"Holiday special training huh, it's finally here." Obito took a deep breath, as if he could already foresee the tragic experiences of the next month and a half.
At least during school there were five days of classes to buffer this time when it's a long holiday, every day is like the weekend.
Obito just hoped that the combat training could return to its previous state, or else with over two hundred additional problems a day, his life would end when the holidays were over.
Hearing about special training, Might Guy's eyes lit up, but remembering the extra problems on weekends, he felt immense pressure.
Shisui's expression didn't change at all, unlike Might Guy and Obito, he had already mastered the Shadow Clone technique and had his clones attend school for him.
Except for going to exams once, Shisui basically spent all his time training with Teacher Mokgetsu.
So even if Mokgetsu said that the holidays should be like weekends every day for training, it made no difference to his usual routine.
"You will rest on Thursdays and Sundays, and on other days, come train with me in the morning and afternoon, you can go home for lunch. If you don't go home, I'll cook." Mokgetsu said.
Though they would come to Mokgetsu's place every day during school, from Monday to Friday there really wasn't much time to train there except for weekends.
So even if the holidays were five days of training with two days of rest, the actual training time was still much more than when it was school time.
"Two days off per week!" Obito exclaimed with surprise.
He did the math and realized this seemed easier than school.
In school, Monday to Friday required classes, plus training with Mokgetsu, and training all day with Mokgetsu on the weekends.
"Additionally, we'll suspend combat training. Obito, continue training your Fire Attribute Chakra Nature Changes, while Shisui and Guy will learn Soru with me." Mokgetsu announced their new holiday training plan.
During the young ninjutsu competition training tasks, Obito had trained Nature Transformation for a while, but he had only grasped the basics and still needed to continue training.
Obito didn't have Naruto's kind of cheat-like vitality and chakra, and couldn't use the Multi-Shadow Clone Cultivation Method, so he could only progress incrementally.
"No combat training needed!"
If having two days off made Obito happy, then pausing combat training made him thoroughly enjoy the long holiday.
Without combat training, there wouldn't be tons of problems. Though training Nature Transformation was tiring, he preferred it to solving problems.
After the training tasks were assigned, the students began their respective training.
Obito was holding a big ice block, continuously releasing chakra, while Shisui and Might Guy were learning Soru with Mokgetsu.
Watching Mokgetsu flash around with Shisui and Might Guy, Obito felt the chill of the ice block flow from his hands to his heart.
"Teacher Mokgetsu, what about the Taijutsu challenge you mentioned before? I also want to learn Instant Body Jutsu." Obito couldn't help but ask.
He remembered that Mokgetsu said, besides getting first in the year, completing the Taijutsu challenge he set would also allow one to learn Soru.
However, at that time Mokgetsu directly said that Obito couldn't complete it, so he didn't ask for the specific challenge.
But after a month, his strength had greatly improved, and he might be able to complete Mokgetsu's challenge.
"The Taijutsu challenge, huh? It's very difficult, are you sure you want to try it?" Mokgetsu split off a shadow clone to converse with Obito.
"But everyone's learning Instant Body Jutsu, if I don't learn it, I'll fall behind." Obito said.
"Alright then, I'll set up the grounds today, and you can try it tomorrow." Mokgetsu nodded and said.
Obito's actions were within his predictions.
The reason why he didn't directly teach Soru to all the students but set conditions was to conduct intensive training for the one who failed.
Rather than forcing the training, he thought it would be better to find ways to motivate the students.
He would set up some devices that couldn't be completed without sufficient speed and strength. When the time came, Obito would definitely push himself hard to train his body in order to learn Soru.
Once the challenge was completed and his body strengthened, learning Soru would be easier.
Moreover, the reward gained through one's own efforts would make Obito study more earnestly, after all, it comes hard-won.
In order for the students to better enhance their strength, Mokgetsu considered everything, including the students' psychology.
After the training ended, Mokgetsu, as usual, went to his house in the main district.
Today, he made sushi and tempura.
However, during the meal, a small incident occurred. While the three were eating and chatting happily, the call of a hawk was heard from outside.
"Why now?" Kushina, having just finished eating a piece of sushi, was somewhat displeased.
"Let's go, it must be something important with such suddenness." Minato stood up and said.
"Sorry, Mokgetsu, we have to excuse ourselves for now, an emergency Jonin meeting is being convened."
Whenever something major happened in Konoha, a ninja beast would be dispatched to notify the Jonin urgently, and this wasn't Minato's first experience.
"Mokgetsu, remember to save some for us, meetings like these usually don't last long. With Minato's speed, we'll be back soon." Kushina didn't forget to ask Mokgetsu to save some food before heading out the door.
"I can't finish it all by myself anyway." Mokgetsu smiled and nodded, wondering in his heart what important matter might have occurred.
Based on the timeline, Mokgetsu guessed it must be related to the Third Ninja War.
"Is the war about to break out in full swing?" Mokgetsu thought.
Kushina and Minato didn't make Mokgetsu wait long, as they returned in less than half an hour.
"I thought it was something major, but it turns out the Third Kazekage from the Hidden Sand has disappeared." Kushina complained upon entering.
"With such an urgent convening of the Jonin meeting, someone who didn't know better might think the Third Hokage of Konoha had gone missing."
Hearing Kushina's words, Mokgetsu thought to himself that the war was indeed about to break out.
The Hidden Cloud Village, having accumulated sufficient strength, was already restless, and with the Third Kazekage disappearing at this time, the Hidden Cloud wouldn't miss such a good opportunity.
"No matter which Kage disappears, it has a significant impact on the Ninja World landscape. The sudden disappearance of the Third Kazekage probably implies a major war will break out." Unlike Kushina, Minato's expression was a bit serious.
"True, the Hidden Sand is in for it this time." Kushina nodded, taking a big bite of sushi.
Listening to their conversation, Mokgetsu felt a subtle mix of emotions.
No one would have expected that the Third Ninja War, triggered by the disappearance of the Third Kazekage, would end up with Konoha being ganged up on the worst, although they eventually won.
With the war on the cusp of erupting, Mokgetsu felt even more insecure.
He could only say that fortunately, he's a secret agent within Root. Even if Danzo had a brain freeze and was going to send his subordinates, he'd be among the last batch to go.
Mokgetsu didn't harbor even a glimmer of hope towards Danzo.
He only hoped to raise his strength to the so-called Kage Level before the flames of war reached Konoha.
In this dangerous world, strength is the most important thing, and without it, everything else is just a hollow dream.
