Vampire Lady, whose prototype is said to be based on an ancient legend.
There's a tale that describes her as a vampire who attacks men while they sleep during the Middle Ages, silently joining them in bed as they slumber.
It's hard to say how credible the legend is, but the card image of Vampire Lady is indeed a bed...
Well, of course, this doesn't dampen the gentlemen's enthusiasm to call her their wife.
After all, gentlemen come in various types, and some are just into this kind of thing.
"Vampire Lady, activate effect." Thousand Gold softly said, "Once per turn, when successfully summoned, you can absorb a monster on the field with higher attack strength than herself as Equip Card and gain its attack power."
She gently lifted her hand, pointing towards Youyu's field.
"Absorb 'Elemental Hero Absolute Zero.'
Wickedly smiling, Lady glanced flirtatiously, her eyes lighting up with a red gleam.
As the saying goes, since ancient times, heroes have fallen for beauty's trap. It seemed even the cold Absolute Zero was not immune. His eyes flashed red, his body seemed uncontrollably drawn to the opponent's field, becoming Lady's Equip Card.
"Being absorbed as Equip Card, Vampire Lady's attack power increases by 'Elemental Hero Absolute Zero's original attack power," Thousand Gold said.
[Vampire Lady, ATK 2000 → ATK 4500]
The blood clan's subordinates erupted in cheers.
"Her Majesty's strength is truly unfathomable!"
"A sudden boost to 4500 attack points!"
Ed beside spoke solemnly, "Actually, there's more. Originally, Absolute Zero has a powerful counter ability that destroys all opposing monsters upon leaving the field..."
"But if absorbed instead of being defeated, this effect doesn't apply." Asuka added.
Thousand Gold continued, "Moreover, with the reduction of different monster attributes on your field, remaining Heroes will have decreased attack power."
[Vision Hero Adoration, ATK 3400 → ATK 3200]
[Elemental Hero Sunrise, ATK 3100 → ATK 2900]
"Battle Phase," Vampire Fraulein raised her small hand, "Attack 'Elemental Hero Sunrise' with 'Vampire Lady!'
The priority target is Sunrise. If other Heroes engage in battle first, one card on the opponent's field can be destroyed. But if Sunrise is attacked first, this ability cannot be triggered.
With Absolute Zero's power absorbed, the strength reversal is immediate. Sunrise is no match for Lady, shattered with a single hit as its crimson armor and body fall apart.
[Youyu, LP 4000 → LP 2400]
This really hurts. The crimson impact, with Absolute Zero's freezing power, felt like countless icy needles piercing his muscles and bones, his body knocked back a bit.
But he quickly steadied himself by slightly bending over, patting his shirt as he casually stood.
Vampire Lady licked her bloodless lips, observing Youyu with interest, "I like your face.
When you lose, I might consider making you part of my collection."
"Sorry, but you're not my type," Youyu smiled.
She seemed to want to say more, but her master clearly wasn't planning to give her the chance.
"Next, 'Vampire Scarlet Scourge,'" she continued ordering, "attack 'Vision Hero Adoration.'
Scarlet Scourge, commanded, instantly turned into a shadow and flew forward, with a haunting laugh, extending its arms towards Adoration.
"Due to Sunrise being destroyed, Adoration's attack power reverts," Thousand Gold said.
[Vision Hero Adoration, ATK 3200 → ATK 2800]
"But still the Heroes have higher attack power!" Xiang exclaimed.
Immediately Thousand Gold followed up, "In this instant, activate my effect—'Vampire Fraulein.'
When Undead-Type monsters battle opposing monsters, pay Life Points in multiples of 100, and convert them into monster's attack power. Payment limit is 3000 points."
The Thousand Gold on the field slowly spun the little umbrella in her hand, eyes emitting a scarlet eerie glow.
"I pay 2000 Life Points," Thousand Gold said, "All of it converts into 'Vampire Scarlet Scourge's attack power!"
[Vampire Fraulein, LP 3100 → LP 1100]
Pale red light enveloped Thousand Gold, as if her blood turned mist drawn out from her petite body. She hummed softly, her body swayed, making her already paper-white face even whiter.
[Vampire Scarlet Scourge, ATK 2200 → ATK 4200]
Yet such great sacrifice had immediate effect. Scarlet Scourge tore through Adoration's body with a single swipe, blood-red impact rushing towards Youyu.
"Open Set Card," Youyu's backfield turned over, "Trap Card 'Defense Wall', make battle damage 0, then draw one card from Deck."
The damage exchanged by sacrificing life was blocked by the milky white barrier, causing her to lightly frown, raising her small hand again, "Then I have 'Shadow Vampire,' direct attack."
The rock-like vampire lumbered forward, its pitch-black fist struck heavily.
"At this moment, discard 'Destiny Hero Dynatag' from hand, activate effect." Youyu sent a card to graveyard, "Change monster's battle damage to 0, then both players receive 1000 points of damage!"
The image of Destiny Hero appeared like a shield before the vampire, its heavy smash clashing with the transparent shield, sparks flying.
Lava-like patterns quickly spread across Destiny Hero, exploding like a mine, the shock of explosion simultaneously passing over both players.
[Youyu, LP 2400 → LP 1400]
[Vampire Fraulein, LP 1100 → LP 100]
Clearly holding the upper hand, yet this punch brought Thousand Gold's life points to dangerous levels instead.
"Her Majesty!" Many observing vampires couldn't help but panic for her.
But Vampire Fraulein only knelt briefly, then stood up tottering back—it's hard to believe such resilience was contained in such a small body.
It's not over yet.
She still had 100 Life Points remaining, which was enough.
As long as there's breath, she's still the queen of this realm.
"I... I set two Set Cards."
She inserted all remaining cards, projecting two Set Card images on either side of her small black boots.
"Turn ends."
