Chapter 87 - Chapter 3: Their Respective Results

"Namiashi Raido." Mokgetsu called the student up for the exam.

Namiashi Raido quickly stepped onto the testing ground and began using an Earth Release Ninjutsu, then swiftly drew a Kunai and showcased some fierce Taijutsu moves. He rapidly threw three Shurikens at a target fifty meters away; although not all hit the bullseye, they all hit the target.

Immediately afterward, Namiashi Raido ran towards a tree, moving as if on flat ground, with stable Chakra adhesion. Even when stepping on water, he could withstand the waves caused by a Water Dragon Bomb without falling in.

Mokgetsu thought for a moment and awarded Namiashi Raido a seven for Ninjutsu, a seven-point-five for hand signs, an eight-point-seven for Taijutsu, a six for Shuriken Throwing, and a seven-point-eight for Chakra control.

Namiashi Raido has a decent foundation, and his Taijutsu is excellent, but other areas are lacking.

Mokgetsu used a higher grading standard for the students in Group A than the standard used during grouping.

"Uchiha Obito." Mokgetsu continued calling the next name.

"It's a pity Rin is in Group B; it would be great if she were in Group A." Obito thought to himself after greeting Mokgetsu as he stepped forward.

After challenging Mokgetsu in a Taijutsu challenge, Obito found these exam projects extremely easy, regretting that Nohara Rin could not witness his dazzling performance.

"Great Fireball Jutsu!" Obito decisively used his most proficient Fire Release Ninjutsu, unleashing a terrifyingly large Great Fireball that reached four meters high.

Since Mokgetsu helped him tweak his Great Fireball last time, Obito has mostly used this more imposing version, even though it consumes more Chakra.

"Damn, do all students at the Ninja Academy have such high levels now?" Namiashi Raido was somewhat amazed to see Obito use such an impressive Fire Release.

It seemed even more powerful than the Great Fireball from last time used by Uchiha Shisui; are the students from the Uchiha Clan all monsters?

"Feels even stronger than Asuma's Fire Release." Yuhi Kurenai nodded and said.

"His Fire Release looks impressive but is useless; it can't hit anyone." Asuma quickly stepped up and said when he heard Kurenai suggesting he wasn't up to par.

"The Great Fireball Jutsu has a relatively slow speed and can't change direction; usually, it's used as a feint." Asuma explained.

Asuma could jab at the Great Fireball with his understanding of Fire Release, but he had nothing to say about Obito's performance afterward. Whether in Taijutsu or other aspects, Obito's performance was outstanding, with no particular weakness.

"Might Guy."

After being called up, Might Guy first used Ninjutsu according to procedure, but he only knew the Three-Body Jutsu.

Finally seeing a student using the Three-Body Jutsu and not using it particularly well, Namiashi Raido and Asuma smiled, but in the next moment, Might Guy's Taijutsu froze their smiles.

"Such fast kicks, seems even faster than you, Raido." Asuma was a bit troubled, thinking they'd finally found an average student, only to find another extreme specialist.

Namiashi Raido didn't say anything; he felt he might not win against Might Guy in a pure Taijutsu duel.

Seeing some students around looking calm, as if accustomed to it, Asuma approached to inquire.

After asking, Asuma learned that Might Guy was the top ranker in the fourth grade, having defeated Obito to take first place.

Instantly, Asuma felt that Might Guy might be even more formidable than his performance suggested.

"Uchiha Shisui."

When Mokgetsu called Shisui's name, the atmosphere immediately grew hushed as students watched Shisui step forward.

Since Shisui had defeated Namiashi Raido on the first day of summer training, students were aware of the formidable Uchiha Shisui.

Asuma didn't want to watch Shisui anymore, knowing without looking that he'd be the strongest, as he was unbeatable to Asuma.

As he expected, Shisui aced every test, easily surpassing everyone's previous performances.

"Sarutobi Asuma."

Asuma heard his own name at a moment when he least wanted to.

Going up for the exam now meant comparisons to Shisui, an unfair matchup.

Nonetheless, Asuma didn't flee; after a few seconds of hesitation, he stepped up.

Accepting he couldn't match up, at least he hadn't bragged and then gotten crushed in public.

As class neared its end, Mokgetsu finished scoring all the students, only needing to finalize the rankings before announcing the results to everyone.

"Will there be rewards?" Mokgetsu pondered while ranking students, considering continuous small tests and major tests to maximize system benefits if rewards were available.

As the class ended, Mokgetsu had just finished organizing everything.

Mokgetsu posted the rankings and scores on a prepared board, directly announcing the end of class.

Instead of leaving the training ground, the students crowded around the bulletin board to check their scores.

"Only a total score of twenty-four..." Anko scratched her head, dissatisfied.

At the Ninja Academy, her scores typically exceeded thirty-five.

As expected, she wasn't on the promotion list below.

Rather than having her omitted, it was more of three hundred students, with only Ebisu advancing from Group B to Group A.

Kotetsu and Izumo stood silently beside Anko after hearing her words, having not even broken twenty points yet.

They were quickly drawn to the promotion list below.

"Ebisu is truly a genius." Hagane Kotetsu admired Ebisu even more upon seeing only him on the promotion list.

"Indeed, being the standout is quite enviable." Kamizuki Izumo nodded and said.

"But once we perfect that this week, we'll be next week's Ebisu." Hagane Kotetsu declared confidently.

He had full confidence in their perfected Deception Jutsu; even with low scores, he intended to sweep competition in practical exams.

Kamizuki Izumo shared the same optimism, both wearing expectant smiles.

"Kotetsu and Izumo are becoming harder to understand." Watching the two cheerful guys, Anko was puzzled.

Asuma squeezed in to glance at Group A's rankings, pleased to find himself third overall, just beneath Shisui and Obito.

"Need to step up training this week." Asuma felt an intense urgency.

Although Might Guy's test scores weren't high, his potential in live combat was immense, considering his recent exam victory over Obito, while his teammate Namiashi Raido was similarly a combat specialist.

Asuma aimed to secure third or second place in the combat evaluation, not yet considering first.
