~Ring
His alarm clock rang.
"Tchh, already?"
He turned off the alarm; it was 04:00 a.m.
He abruptly got up and accidentally knocked his water bottle down.
"Yeah, right. My unlucky fate, I SO wanna go back to sleep."
He lay back down, but couldn't sleep, because He was feeling guilty for not getting up.
"I promised myself I wasn't going to make any excuses. I have to get up."
He unwantedly got out of bed and walked towards the bathroom.
He got freshened up and stood in front of the bathroom mirror, and stared at his weak physique.
"Hmm, I look so skinny, but good thing I have an advantage in abs." He said, smiling a little.
He got out of his room and sneakily opened the main door, trying not to wake anybody up.
He was out for a run.
He liked the spot near the hills; he always went there to relax on tough days.
Si-Hun warmed up and went for a run near the hills.
He ran 3 miles before collapsing on a bench, breathless.
"Man, it's so exhausting!"
He rested for a few minutes before getting on the track again. His goal was 5 miles, and he somehow completed that.
Next, he went to the main park. Behind the park were the hills.
Si-Hun then started his workout.
But soon enough he realized that he couldn't even go past 7 push ups.
"This sucks."
He managed the 8th rep and then went for the pull-up bar.
His grip was pretty weak, but he somehow did 3 shaky reps.
This was his strength, pretty weak right now.
He finished his workout, and then it was time for his predator abilities practice.
He was loading himself all at once, but his determination was greater than his concern.
He wanted to practice kickboxing; he didn't have a coach, but he had his mobile, and he was willing to learn it online.
He practiced his kicking and punching skills, and to his surprise, he was not as bad as he thought he was.
"Whoa!I can land a pretty clean punch, and my kicking skills aren't so bad either."
He already had some experience in boxing due to his practice in high school in the boxing club.
But it had been so long, and he needed to catch on.
He proceeded to practice, and while shadow boxing near the pull-up bar, he accidentally punched the metal pull-up bar.
The hard metal fractured his bottom knuckles, and he winced in pain, seeing his knuckles badly bruised and blood dripping off them.
"Gosh, what do I do now?! I can't go to the doctor right now at this hour, and my father won't take me to the hospital later too,..I guess I can treat this at home."
He went back to his house and cleaned his wound, and wrapped a bandage around his knuckles.
Days went like this, and he still practiced like this, even with his fractured knuckle, which was almost healed now.
He didn't really see any change, and he was losing motivation, but he held on to discipline.
Today, he had taken part in a low-ranking raid for some money.
He was at the portal site, leaning against a wall.
He was waiting for the portal examiners to examine the portal.
He was standing alone at a distance from the other predators when he was startled when someone suddenly spoke.
"Hey! Si-Hun sup?"
"Whoa! You scared me, Jae-Un."
Jae-Un was his colleague, and he was the only one nice to Si-Hun, except for some other elders.
"Oh, sorry about that." He said, chuckling.
"Ready to kill the ferals?"
"Oh, he wouldn't kill any but the feral can kill him."
A voice from behind spoke, mocking Si-Hun while laughing.
"Shut up, Yu-Jun, you buzz too much like an annoying bee."
Yu-Jun was an egoistic guy filled with pride. He never missed the chance to mock and bully Si-Hun for being the weakest of all predators.
Si-Hun let out a low chuckle under his breath.
"You b*tch, how dare you laugh, you know I'm a higher rank than you! Shut up if you don't want to get your ass beaten up!"
"Let's go from here, Si-Hun, and not waste our energy on this bunch of dogs here."
"Yeah,f*ck off," Yu-Jun spoke loud enough for the two to hear.
"Thanks for defending me, man, "Si-Hun said, thanking Jae-Un.
"No thank you's, man, you're good, but you should not really let them put you down like this, though."
"But they're so much stronger than me, I don't stand a chance against them."
"You know you're not bad at close combat skills, I've seen you in a close-range fight with a feral, and you were better at that than using your magic."
"Mmm."
"Maybe he is right, I'm already tired of this Yu-Jun shit." Si-Hun thought to himself.
"Hey, you young folks! We ain't got more time, everyone's already entered the portal."
"Coming ajhussi."
They both ran towards the portal and entered.
Everyone was already ahead of them. They were walking when they came across two pathways.
"Which one should we go to?" Jae-Un spoke.
"How would I know? I came with you."
Just then, they saw Yu-Jun coming their way from the left pathway.
"The leader said to divide into two groups and asked me to inform you two where to go. Si-Hun, you go to the right, and Jae-Un, you go to the left."
"How can we trust you?" Jae-Un spoke calmly.
"You're not trusting me but following the leader's command."
Jae-Un passed Si-Hun a glance, looking for his approval.
Seeing Si-Hun nod, he agreed and parted ways.
Si-Hun was walking, and it had been 10 minutes since he had been following the path, but he couldn't find their group.
At that time, he knew that it was a trap that Si-Hun fell for.
Just then
He saw an Elf Goblin charging his way.
