Vivian's POV
The answer came without a moment's hesitation. This man before me remained a mystery in many ways, yet something deep in my soul placed complete faith in him. More faith than I had ever granted my father, more than I had given Ryan.
"Yes," I breathed without wavering. "I trust you completely, Liam. It's just that I'm terrified your opinion of me will shift when you learn about my past."
His eyebrows drew together in concern. "When I learn what? Tell me everything, Doe."
That endearment sent warmth flooding through my chest. I had committed acts that haunted me, choices that stained my conscience. Not exactly terrible deeds, but something awful enough to make me question my worth.
Something that proved I didn't deserve the tenderness he showed me. Liam certainly wasn't perfect, I understood that much.
But compared to me, he was practically a saint.
I couldn't bring myself to confess that particular sin. But there were other truths I could share.
