[Disciple Uchiha Shisui has diligently cultivated and achieved perfect scores in the academic assessment, earning the following reward: Chakra +300, Ninjutsu Proficiency Scroll]
[Disciple Might Guy has diligently cultivated and achieved excellent scores in the academic assessment, earning the following reward: Chakra +250]
[Disciple Uchiha Obito has diligently cultivated and achieved good scores in the academic assessment, earning the following reward: Chakra +200]
After settling the rewards for the end-of-term exams, Mokgetsu's total Chakra increased once again.
[Name: Habu Mokgetsu]
[Chakra: 12050]
"It seems only by being first in both can one get a Skill Scroll as a reward," Mokgetsu thought as he looked at the three reward notifications from the system.
Besides Shisui, who's the top of his year and can't improve further, the rewards for Might Guy and Obito are slightly higher than last time.
Last time, both Might Guy and Obito only received 150 Chakra as a reward; this time Might Guy gained an extra 100 Chakra, and Obito an extra 50 Chakra.
Might Guy and Obito have indeed made significant progress, not only in actual combat but also in their theoretical scores, which have improved considerably, reaching scores above fifty.
Although Ninjutsu Proficiency Scrolls are good stuff, Mokgetsu has no intention of letting Might Guy and Obito spend too much time on theoretical studies to achieve full marks.
Because their learning efficiency is just too low.
Despite Mokgetsu frequently giving them focused tutoring, Might Guy and Obito only scored a little over fifty, while Anko could easily get full marks.
For Might Guy and Obito to achieve full marks, Mokgetsu feels he would have to halt all training and personally conduct classes, making them study books and tackle problems every day for it to be possible.
But doing so isn't worthwhile; it's better to train normally and get stronger sooner, bringing more rewards to Mokgetsu.
"Hehe, Teacher Mokgetsu, about that reward you mentioned earlier..." After lecturing the two troublemakers, Anko walked up to Mokgetsu somewhat bashfully.
"You have the nerve to ask for a reward despite declining!" Mokgetsu tapped Anko's forehead with his fingers.
"Come on, I still ranked second in the year for the practical exam, Shisui's just too overwhelmingly strong to beat," Anko tried to muddle through.
"I was referring to your theory score going down; it's two points lower than last time," Mokgetsu pointed out, having a crystal-clear memory of everyone's scores in the class.
"Ah, it's all Kotetsu and Izumo's fault," Anko blamed, feeling like giving each of those two slackers a punch for fooling her into thinking she didn't need to review.
"Here, eat up, but there won't be any next time if you fall behind again," Mokgetsu ultimately gave Anko the dango she desperately wanted.
He had bought them on his way to school, enough for everyone in the class.
"Teacher Mokgetsu is the best!" Anko praised Mokgetsu's greatness after accepting the dango.
The atmosphere in Class 1-A was pretty good; after seeing their scores and receiving their test papers, they didn't leave but stayed to chat in the classroom until midday.
In the afternoon, Mokgetsu went to the lecture hall along with other teachers to attend a meeting.
Ninja Academy teachers also hold meetings, not too often, and this one mainly aimed to summarize this semester's teaching work and announce the list of outstanding teachers.
For Mokgetsu, this meeting wasn't of much significance; unlike ordinary Ninja School teachers, he's not interested in being an outstanding teacher or the bonus.
However, unexpectedly, the Third Hokage showed up at this meeting.
According to Iketani Isamu and Ueda Aya, this meeting is usually held by the head of the teachers' team.
"Lord Third," Mokgetsu greeted the Third Hokage respectfully.
The Third Hokage glanced at Mokgetsu with a smile and nodded.
As he wasn't too busy recently, the Third Hokage had a look at Class 1-A's scores, and it was quite a shock.
The last results were already unique in the Ninja School, yet Class 1-A's exam scores turned out even better this time.
The average theoretical score reached an astounding eighty-one, which in other classes would be considered excellent; essentially, everyone in Class 1-A was outstanding.
The average score for practical exams was twenty-four, also an exaggerated number, given that the typical class scored around sixteen.
The Third Hokage noticed upon closer look that Class 1-A scored extremely high in all ninja aspects, with no student scoring below eight, followed by the seal scores.
Having cultivated such an outstanding class and having not appeared at a school meeting for a while, the Third Hokage decided to visit himself.
Perhaps because of the Third Hokage's presence, the meeting proceeded quickly and without any incidents.
"Let me now read the list of outstanding teachers for this term, Habu Mokgetsu..."
Mokgetsu's name was the first to be called.
"Teacher Mokgetsu, as expected of you," Ueda Aya quietly congratulated him.
Though Mokgetsu felt no internal ripple of excitement, he responded with a gentle smile to the colleagues' congratulations.
"Iketani Isamu."
"I've become an outstanding teacher too!" Iketani Isamu expressed surprised delight.
The students in Iketani Isamu's class had taken the top two spots in the grade, so he suspected he might become an outstanding teacher, but actually getting it was still very surprising for him.
This was an outstanding teacher award, with only four granted each semester, and he had never received it despite teaching for several years.
"Damn, why didn't any of my students have a sudden burst," Kimura Sugihito muttered enviously.
He wasn't envious of Mokgetsu winning outstanding teacher, as he would find it strange if Mokgetsu weren't one.
But Iketani Isamu's level? It was definitely Might Guy and Obito's contribution!
"Even though you complained about Might Guy and Uchiha Obito being the class's underachievers, this outstanding teacher award is entirely due to them," Ueda Aya also expressed envy.
When Iketani Isamu took over Class 2-B in their fourth year, everyone was comforting him, yet this last term had such a turnaround.
"I was blind to the true geniuses," Iketani Isamu admitted he underestimated Might Guy and Obito.
"When the bonus comes, drinks are on me. Teacher Mokgetsu, you must come; this outstanding teacher award is partly thanks to you," Iketani Isamu said with a big smile, as Mokgetsu had subbed for him many times.
"I'll join if I can," Mokgetsu nodded with a smile.
"I must take a moment to commend Teacher Habu; under his guidance, the students of Class 1-A achieved phenomenal results," Sarutobi Hiruzen began to speak.
Sarutobi Hiruzen then read out the various scores of Mokgetsu's class, indicating that everyone should learn from successful teachers like Mokgetsu to better cultivate the next generation for Konoha.
After being praised by the Third Hokage, Mokgetsu felt the eyes of every teacher in the room on him, but possibly due to his good standing, he did not sense any malicious or jealous glares; everyone seemed good-natured.
"Mokgetsu, you've done well; keep it up," after the meeting, Sarutobi Hiruzen patted Mokgetsu on the shoulder to encourage him.
"Lord Third, I will teach my students to the best of my ability," Mokgetsu echoed what he'd said in the principal's office.
The Third Hokage laughed heartily upon hearing this, seeming in a good mood.
The end of the meeting also signaled the start of the holiday for Mokgetsu and the other teachers.
Neither achieving outstanding teacher status nor being praised by the Third Hokage moved Mokgetsu, but the fact that Might Guy hadn't triggered a cultivation task these past few days somewhat puzzled him.
Mokgetsu discreetly inquired and discovered that Might Guy hadn't yet had his clash with Kakashi, which finally put his mind at ease.
Kakashi seemed to be off on a mission, so Might Guy hadn't been able to find him these days.
And with the formal onset of the holiday, Mokgetsu shared his holiday training plans with his disciples.
