Chapter 582 - Chapter 131: Rebecca's Night (Part 2)

Mercer skillfully began introducing the others, quickly going through everyone present.

Qiwei, Sasha, Kyoko, and Pira also soon arrived in the room one after another. Everyone was easygoing, and after a brief introduction, they quickly started chatting and laughing together.

Mercer generously provided a variety of precious drinks, fruits, snacks, cigars, and other things for everyone to enjoy.

He himself sat on the sofa, smiling as he watched everyone chat, occasionally joining in with a few words but not dominating the conversation.

Soon, more people took the elevator up to this penthouse mansion.

The Adcardo cowboys Cassidy, Pan'an, Daichi, and Leon also came to the feast today.

Originally, Mercer considered inviting more people, like the always pleasantly cooperating Old Captain, but later decided against it.

Hosting such a large gathering was no small challenge for V, but thankfully she had accumulated plenty of experience. With Lucy, Dolio, and Mrs. Wilson helping, she managed to prepare a large, sumptuous dinner right on time.

Remarkably, the entire table was free from synthetic foods and canned vegetables, all made with fresh ingredients. Even the meats were high-end goods transported via cold chain, needing only simple grilling or cooking to become delicious and rare flavors in Night City.

Mercer also enjoyed a fair amount of whiskey, as the dinner stretched from six in the evening to past eight, yet the party wasn't over.

Mrs. Wilson and others who didn't like the noise retreated to their rooms to rest, since there were plenty of hotel rooms available for easy accommodation; the remaining guests, including Old Wei, were invited to continue the festivities in the Gem Cyan's banquet hall.

The banquet hall was essentially a high-end bar, equipped with a stage, bar, and even gaming tables.

Mercer, knowing what everyone liked, arranged for a boxing match performance that Old Wei, Jack, V, and others thoroughly enjoyed.

Daichi and Leon, who had stayed in Adcardo, seemed to have grown up a lot, not just in appearance but also in demeanor, giving off a bit of a rugged, wild aura, making them look entirely like Adcardans.

Mercer, Lucy, and Kyoko, after a long time, gathered again with Daichi, Leon, and Cassidy, reminiscing about their past starting at the Arasaka Base, wandering through the Evil Land, and arriving at Night City.

Even though the constant sandstorms were taxing at the time, worrying about food and drink, in retrospect, none of the hardships come to mind anymore—only memories of the beautiful landscapes they saw, the songs sung by the bonfire...

Unbeknownst to him, Mercer ended up drinking a bit too much—his artificial kidneys couldn't keep him from getting drunk after drinking for five or six hours straight.

Drowsily organizing everyone's hotel accommodations, Mercer swayed his way back to his room to sleep.

"I'll take care of it!"

Before anyone else could support Mercer, Rebecca unexpectedly popped out from nowhere, took his arm without a word, and sent him to the elevator.

Lucy and V, who had been keeping an eye on Mercer, instinctively exchanged a glance but then both looked away. When they looked back again, Mercer's figure had already disappeared.

Rebecca, with the power of her Gorilla Arm, wasn't just joking around. Even though Mercer's weight was even heavier due to body modifications, Rebecca casually kept him steady as she supported him.

Given her petite stature, supporting Mercer made it look like Mercer was using a crutch...

"Having a good time tonight? You drank quite a bit," Rebecca said, looking up at him. Mercer, at that moment, was squinting and seemed half-asleep.

"It's rare to gather so many people together. Who knows when we'll get a chance to meet like this again... I just felt happy."

After Mercer finished speaking, Rebecca smilingly said, "Oh, want to drink more later? Since you're having a good time, let's enjoy it to the fullest."

This time, Mercer really felt the effects of the alcohol. As he looked at her smiling at him, one hand supporting him and the other mischievously wandering, his breathing quickened for a moment.

Seeing this, Rebecca's eyes brightened. Without waiting for a response, she sent him into the room without a word.

The utensils from the meal had long been cleaned by the robot. Rebecca found some snacks and a few cans of beer before rushing into Mercer's room without a word.

Watching Mercer lie on the bed with his eyes closed as if asleep, she wasn't fooled, but rather smilingly leaned over him—Mercer opened his eyes before his clothes could disappear.

"What are you doing? It's time to sleep."

"Oh come on! I didn't dare drink much because I was acting as your bodyguard. Why not have a drink with me before sleeping? You had several bottles with Pan'an tonight, so why are you hesitating with me?"

Rebecca complained, wearing only a black tank top and shorts, her pale skin tinged with a peculiar green shining in the dim light.

As she leaned on Mercer, one strap on her somewhat loose tank top slid down her shoulder.

"Alright! Let's drink! Just no more touching," Mercer said, a bit exasperated, grabbing her hand.

Rebecca, somewhat displeased, said, "What's the point in touching now? There's not even a layer of synthetic skin inside, nothing but hard metal..."
