This is exactly the tactic used in the original Kouhu Kingdom animation where Yugi defeated Butterfly.
Butterfly claimed his giant moth's effect would release scale powder to continuously reduce the opponent monster's attack power, so Yugi used "Magic Mist Rain" stating that the rain could wash away the scale powder. Additionally, Magic Mist Rain could enhance conductivity, so one Celestial Thunder from Demon's Summon turned Butterfly into ZZ...
Though it was suspected to be talking nonsense back then, Magic Mist Rain was later turned into a physical card to pay tribute to that famous scene. Its effect was modified to be a specialized card for Thunder Race and Demon's Summon, allowing all monsters on the opponent's field with defense power below Demon's Summon's attack power to be destroyed. But this is the modified effect of the physical card; however well it pays tribute, it does not restore the original animation scene.
Therefore, some have speculated and restored the animation effect of Magic Mist Rain based on the animation performance.
In Duel Kingdom when Yugi first dueled against Butterfly, it nullified the effect of Poison Scale Powder and increased the attack power of Demon's Summon by 1000 points. During the second duel with Joey, Magic Mist Rain nullified Joey's Thousand-Year Dragon's attack.
And then it was used once more in the duel against Thief Keith, giving Demon's Summon an increase in attack power, but this time it only increased by 700 points.
Based on this, versatile card enthusiasts deduced the original card effects of this card. When Magic Mist Rain is activated, the effect processing on the field nullifies the effects of already existing cards and prevents monsters from declaring attacks.
Additionally, when present in the graveyard, it can increase the attack power of your side's "Demon's Summon" by the number of cards in the graveyard other than this card multiplied by 100 points.
Just now there were 15 cards in Joey's graveyard, which is why Demon's Summon's attack power rose to 4000.
