AUXILIARY CHAPTER: A Note from the Author (Why the Rewrite?)

Hello readers, old and new!

If you notice the [Rewritten] tag in the title, or if you are a returning reader noticing that things look a little different around here, I wanted to take a moment to explain exactly what's happening with The Scripted Fates.

I previously launched this novel on Webnovel, but looking back at the original version, I realized it didn't fully do justice to the story I wanted to tell. To put it bluntly: it wasn't performing as well as it could have, and as an author, I knew the quality just wasn't where it needed to be.

Here is exactly why I decided to tear things down and completely rewrite the novel from scratch:

1. Rushed Pacing: In the first draft, the story was practically "speedrunning" the plot. Ethan would encounter a massive world-changing event or a life-or-death battle, resolve it in a few paragraphs, and immediately jump to the next scene. It felt more like a summary than a living, breathing novel.

2. Lack of Depth and Sensory Details: The original chapters were far too short. They lacked the atmospheric weight, environmental friction, and emotional grit that makes a progression fantasy/litRPG story feel real.

3. Predictable, Rigid Structures: The old chapters fell into a repetitive loop—dialogue, system notification, immediate power-up, repeat. Human stories need room to breathe, turn, and surprise you.

What to Expect in this New Version

This isn't just a minor edit or a proofread—it is a complete narrative overhaul.

1. Elongated Chapters: Instead of short, rushed snippets, each chapter has been significantly expanded (targeting 1,200 to 2,000+ words) to meet proper webnovel standards and give you a meatier read.

2. Grounded Character Growth: Ethan's struggles, his isolation, and his interaction with the EXP Amplification System will carry real psychological weight. The system feels invasive and dangerous, and his victories will be hard-earned.

3. Immersive World-Building: You will actually experience the contrast between the high-tier colleges, the foul-smelling lower district tanneries, and the brutal environments he gets thrown into.

To my returning readers, thank you for sticking by me and showing love to the original concept. I promise you this version is vastly superior. To my new readers, welcome to a much darker, richer, and more detailed journey.
