Chapter 785 - Chapter 758: Rain Enhancing Conductivity Isn't Common Sense

"Hahaha! You're finished, human!"

The Chaos Wizard tilted his head back and laughed heartily.

"The ultimate insect has been completed! Appear now—

—Complete Ultimate Form Giant Moth!!!"

The storm of summoning whipped up, and pollen seemed to diffuse in the air. The green giant insect spread its moth wings and let out a terrifying hiss with its menacing mandibles.

[Complete Ultimate Form Giant Moth, Attack Power 3500]

Joey: "..."

"What's wrong? So shocked you can't speak?" The Chaos Wizard laughed with arms akimbo, "This is my trump card, a powerful monster of the upper ranks in the Dueling Realm, the Complete Ultimate Form Giant Moth!

To be vanquished by such a mighty monster is your honor, remember it well, human! Hahaha—"

Joey indeed couldn't find words.

But it wasn't because he was shocked, rather it was like an old memory suddenly attacked me. What a nostalgic monster...

This was the ace monster that Insect Moth prided himself on back during the Duel Kingdom era. Back then Duel Monsters were just reawakening to the modern era; we didn't even have complete rules, and the card pool was far less rich than it is now.

So at that time, Butterfly's Ultimate Giant Moth was quite rare. The Giant Moth had a terrifying attack power of 3500, even higher than the so-called strongest Blue-Eyes White Dragon of that time, and was practically terrifying. The moth was the strongest monster in the main card deck outside of Fusion Monsters.

Of course, it has been outdated now.

Joey even remembers the tactics used by both sides during the game against Butterfly.

Just like this...

"I use Iron Knight - Jia Fried as a tribute for an upper-level summon," Joey said, "Appear now, Demon's Summon!"

[Demon's Summon, Attack Power 2500]

"An attack position?" the Chaos Wizard laughed, "That attack power can't even touch the edge of the Ultimate Giant Moth..."

"Is that so?" Joey said, "Activate the Magic Card 'Magic Mist Rain'!"

Then it started to rain from the sky, pouring over the whole field.

The Chaos Wizard frowned: "What's the point of this?"

"Haven't noticed yet?" Joey laughed, "Demon's Summon specializes in thunder attacks, and take a look at what your giant moth has become under the Magic Mist Rain."

"Become what?"

The Chaos Wizard looked at his giant moth, still utterly perplexed.

"Haven't you realized? After getting wet in the rain, your giant moth has now become... a soaked giant moth!" Joey said, "When wet, the conductivity of Demon's Summon's attack greatly increases!"

Chaos Wizard: "???"

Is there such a saying?

"Go, Demon's Summon, attack the giant moth!"

[Demon's Summon, Attack Power 2500→Attack Power 4000]

The attack power of Demon's Summon instantly skyrocketed to 4000 points, and sure enough, a strike of lightning turned the giant moth to dust. The Chaos Wizard was blown away, his mouth opening into an O shape.

In which dimension's village rules does this exist? Rain enhancing conductivity... can cards even be played like this?

This is exactly the tactic used in the original Kouhu Kingdom animation where Yugi defeated Butterfly.

Butterfly claimed his giant moth's effect would release scale powder to continuously reduce the opponent monster's attack power, so Yugi used "Magic Mist Rain" stating that the rain could wash away the scale powder. Additionally, Magic Mist Rain could enhance conductivity, so one Celestial Thunder from Demon's Summon turned Butterfly into ZZ...

Though it was suspected to be talking nonsense back then, Magic Mist Rain was later turned into a physical card to pay tribute to that famous scene. Its effect was modified to be a specialized card for Thunder Race and Demon's Summon, allowing all monsters on the opponent's field with defense power below Demon's Summon's attack power to be destroyed. But this is the modified effect of the physical card; however well it pays tribute, it does not restore the original animation scene.

Therefore, some have speculated and restored the animation effect of Magic Mist Rain based on the animation performance.

In Duel Kingdom when Yugi first dueled against Butterfly, it nullified the effect of Poison Scale Powder and increased the attack power of Demon's Summon by 1000 points. During the second duel with Joey, Magic Mist Rain nullified Joey's Thousand-Year Dragon's attack.

And then it was used once more in the duel against Thief Keith, giving Demon's Summon an increase in attack power, but this time it only increased by 700 points.

Based on this, versatile card enthusiasts deduced the original card effects of this card. When Magic Mist Rain is activated, the effect processing on the field nullifies the effects of already existing cards and prevents monsters from declaring attacks.

Additionally, when present in the graveyard, it can increase the attack power of your side's "Demon's Summon" by the number of cards in the graveyard other than this card multiplied by 100 points.

Just now there were 15 cards in Joey's graveyard, which is why Demon's Summon's attack power rose to 4000.

Well of course, he didn't explain this effect in detail to his opponent. So the Chaos Wizard died without closing his eyes, glaring at Joey intensely, wondering from which dimension does such a wild dueling path come, with things like rain enhancing conductivity to boot...

...

...

At the same time, deeper within Overlord City.

"Duel!" x2

[Yugen, LP 4000]

[Guardian Bao, LP 4000]

"I'll go first, draw a card."

Guardian Bao snorted.

"I don't know where your confidence comes from, but even if you truly reach Lord Overlord, you're nothing but fodder delivered to the door.

I summon 'Demon Slime Mold'!" (Original Card)

A mass, like purple rotten mud, appeared on his field, quickly gathering and slowly wriggling, its body rising to form a slime-like figure, and that disgusting appearance seemed to emit the stench of mildew.

[Demon Slime Mold, Attack Power 500]

An original monster used by Guardian Bao in the animation, not turned into a physical card.

"Then I set a card face-down and end my turn!" Bao said confidently, "Let me show you, not to mention Lord Overlord, you outsiders hold a huge gap against even just us Five People.

That kid who just went in to find Lord Overlord might have already been ravaged to death by now? Hehe..."

Yugen ignored him: "My turn, draw a card."

The card he drew was added to his hand, and then he leisurely drew another monster from his hand to summon.

"Summon 'Giant Rat'."

Also a hideous monster, a giant-sized rat full of ferocity appeared on his field, clutching what appeared to be a leftover skull.

[Giant Rat, Attack Power 1400]

"Giant Rat attacks 'Demon Slime Mold'."

Guardian Bao laughed heartily.

"A predictable attack, but such an attack is useless!

Activate cover card, Continuous Trap 'Level Surround Net - Gravity Doubling'!

This card can double the gravity on the field, rendering weak monsters immobile under such gravity! As long as this card is on the field, all monsters of Level Four or lower from both sides cannot attack!" (Original Card)
