Chapter 428 - Chapter 396: Never a Slave

Diana had a bizarre dream.

She dreamt that she was flying in the sky with Deathstroke, racing to hunt dragons in the snowy Northern Europe, dueling on the beach of Paradise Island, and taking her to Olympus, where they beat up all the gods she hated.

Even Hera trembled and admitted he was the strongest warrior, a perfect choice for the War God with his combat skills and fierce fearlessness.

Diana happily bestowed the War God's title upon him, and then they went together to the seaside cliff to watch the sunset.

In the warm afterglow, they enjoyed the sea breeze, and the atmosphere became warm and ambiguous.

He held his helmet with a stern warrior expression, but there was only her in that eye.

Their faces were getting closer, almost as if they could feel each other's breath...

Yet in the next second, Diana saw that accursed weapon, which turned into a giant frying pan and knocked her down.

She fainted on the ground, as Deathstroke strode away, and other members of the Justice League, even her enemies, came to see her like she was an artifact in a museum.

Conscious, yet unable to move or speak, she could only watch herself being humiliated.

They pointed and mocked, saying sarcastic words, making her unbearable.

She suddenly struggled, and then she woke up.

Awakened from her dream, she found herself in a spacious black bedroom.

Tall walls with sharp angles were like a collage of various prisms, cold black stone reflecting gloomy light, and the smell of sulfur permeated the room and corridor.

"Ah!!!"

In fury, Diana pounded the bed beneath her, the impact sent the four legs of the bed spinning, and the metal frame crashed down, making her fall on her backside.

"Hiss..."

She climbed up from the ground, rubbed her sore tailbone, and quickly unravelled the sheets and covers wrapped around her, filled with annoyance.

Smelling with her nose, she knew this place was Hell, and it was a Demon King's palace. She remembered it all; she was fooled by Deathstroke at Circe's place!

Though she knew her decision at the time was risky, she was a warrior with long-standing resolve to die in battle.

Deathstroke ambushed and knocked her out, sending her to a safe rear, what's the meaning of this?

She wanted to fight alongside Deathstroke, to protect each other in battle, even dying on the battlefield would be Amazonian romance.

But Deathstroke chose 'Batman-style' protection, completely excluding her.

She wasn't allowed to see the battlefield, but was tossed to the rear like a little girl, as if she was a burden.

There are many reasons for her anger, indescribable; now she just wants to find Deathstroke, knock him out too, let him have some betrayal nightmares!

Her armor was on, weapons and shield were by the bedside, she had to find a way to escape Hell.

Fortunately, she has a good memory, remembering Deathstroke mentioned the end of Hell Main Street had two large doors, leading to Dream Country.

As a Demigod, she could see both doors, and through the Dream Realm she could always return to the real world.

Dream and reality, like two sides of the same coin, only no one knows how to describe this whole world.

Act without delay, Amazonians never hesitate.

She equipped her weapons and strode towards the door.

But outside the door, an armed Demon Guard was arrayed solemnly.

Albella and Mai Zi briefly talked about the risk of Engravers being controlled, not saying much due to urgency.

Perhaps to be safe, Maggie Ken had those sent here closely monitored, ready to suppress any sign of outburst.

Diana's furniture destruction immediately alerted the demons.

The guards didn't know much, but Queen of Hell's order was to subdue anyone waking and resisting immediately, so seeing Diana charged out murderously, their first reaction was to swarm forward.

However, Diana still retained some rationality, knowing Deathstroke tossed her here believing it's safe, meaning these demons weren't current enemies.

She wasn't unfamiliar with demons, she could peacefully converse with the dead in the Netherworld, even brought a Minotaur as a chef to the Hall of Justice, holding no prejudice based on race.

Yet these demons' eyes were crimson red, clearly unwilling to give her a chance to communicate.

Thus, she had to fight her way through.

She didn't use her Treasure Sword, opting instead for her Shield and fists.

Mackenzie's army could be considered Hell's elite, but compared to Diana's prowess, still far inferior.

How could ordinary demons withstand Olympus's War God?

The only problem was, this enormous Obsidian castle didn't have a single window, Diana was completely lost.

But caught up in the heat of battle, this problem was temporarily set aside, whichever direction had the strongest resistance should be the way out, right?

In the dark corridor, Hellfire in sconces served as the only light, the pale fists of the beautiful young lady collided fiercely with scales and muscle of various colors.

Her charge was unstoppable, no demon could match her.

Then she fought her way to Maggie Ken's throne...

When Diana regained her senses, she saw a slim woman wearing half a mask, dressed in a black gown, sitting high on the throne, coldly watching her.

"Diana Prince, Amazon Queen, do you wish to wield your authority in Hell?"

The woman's hands were pinned to the throne by two large black iron nails, red blood flowed down the armrests, spreading over the ground, even trickling down the Imperial Steps to Diana's feet.

"Maggie Ken, I mean no offense, and deeply apologize for what happened, but I must leave here, I need to find my teammates who are in danger now."

Diana recognized her, the woman with half a face was Maggie Ken, Queen of Hell.

"You'll go nowhere, your teammates, ha, already handed you over to me, by agreement, you are now Hell's slave and servant." Maggie Ken extended a slender finger, pointing at a shivering Little Demon in a corner of the Throne Room: "Just like them."

Diana felt a pang of repulsion, she drew the Fire God Sword directly.

Albella hadn't betrayed her, this was just Maggie Ken's words.

She was Queen of Hell, how could she sit calmly after being attacked to the Throne Room?

Even with Justice League and Albella placed there, she wanted Diana to understand who's in charge now, staying obediently in Hell.

Yet Amazonians had dark history, a history of male slavery; even after overthrowing male rule on Paradise Island, they kept symbolic bracelets on everyone.

Bracelets symbolized shackles once on their hands, a reminder not to forget humiliation, not to forget the misery as slaves.

And the word slave, Diana detested the most.

"Amazons never bow to slavery!"

She leapt high, raised her weapon, charging towards Maggie Ken.
