Chapter 602 - Chapter 579: Hebikawa

The burning prison, the noisy shouts. Passing through the gate, Yugen seemed to smell the strong scent of gunpowder, mixed with a certain bloody aura.

A burly man shouted and charged in aggressively from outside the door, wielding a Physics Holy Sword, seemingly unable to see who had come from outside, and swung a crowbar down directly.

Yugen did not dodge. Zarug, who was hiding in his portable card case, swiftly flew out, almost appearing to separate from Yugen, and kicked directly at the face of the burly man.

The man clearly did not anticipate someone could fly out from his body, was taken by surprise, and was unable to dodge. Zarug's boot connected firmly with his face, causing him to fall backward with a nosebleed, fainting aside as darkness overcame him.

Yugen continued to venture deeper, quickly realizing this was just the beginning.

At this moment, the entire prison could be described as a chaotic riot without exaggeration. Someone had sabotaged the prison facilities; countless cell doors were opened. The prisoners, who had been stifled, cheered and rushed out of their cages, breaking through the prison areas and swarming towards the outside.

The man at the entrance seemed to be of a lower level. Walking into the back courtyard, flames roared more fiercely, and a person bathed in fire, wielding a weapon red-hot from the flames, charged through the courtyard.

Yugen recognized it. It was a 4-star Duel Monster, the Burning Soldier, rumored to be a special forces soldier.

Duel Monster Spirit.

Yugen frowned slightly.

The spirit also seemed to sense Yugen's presence. Perhaps realizing the arrival of someone unusual, the Burning Soldier immediately changed targets, dragging a fiery serpent as it charged at Yugen.

Zarug cursed and prepared to step forward but was stopped by Yugen with a wave.

If he remembered correctly, the Burning Soldier's attack power was 1700, and Zarug was not its match.

The Silent Magician, without needing orders, consciously stepped forward to meet it. The Burning Soldier swung its blade, but midway, the blade struck the White Light Array, clinking and breaking into three pieces.

The soldier paused, quickly adapted, and flicked the broken sword like a hidden weapon. The Silent Magician's magic staff lightly waved, and the Transparent Array guided the broken sword in a huge arc, turning it back 180 degrees to its original path.

The Burning Soldier was caught by surprise and couldn't dodge, the red-hot blade piercing through its chest, exploding with a puff into fragments.

"There's indeed a spirit."

Yugen frowned.

It was true that the inmates here were all Dark Duelists, and some might possess the ability to summon spirits. However, being prisoners here, their primary weapon, the card deck, should have been confiscated. So how could there be spirits here?

Unless...

At this moment, a strange sound came from the darkness beside them, and a long shadow suddenly flashed out, lunging directly at where Yugen stood.

Yugen hadn't even had time to react before Zarug had already drawn his gun. The revolver's muzzle spurted fire, and the black shadow, hit, shrieked and retreated to the side.

"Damn it, trying to ambush under Lord Zarug's nose?" Zarug put his hands on his hips.

Yugen turned to look, it was actually a black snake.

From the shadows, a person slowly walked out.

Different from the other rioting prisoners, this person wasn't wearing prison clothes but a black combat suit instead. His posture was straight, lips tightly sealed, with distinct facial features, and his skin was bronze. His robust body was tightly wrapped in the tactical outfit, clearly indicating he wasn't a prisoner but had come prepared.

He most likely was the instigator related to this prison riot.

"A spirit."

The man glanced at the spirit beside Yugen, squinting his eyes.

"Hasn't the Kaiba Group sent people yet?"

"Is this your chaos?" Yugen looked around, asking, "Who are you?"

"Me? Kage Hebikawa, just a nobody."

The man gently chuckled.

"As for the mess here... no, I didn't do it, but it is related to me. I was just ordered to come here to give Prison No. 7... no, to be more precise, to cause some trouble for the Kaiba Group."

"Oh?" Yugen raised an eyebrow.

Here for the Kaiba Group, are you?

"A duelist capable of commanding a spirit, you must be a precious resource for the Kaiba Group, right? Hahaha, well, that's perfect, let's start with you."

Kage said as he unfolded his Duel Disc. Instantly, the surrounding flames dispersed as if drawn by an invisible force, forming a fiery circle that isolated them like a barrier.

It was obvious now, a Dark Duel.

Yugen tilted his head.

"Honestly, I'm not strictly from the Kaiba Group, just passing by. But if you say precious resource, you're not wrong... Alright."

He also unfolded his Duel Disc, drawing a card deck from one of several card cases behind him and inserting it into the Duel Disc.

"Duel!" x2

[Kage Hebikawa, LP 4000]

[Yugen, LP 4000]

"I'll go first, draw a card!"

Kage added the card to his hand, then quickly drew another card from his hand and slapped it onto his Duel Disc.

"Summon 'Black Mamba' in defense position!"

Appearing on the field was a dark snake, flicking its dangerous tongue, its eyes glinting with malice as it stared at Yugen.

[Black Mamba, Defense Power 1000]

"An Elf Card?"

Yugen recognized it because that was the same snake that had just ambushed him and taken a bullet from Zarug.

"Set one card, turn end."

Kage concluded his first turn.

"Now my turn, draw."

Yugen glanced at the drawn card, and without adding it to his hand, he showed it directly.

"Summon 'Minotaur'."

The blue-eyed undead Minotaur, originally a cartoon monster, now reimagined by Yugen as a versatile undead brute. The pitch-black Minotaur Warrior leaped onto the field wielding a heavy hammer, a string of blue prayer beads hanging from its neck, a golden ring on its bull's nose, its appearance somewhat ferocious.

[Minotaur, Attack Power 1700]

"Minotaur's effect, once per turn during my main phase, send one Undead Race from the deck to the graveyard."

The Duel Disc performed an auto-search, ejecting a card from the deck.

"Send 'Vampire Grace' from the deck to the graveyard."

The phantom of the vampire noble momentarily appeared on Yugen's field, like a ghost.

"Vampire card deck, is it?"

Yugen smiled without answering, directly issuing a command.

"Battle. Minotaur attacks 'Black Mamba'."

The Minotaur swung its heavy hammer, hammering down directly on the snake's head. The black snake certainly couldn't compete, defeated at first contact.

"Activate the Cover Card, Continuous Trap 'Poisonous Snake's Grudge'!"

Kage waved a big hand, activating the trap from the backfield.

"Poisonous Snake's Grudge, when a Reptile Race from my field goes to the graveyard, Special Summon a Snake Monster with 4 stars or less from the deck!"

Yugen understood.

Ah, Snake Card Deck, huh.
