Chapter 742 - Chapter 701: Is It Over?

Cut it in two.

Golden light blossomed for an instant in the darkness, and everything returned to black.

The mask on Su Ming's face peeled off, and he gasped slightly, shakily sitting down on a chair, feeling nothing but pain all over his body.

Even with comprehensive protection, during the repeated battleship explosions, he was like a can being blown away, and this time the injuries were severe.

Luckily, his willpower is strong, and he remains calm, consistently replicating tactics until he finally awaited the arrival of the Skrulls' 'royal army.'

The reason he transformed into a fatty Kree was simply due to some inconvenience in movement; fat people wobble while walking but don't easily reveal themselves.

If it weren't for Strangulation holding up, these injuries would have affected battle capabilities; the Kree people's technology and numbers are deadly.

Now the Symbiote is helping repair his internal organs, binding muscles from falling apart; his task has been stage-completed, so he can rest for a few minutes.

He fumbled for a cigarette, trembling as he lit it in his mouth, coughed twice, then looked at the corpse divided in two on the ground.

Actually, when the Skrull Fleet completed its hyper-jump, Su Ming infiltrated the Kree flagship. Relying on Strangulation's transformation ability and his earlier understanding from a dozen battles with other ships, he easily found the bridge location.

Strangulation extended a thread-like tentacle to relay things happening within the bridge to the host posing as a repair soldier from afar.

When the visitor left the bridge in a dazed state, Su Ming followed behind him. Despite the severe injuries, he had said he would find him, and he made good on his word; Deathstroke never speaks in vain.

The Kree people won't surrender, nor can they be swayed, because Supreme Wisdom might read their memories at any time, disrupting their soul, so once he found the visitor, he had to kill him directly.

When the curved blade descended, the guy could only show a terrified expression, without any resistance, but like an ordinary person, raised his arms to shield his face.

He was directly split into two segments, and as for the thing he seemingly held earlier, it flew off with the cut, not bothering about it.

Su Ming's attention shifted to the creature within the nearby cage.

The creature inside the cage had already turned its head, with luminous green eyes, flicking its fluffy tail, and extending a small tongue to lick the fur on its paw.

Seeing Su Ming staring at it, it tilted its head in curiosity.

"Meow?"

Who has ever seen a cat pointed at by multiple weapons and trapped behind layers of cages? There's one right here.

Su Ming naturally knew what this was, one of the most dangerous creatures in the Cosmos, with reproduction ability comparable to the Insect Race, and a host of troublesome abilities.

The cat-shaped species is named Franken, commonly known as Devouring Elemental Beast, but is actually a type of tentacle creature, simply cloaked in the cute external form of a cat.

They're not numerous in the Cosmos because their food is never sufficient; most Frankens die to hunting, as they're too dangerous, with the Cosmic Charter strongly recommending that any creature encountering a Franken must immediately apply warship main cannon-grade lethal force.

Yet, predators naturally attract some enthusiasts; in the black market, Franken prices are extremely high, even 'Collector' desires one but can't obtain it.

Seeing one here made Su Ming momentarily tempted, wanting to take it to the Lawless Land to sell.

Returning it to Earth is absolutely out of the question; a Franken lays over a thousand eggs in one go, and their diet similarly includes humans, animals, even buildings and objects.

The Alien movie has already depicted this—having such predators enter Earth is decisively not good news.

However, at the same time, his current condition isn't well; though he's assured not to die with Strangulation, facing a Franken, it's entirely unnecessary.

But it seemed quite leisurely now, having finished licking, it was now playing with its tail in an adorable manner.

Upon observing its relaxed state, Su Ming felt its danger level rise significantly; it knew its appearance was cute and cleverly exploited such disguises.

Felids now maintain a symbiotic relationship with humans, which could even be deemed completely parasitic. During the symbiotic era, cats helped humans catch mice; do any cats now catch mice? Aren't they all treated as masters, served and protected, simply because they're adorable.

Frankens exploit similar means to infiltrate various societies, charmed by their adorable exterior and adopted by ignorant life forms, traversing star systems using other races' means of transit, detonating from within societies like a biohazard, consuming entire planets wholesale.

Both options of taking and selling were ruled out; the best plan was letting it create more havoc for the Kree people, covering Su Ming's escape.

Su Ming had Strangulation drag over half of the visitor's corpse, placing it outside the cage; holding onto one of the visitor's legs, he shook it in front of the Franken.

And the cat sniffed, then abruptly turned its head away, seeming uninterested in flesh, yawning, front paws folded, head resting on them, appeared ready to continue sleeping.

"Strangulation."

A mass of tentacles emerged from Su Ming's body, directly swallowing the half Kree without leaving a bone.

The cat's eyes within the cage widened instantly, its little mouth opened slightly, looking surprised but then its gaze filled with regret.

