Sighing, I turned off the engine and stepped out, the guards instantly surrounding me. Too much hassle to push them away.
"This way, Your Majesty," the alpha beckoned.
Smiling faintly at the people, I followed him into the pack house and straight to his office.
"From here, you can see the other pack and the unclaimed land," he explained.
I peered through the window. Sure enough, I saw the other pack house in the distance, wolves stationed at the border, though a strip of empty land lay between them — the unclaimed territory. From this angle, it did seem closer to their land, but I couldn't jump to conclusions. That would reflect badly on Atlas.
Damn. I'd need to go over there myself.
"Arrange a meeting with their alpha," I ordered.
"He won't talk to me," the alpha sighed.
"Fine, call him."
He dialed, then handed me the phone.
After two rings, a man's harsh voice barked, "I told you not to call. Pathetic, trying to claim land that isn't yours."
