Chapter 741 - Chapter 700: The Visit

Although the visitor legion was not completely annihilated, the losses were still significant, and the Supreme Wisdom had evidently understood the entire course of events.

The visitor endured the physical pain, feeling as though the telekinesis punishment from the Supreme Wisdom shredded every nerve in his body. He knew that compared to such great wisdom, his previous actions were full of flaws.

And now the pursuer was coming to replace him. Upon returning to Hala, he was certainly done for. Although not a death sentence, his future days would likely be spent in some dark, hopeless lower research facility for the rest of his life.

Researching stones or mud every day, never seeing hope.

Tears, they could flow…

Yet he held on, not wailing loudly on the bridge. He strugglingly crawled up, pursed his lips, forced a hideously bitter smile, patted the shoulder of the captain, and then turned away.

The captain stood up and saluted the departing figure, relieved that his own future was preserved. The battleship was damaged, but he had not commanded poorly.

Strict military regulations also had their benefits, such as when superiors wanted subordinates to take responsibility, the records in the intelligent brain would not allow it; whoever was wrong was plainly evident to the Supreme Wisdom.

Poor man, the people on the bridge shook their heads. The visitor was a decent leader, at least not as brutal as the pursuer.

But at this moment, they clearly hadn't realized that the records of them laughing during the previous battle had also been seen by the Supreme Wisdom…

............

The Skrull Fleet lingered for a while at the edge of the Solar System, cleaning up the battlefield, reclaiming anything valuable before preparing to leave.

The enemy fleet's commanding style had changed drastically, with many ships self-destructing to cover their retreat decisively. They knew the Supreme Wisdom had intervened, and thus, the position where the enemy could jump was now beyond pursuit.

Better to take this good fortune; they may have fought a weaker opponent, but suffered no losses, while the enemy lost hundreds of battleships. It was pure profit.

If they didn't leave now, would they wait for Ronan to arrive?

Before leaving, the Skrull Fleet commander didn't forget the heroes. He sent rewards to the outpost deep beneath Eris.

Warriors on the intelligence front remained at their posts, timely identifying the visitor legion, resulting in the current victory.

Their merits were significant, and upon returning, the commander would recommend them to the Queen for rewards. Soon, everyone could return to the home planet to enjoy hero-like treatment.

The outpost commander smiled so much that his green face wrinkled together, expressing that they had been standing guard beneath the rocky and methane ice planet for decades, representing the Empire.

Not seeking heroic treatment, their achievements belonged to the fleet. They just hoped the fleet commander would speak well at the military department and adjust them to a less grueling position.

It was just too hard here; they relied on instruments for secret space observation, ate tasteless food, and even lacked replacement parts when the toilet broke.

Moreover, life was extremely insecure. If the outpost was discovered, their dozens of people wouldn't even satisfy the Kree people's appetite.

Now the Kree fleet suffered losses here, and the Supreme Wisdom would surely associate nearby Skrull observation points, meaning Kree retaliation would soon arrive.

The outpost people unanimously decided to abandon empty fame and make a deal with the fleet to switch to a rear position.

Guarding a warehouse was better than suffering with Eris, the rocky ball, where it would be less painful to immediately leap out from the underground structure and become human popsicles.

Fleet commander pondered, giving all the merits to the fleet was feasible, especially since some rebellious types weren't obeying orders, perfect for using others to rectify dissent.

This didn't even require going through the military department; fleet commanders had such authority, so the outpost people were picked up onto the battleships, and another group of 'aspiring individuals' was arranged to take over.

The fleet adjusted its formation, jumping and disappearing instantly into the Star Sea, leaving behind a twisted light band.

.............

The visitor swayed in the warship corridor like The Walking Dead, as though he had lost his soul, his gaze dull and numb. Supreme Wisdom's scolding words echoed in his mind; he was almost unable to think of anything else.

Seemingly by instinct, he swayed unconsciously back to his laboratory, like the homing instinct of a creature, instinctively coming to a place that brought peace.

Looking at the familiar experimental equipment, and the experimental animals jumping around in cages, he gradually recovered some rationality.

He had never forgotten the Inhumans experiments, those precious knowledge and wealth passed down through countless generations by the legion.

Therefore, when the Supreme Wisdom wanted to reclaim Atlan, he excitedly accepted the task and took over some spies lurking in Atlan.

He was well-acquainted with Atlan's situation and intelligence, certain no problems would arise.

But he never expected that humans he always looked down on would become the biggest disruptors.

Now, defeated and downcast, no one returned to flatter him anymore. If people on the bridge somewhat respected him, others now avoided him like the plague.

Recalling the people he encountered in the corridor, they either turned their heads away, not looking at him, or lowered their heads snickering.

Scenes like that made his heart feel as if it was being cut by a knife.

All blamed humans for ruining things; he must take revenge… not on that Ghost Shadow-like existence, but on all mankind.

Before the pursuer arrives, he still had some time; his highest command power was revoked, but as the chief scientist, his research privileges remained.

He could still use all laboratory tools, extract any exterminating weapon, conduct whatever experiment he wanted.

Thinking about it, his expression gradually distorted, his eyes bulging out.

He struggled to stand up, came to the wall to open the wardrobe, took out the protective suit inside, put it on, and carefully walked into the laboratory's isolation compartment.

As a biologist and geneticist, he had his dignity; his strength was not on giant ships and cannons but in the micro domain invisible to ordinary people.

Under green lights, he removed a small tube of liquid from a sealed container, not much, only a few drops, but the liquid emitted an eerie glow.

He carefully loaded the liquid into an injection gun, then returned to the laboratory.

"Huhu…"

The visitor panted heavily, his heart racing, eyes landing on a cage.

Calling it a cage was better described as a miniature prison, equipped with lasers and energy barriers, with weapons aimed at the creature inside anytime.

The creature inside wasn't big, and it looked furry, currently curled up into a ball, its belly moving up and down as if sleeping.

The visitor verified his authority, breached the outer defenses, cautiously approached the sleeping monster with the injection gun.

"Click."

Just as he was about to inject the cosmos virus into the creature, the laboratory door suddenly opened, and a very fat, white-skinned Kree walked in.

The injector almost dropped to the ground; these items were extremely dangerous. Now that his actions were discovered, the visitor was startled.

"Who are you? How did you get in?!" he asked fiercely, his blue skin superior to this human-looking guy.

The newcomer merely showed a stiff grin, like a mummy from the cosmos.

He turned to close the laboratory door, clasping the door and wall together with a snap, metal fully fused, then casually switched off the lights.

In the darkness, the fat figure squirmed, rapidly changing shape and appearance like melting. In the blink of an eye, a dazzling red light suddenly lit up.

"I've come for you..."
