Gravity Lock!
A dark, gigantic energy sphere appeared in the air above the field, constantly crackling with dazzling electricity. A powerful and unmatched gravity wave enveloped the entire field. The Giant Rat, charging forward, was immediately pinned to the ground, letting out a sharp cry but unable to move.
"A gravity bind for monsters below Four-Star?" Yugen showed an expression of interest, "Interesting."
This Original Card naturally reminds one of the card, Super Gravity Net, which was once famous for its representation of being introverted.
Super Gravity Net prevents monsters above Four-Star from attacking, and this card restricts those below Four-Star. As is common knowledge, in language K, both above and below Four-Star include Four-Star, so theoretically, if both cards are on the field, it means monsters of any star level cannot attack.
"Are you starting to feel fear now?" Guardian Bao sneered, "This is merely the tip of the iceberg of my power."
"Is that so? That really makes me look forward to it."
Yugen smiled.
It was the truth. He was eager to see if these Overlord members would pull out a few more Original Cards he hadn't seen before, perhaps leading to the emergence of new tricks.
"Set one card face-down, turn ends."
"My turn, draw!" Guardian Bao said, "During my standby phase, as long as 'Demon Slime Mold' is in attack position on the field, I can pay 500 Life Points to Special Summon another 'Demon Slime Mold' from the Deck!"
[Guardian Bao, LP4000 → LP3500]
"I pay 500 Life Points to let the Demon Slime Mold replicate!"
The gooey, purple slime on his field split, dividing into two identical figures, as if cast from the same mold.
[Demon Slime Mold, Attack Power 500]
"This effect does not have a once-per-turn limit, as long as there are remaining Life Points, and more Slime Molds in the Deck, it can be activated continuously during the standby phase."
Guardian Bao shouted.
"Once more, pay 500 Life Points to Special Summon 'Demon Slime Mold'!"
[Guardian Bao, LP3500 → LP3000]
"Then the cost for activating the Continuous Trap 'Level Surround Net - Gravity Doubling.' During the standby phase, a monster on your own field must be sacrificed.
If you don't, this card must be destroyed."
He pointed to the three slimes on his field.
"Sacrifice one 'Demon Slime Mold' to maintain the continuation of the Level Surround Net!"
One of the newly summoned slimes collapsed into a pool of sludge, disintegrating and releasing its energy into the Continuous Trap.
Yugen let out an "Oh," slightly frowning.
Each turn requires a monster sacrifice to maintain it...
Given this cost, if it only binds the attacks of monsters below Four-Star, it's a bit underwhelming.
Yugen glanced at his opponent, dissatisfied.
Could it be a little more impressive?
"Then sacrifice another 'Demon Slime Mold' for an Upper-level Summon!" Guardian Bao declared, "Appear now—
—Level 6, Two-headed Beast!"
The half-human, half-beast body, engulfed in hellish flames, had a head similar to that of a lion, enveloped in raging flames.
[Two-headed Beast, Attack Power 1700]
Yugen continued to frown.
This was also the monster Bao used in the animation, though real-life cards exist, it's nothing special.
"Magic Card 'Double Summon,' this turn I can conduct a second Upper-level Summon," Guardian Bao said, "So I'll sacrifice the last 'Demon Slime Mold' for an Upper-level Summon!
Level 6, Demon Giant God!!!"
An expanse of darkness descended like a curtain, the demon's scarlet rage-filled eyes glared, clad in pitch-black armor, standing on the field like an ominous mountain.
[Demon Giant God, Attack Power 2400]
"Feel the power of the Five People cadre!
Demon Giant God, attack 'Giant Rat'!"
The giant demon extended its hand, the immense size making its movements seem somewhat sluggish. Yet, the shadow of the palm felt like Mount Tai pressing down, covering the rat from all sides. Under the demon's oppressive might, it shivered, the thought of dodging seemingly extinguished.
[Yugen, LP4000 → LP3000]
"Then the effect of Giant Rat activates," Yugen said, "when Giant Rat is destroyed in battle and sent to the graveyard, Special Summon an Earth Attribute monster with Attack Power 1500 or less from the Deck in attack position."
Yugen paused, showcasing the Monster Card that automatically ejected from the Deck.
"Giant Rat itself is an Earth Attribute monster with Attack Power of 1500 or less.
Therefore, Special Summon the second Giant Rat from the Deck."
[Giant Rat, Attack Power 1400]
"My attack isn't over yet!" Guardian Bao said, "Two-headed Beast, attack the Giant Rat!"
The two-headed lion roared, the left-hand side's lion paw struck through the air, launching a fireball that ignited upon the rat, incinerating it into ashes.
[Yugen, LP3000 → LP2700]
"Then the effect of the second Giant Rat," Yugen said, "Special Summon the third 'Giant Rat' from the Deck."
[Giant Rat, Attack Power 1400]
The remains of the previous two brothers hadn't even scattered when the third rat appeared, immediately hunkering down with its tail up, seemingly begging to be dealt with quickly.
"The effect of the Two-headed Beast, this monster can attack twice in each Battle Phase," Guardian Bao declared, "Now your Deck doesn't have any more Giant Rats.
Two-headed Beast, continue attacking! Crush the Giant Rat!"
The right-hand side of the two-headed lion also struck through the air, the flames it hurled quickly reduced the third rat into a burning fireball, soon turning to ashes.
[Yugen, LP2700 → LP2400]
"But the effect of the last Giant Rat also activates, Special Summon an Earth Attribute from the Deck with Attack Power 1500 or less."
Yugen drew out a card from the Deck that had been retrieved.
"Special Summon 'Aztec Stone Statue.'
A massive green boulder landed heavily on Yugen's field with a dull thud. The statue bore a pouting face, its hands gesturing a forbidden sign.
[Aztec Stone Statue, Attack Power 300]
"These increasingly ridiculous things," Guardian Bao scoffed, "Well, as long as the Continuous Trap 'Level Surround Net - Gravity Doubling' remains on the field, monsters below Four-Star cannot attack.
I don't know what your dimension is like, but here, only the strong survive, the weak must live as the weak!"
He drew another card from his hand, waving it grandly.
"Set a card face-down, turn ends!"
