Chapter 160 - The Indestructible Vajra-3

Sensing my gaze, he looked back and said as he entered the portal, "You should have gone for the head."

What is he talking about?

System: "Host, that is an iconic line. Now he will use the infinity stone to snap and disintegrate half of the world's population."

Hearing the system's lame joke, I replied, "System, I know I watched that movie too. But why is he saying that? I didn't even get a chance to attack him."

System: "Host, maybe he is a distant relative of Thanos."

I was already irritated because I saw Gullnor enter the portal just as it closed. I missed my chance to attack him and he escaped when he realized he was going to lose. This feels like preparing hard for an exam only to discover it was leaked in a telegram group. Oh! That's a real-world situation. But never mind, I'm really angry now and this system keeps shouting lame jokes. In my frustration, I tried to find a way to follow that dragon.

Vik: "Please, system, can you be quiet? Go back to silent mode. I don't want to hear any more of your lame jokes."

System: "Okay, host, I won't disturb you anymore, but…"

Vik: "But what?"

System: "The system will return in Doomsday."

The system said this with the iconic Avengers music in the background.

Vik: (*_*)

Sigh! I sighed and ignored the system's cheap jokes. At this moment, I felt really tired. I could only see the empty sky since the portal Gullnor opened had closed and I couldn't do anything. Thinking about future problems, I felt scared. What if that cowardly dragon returns with more support and strength? I really need to improve my strength to at least the Transcendence realm.

This world is not simple anymore. Even a quiet mountain can hide a True dragon from the immortal realm. The Chosen One, whom we call the protagonist of the story, is nothing but a sacrifice for that dragon. The waters in this world run deep.

While lost in thought, I kept staring at the sky. Suddenly, I felt a little heat in my hand. Looking down, I saw the Vajra arrow radiating warmth. It felt like the arrow was trying to tell me something. I looked closer at the words written on it but couldn't make sense of those jumbled words. Then, the system's voice echoed in my head.

System: "Host, look around you."

Upon hearing this, I looked and was stunned. The miasma covering the mountains had completely vanished. The night sky was visible. But that wasn't what shocked me the most.

In front of me, various lights emerged from the deep forest of the Azure mountains. They were colorful lights making a chirping sound. If you looked closely, you would see they were small birds made of glowing lights. In the moonlight, the scene was magical and calming for me.

I recognized those birds; they belonged to Chakor's species. Sadness filled my heart as I realized they were all dead. What I saw were likely the spirits of the dead birds. The one responsible for all this had escaped in front of me, and I couldn't do anything to stop him.

Sensing my sadness, every bird flew toward me, circling around me. In a few minutes, the spirits of the birds surrounded me, soaring while circling me. Their presence eased my sadness a little. Then, as if playing with me, the birds started to chirp and perform acrobatics in the air.

Seeing them, I also started to fly, and without realizing it, I soared up into the planet's atmosphere along with the birds. Looking back at the world, I saw this place called Blue Star. Then I turned to the moon. The birds gazed at the moon, appreciating its beauty without any desire or obsession.

Surrounded by the birds, I felt the heat of the Vajra arrow again. A spirit flew out of it, and I recognized him immediately. It was Chakor. He flew onto my head, chirping. Remarkably, I could understand his words.

He told me, "You don't need to worry about Gullnor. Just aim this arrow while thinking about Gullnor, and he will take care of everything after that."

His voice sounded like my inner voice, as if I were speaking. Hearing it, I instantly believed him. Standing at the edge of the atmosphere, I held the Vajra arrow in front of me, closed one eye while thinking about the dragon Gullnor, and before I could realize what was happening, the arrow slipped from my hand.

It simply disappeared. But I didn't have time to think about it; my consciousness was becoming heavy, and I felt like I might pass out at any moment. Gathering my remaining strength, I began teleporting. After a series of jumps, I arrived at the gate of my mansion in Azure Mountain City. There, I fell unconscious.

POV: Third person

Far away from the world of Blue Star, a massive meteorite traveled close to the speed of light in deep space. If you looked closely, you would see that this meteorite had a serpentine shape. It was the dragon Gullnor, who escaped after sensing danger.

Gullnor was terrified as he used all his strength to flee back to the immortal plane and the safety of his clan. He was never the strongest among his peers, but he was the most cunning and cowardly. He would run whenever he sensed danger. This instinct had allowed him to survive and grow stronger.

A big part of this came from him being a Chosen One. Nevertheless, he wasn't one to fight a losing battle. He summoned all his power to open a large distance portal, escaping into deep space. Now, he used the power of the Heavenly Bead to fly at the speed of light toward the immortal plane. If everything went as planned, he would return home in a few months.

But he didn't understand why he still felt extreme danger. So, he increased his speed, almost flying at the speed of light. Eventually, he encountered a large armada of ships with various designs and technologies. The leading ship was a wooden boat decorated in a Xinxia style, with people standing on its deck.

At that moment, this was the armada of Rayborn, who was on his way to the Blue Star after sensing some anomalies there. As a Watcher, he needed to confirm any signs of an eldritch entity in that world. Sensing Gullnor, he looked in his direction. Under Rayborn's gaze, Gullnor shivered; he felt like a small worm facing a predator. Even from a distance, Gullnor sensed that Rayborn could kill him in seconds.

But sensing something else, Gullnor frowned. With an expression of dread, he placed his hand on the boat, teleporting himself and a large part of the armada with him. The other ships followed suit as if obeying his orders.

Gullnor didn't think about it as he focused on escaping. However, if he had looked back, he would have seen an arrow made of bird skeletons following him closely—not too fast, but not too far away, like a predator trailing its prey.

Author's Note

For those guys who don't know or forget about Rayborn, then please re-read chapter 47.

Rayborn is part of some intergalactic organization that deals with elderitch entities and anomalies. He is coming towards Vik because their organization faintly sensed waves emitted by the summoning of Pushpa, our favorite cat.

By the way, I'm trying to write the next few chapters on Adventures of Pushpa. You guys must also have noticed that Pushpa had been missing till all of these events, so where is she and what is she doing? We will find those answers in the next chapters.

So be prepared for the next adventures of Pushpa.

Caution: If you forget about Pushpa like most readers, then please do not panic; think calmly. The cat is an outer god-level entity, so remember the Cat is both dead and alive until you open the Review section and write your views about Pushpa.
