank.'
He could finally controll himself again, his thought were his again.
The animals controlled by fear asked the birds for help.
"Are you going to help us?"
"Please protect us, the teilight beast will come"
"Doom will fall upon us."
Some asked for reassurance, hopefull it will not happen.
"Tell us nothing is going to happen. Promise it."
And some showed doubt to the birds.
"Are you even able to protect us?"
"How will you protect us at night, when the beast will attack us? When you yoursell are blind and everyone else is asleep"
Especially worried by the last remark the Big Bird showed his sincerity in protecting the forest.
He plugged out his featers, tens of thousends of fethers once used to cover his boney, disgustigly thin body were ripped away. Revealing his harrowing and disgusting body.
He took those fether and burned them, creating a lamp so hot it can evaporate rock in an instante. So bright it illuminated every shadow in the entire forest in an orange-blue tone. So bright it shone through the flesh of everyone and everything inside this forest.
Now it was under constant watch of the observer, The Bird watching over the fate of those residing in his territory.
The action had both strengthened the trust in him and the fear of him. The appearance terrified those who saw it more that anything they ever saw before,
The mind of Sunny himself had almost been whiped out completly. The only thing keeping him alive were the traits of a prophet. They had some resistance to beings higher than themselves. His aspect was his only lifeline.
In a fit of madness from one creature who could not handle the form of Big Bird , blood was spilled.
A gray haired animal, a wolf as sunny thought went into frenzie and bit i the neck of a small deer.
And thus the graetest sin was commited.
The smal bird who had rested on Sunnys shoulder moved to the wold and opened his beak.
The mouth of the bird split open, wider than should be possible. Then the mouth from inside grew outward, replacing the beak. It grew and grew and grew. It grew until it reached the size of an elephant. Whatever an elephan was.
And bit down.
The wolf disapeared only leaving a puddle of blood and organs behind.
Still realing in pain from witnessing the mouth Sunny wondered.
'Was this litte puny tiny thing punishment?
Thats when he noticed something important.
'there is something wrong with their souls. The birds... they are being tainted by corruption. Their souls loose the light wich once shone so brigh. They are turning cursed.'
An instant later everyone was fleeing.
