Chapter 88 - Chapter 4: A Good Way to Improve Learning Efficiency

"Failed, huh."

Twenty minutes after the results were announced, and still no message from the system; Mokgetsu understood the outcome of the preliminary test.

The exam he designed wasn't effective; at least, exams with such short intervals weren't working.

Mokgetsu had to unfortunately abandon the plan of having a small exam every day and a major exam every three days.

If exams couldn't yield rewards, then doing them would be meaningless and just make the students think there was something wrong.

During the evening's training, Shisui suddenly appeared in front of Mokgetsu with excitement and said:

"Teacher Mokgetsu, I think I've initially mastered Soru."

Immediately after, Shisui demonstrated Soru twice in front of Mokgetsu.

After watching, Mokgetsu was almost certain, but still performed an identification on Shisui to confirm. It indeed showed he had started learning Soru.

"Yes, you've completed this technique's cultivation. Next, get more familiar with it, and then you can continue learning other techniques." Mokgetsu nodded after closing the panel.

He planned to teach Shisui some Fire Release Ninjutsu to increase his offensive capabilities.

Shisui learned Ninjutsu very quickly, so Mokgetsu felt at ease allowing him to master more techniques.

As for Obito, Mokgetsu wasn't planning to let him learn new Fire Release Ninjutsu for now; one Mighty Dragon Fire and one Great Fireball were enough for him temporarily. More might just cause Obito problems in battle due to choice overload.

Mokgetsu glanced at Might Guy, who showed an identification, revealing he was still thirty points short of mastering Soru.

"In that case, it'll take about another week to master it." Mokgetsu thought after closing the panel.

Looking between Might Guy and Obito, who was practicing speed enhancement techniques, Mokgetsu had a great idea.

Previously, when Might Guy and Obito trained together, both of their body techniques improved rapidly.

Back then, they both practiced Taijutsu, mainly aiming to land hits on Hyuga Kamon while avoiding being hit by him.

Now, they were essentially working on the same thing, cultivating Soru, though Obito hadn't started learning full Soru yet. Essentially, they were practicing Instant Body Jutsu, aiming to increase speed.

Mokgetsu called Might Guy and Obito together, asking with a smile:

"Do you feel like your current learning efficiency is a bit slow?"

Might Guy shook his head, feeling things were normal.

However, Obito's eyes lit up. Since Mokgetsu asked, there must be a method to improve their learning efficiency, so he quickly answered:

"Yeah, Teacher Mokgetsu, your speed enhancement techniques are too difficult. Is there a quick way to learn them?"

"There is, but it depends on whether you want it or not." Mokgetsu nodded.

"Yes, of course we want it." Obito looked at Mokgetsu with eager eyes.

He really wanted a quick way to master the speed enhancement techniques to complete the challenge and learn Soru sooner.

"If I can quickly master Soru, I want it too." Might Guy couldn't resist the temptation of rapid mastery.

"Great, show me your fastest speed by running a lap first." Mokgetsu smiled warmly.

The two heard Mokgetsu and, though puzzled, demonstrated their maximum speed as instructed.

In his heart, Mokgetsu timed both and got a rough idea of their speeds.

Mokgetsu then said, "Alright, now compete to see who can break their speed limit first."

"For every half second slower than your speed limit, do five more questions; for every half second faster, reduce five questions. The first to reach the finish line can skip thirty questions, with forty starting questions each." Mokgetsu thought and explained the rules.

"Because you two have different speeds, Guy, your course will be slightly longer."

Might Guy was already close to mastering Soru, while Obito hadn't even started learning full Soru. If the distance were the same, Obito would just end up answering more questions.

"Huh?" Obito was stunned, not expecting Mokgetsu's quick learning method to be this kind of nightmare-inducing intense training.

Hearing the rules, he felt like he was back in the battle special training for end-of-term finals, a familiar penalty system, a familiar debt from the start, and soon it would be installment phase.

"Teacher Mokgetsu, I think the efficiency is already quite high," Obito said, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, trying to backtrack.

Might Guy also nodded in agreement, saying, "I think so too."

After getting away from battle drills and tests for less than a month, Might Guy didn't want to return to those days of endless questions.

"Alright then, I thought you'd like a training method that combines theory with practice." Mokgetsu showed a disappointed look, seemingly a bit hurt.

"I even prepared next semester's theoretical knowledge for you, but it looks like I'll have to use them when school starts next semester."

Obito felt a bit uncomfortable. He had experienced similar situations, ideas crafted through deep thought for companions, only to be easily dismissed.

"On second thought, Teacher Mokgetsu, your idea is indeed good; it strengthens speed while increasing theoretical knowledge." Trying to comfort Mokgetsu, Obito's heart wept as he spoke.

Even if it meant doing questions, he couldn't let Teacher Mokgetsu down.

"Youth means more training and more questions!" Might Guy also couldn't bear to see Mokgetsu's sad look and quickly changed his stance, though he started tearing up at the thought of future days.

"Then prepare to start the race," Mokgetsu said, smiling warmly again.

Seeing Mokgetsu's familiar warm smile again, Obito felt a sense of relief and then wanted to slap himself twice.

"Why do I love to respond so much? If I hadn't responded to Teacher Mokgetsu asking about cultivation efficiency at the start, there wouldn't be any problem now," Obito silently cursed in his heart.

But things were as they were; Obito had no choice. Since the race was inevitable, the only thing he could do was minimize his losses during the race.

For every half second exceeding his speed limit, he could reduce five questions; it sounded nice, but breaking speed limits wasn't that simple.

However, reaching the finish line first could reduce thirty questions in one go, the biggest reduction without necessarily breaking speed limits.

Obviously, what Obito could think of, Might Guy could as well. Whoever reached the finish line first would be the most comfortable.

The two looked at each other, seeing endless determination in each other's eyes.

There wasn't just a desire for victory; there was also fear of the questions.

Mokgetsu first outlined the running route and endpoint for the two, then positioned himself where they could both clearly hear his voice.

"Ready, go!" Mokgetsu shouted.

Upon hearing Mokgetsu's start command, Obito burst out at full speed without looking back, using every ounce of energy he had.