Once there was half a Kree person placed in front of it, it didn't cherish it until it lost to express deep remorse, if only...

Su Ming didn't say more, language would certainly not be understood; Franken is simply a Beast.

The gene of the Kree people doesn't have much that Strangulation can utilize, except for turning the skin blue, there's no other special effect.

He directly drew his weapon and sliced the top off Franken's cage, then transformed, the cloak whisking him away in a flash.

Having just had Strangulation eat half a Kree in front of Franken, with the other half still on the ground, Su Ming didn't believe Franken wouldn't be tempted; no cat can resist the scent of fish.

More accurately, it's not even a cat; it eats anything smelly or fishy.

After Su Ming made his escape, Franken tentatively poked its head out of the cage, twitching its little ears, confirming that no living beings were around.

It then climbed out of the cage and looked up at the weapons aimed at the cage, tentatively taking a few steps, realizing these things no longer fired at it like they used to.

It jumped down from the table, walked along the bloodstains to the body, and suddenly opened its mouth as a large cluster of red tentacles surged out instantly.

The body remained the small cat, but from its mouth spewed forth various internal organs bristling with sharp teeth, almost filling the entire room.

With one gulp, it swallowed everything in the room, and the previously chaotic room instantly became as neat as new, with even the bloodstains licked clean.

Naturally, everything including tables, chairs, benches, and lab equipment were gone, leaving the whole room empty.

It contentedly squinted its eyes, licking its lips with a small tongue, as if savoring the lingering taste of that half-human.

Not quite enough, the stomach still feels empty.

At this moment, its small head turned to the door which the strange being left ajar while departing. It silently approached the gap in the door, peeked left and right, and slipped out in a flash.

...................

With Franken creating chaos to distract the enemy's attention for Su Ming, he managed to return to Atlan relatively smoothly.

By now, the sun had already risen, a red sun slowly emerging over the sea, yet many of Atlan's ground structures were still smoking.

Similar to Su Ming's arrangement, after the escape faction was wiped out, the other four factions and the surrender faction launched a full-scale battle, or to be precise, a hunt.

Together, they far outnumbered and outpowered the surrender faction.

Even though those Kree spies provided advanced weapons and equipment, the human wave tactics were always useful. Apart from the ones Deathstroke wanted, all the Kree people and the surrender faction Inhumans were dead.

Although the city was battered and broken, the ordeal had passed, and it could always be rebuilt.

Returning to the control room, Su Ming saw many Elders waiting for him, while Hel was still in her original position, with her long legs propped on a transparent coffin.

The coffin was connected to many devices and circuits, droplets of dew hanging on the outer wall, indicating extreme cold inside.

It must be the person Su Ming wanted.

Su Ming nodded to her and strode to the conference table, sitting down as if comforted by a long sigh.

"Mm... I've dealt with the Kree Fleet, Earth and Atlan are safe now."

"Really?" The Green Hide frog immediately showed joy, after all, peace is still paramount.

Su Ming chuckled sinisterly and tapped the table: "What, does Comrade Duxiu doubt me?"

"No, no, absolutely not." The frog instantly went pale, even though it didn't understand the oddly pronounced word, hearing "Duxiu," made it tremble all over.

"I regret your former Speaker's death immensely; he fell under the Kree's ship cannon, a glorious sacrifice." Su Ming took a crystal from his backpack, the only one he intended for Atlan: "But we must look forward; we can elect another Speaker, who was it that caught this fellow for me?"

Elder Jupi stood up with a full-face smile, his corpulent body even squeezing the chair away.

"It was my colleagues. Not only did they capture him using the most advanced technology, but they also trapped him in a frozen hibernation pod, Immortal can retrieve him anytime, but please don't let this traitor live."

Su Ming nodded with satisfaction, this orange-skinned elder was indeed excellent, not only did his subordinates suffer minimal losses but he also reaped considerable merit, and he admired humans with proper stance.

He directly tossed the crystal in his hand to him, Deathstroke slowly stood up: "Deal's done, we're leaving."

"Please, wait, could you give us a few more crystals? At least..." Westmark stood up, looking at him beseechingly; hard grabbing was out of the question now, the only option was begging for mercy.

But his words were interrupted.

"You want each tribe to have a crystal, to show equality and friendship? But I think Atlan having only one crystal is best, sufficient for use and without danger."

"Danger? We've stored crystals for a million years, never been dangerous."

Deathstroke, heading towards Hel, turned his head: "If you have too many crystals, I am your danger. Keep that crystal and live well, if you accidentally lose it, come to Kama Taiji to find me."

Upon saying this, he hefted the coffin in the corner and flew out of the room with Hel.

And in the conference room, except for Elder Jupi smiling while holding the crystal, the others were all silently pondering.
