The moment I stepped inside, i felt it. Not just the cold, not just the silence. The system was stronger here and deeper, like the entire structure was built around it.
Eden stirred and the third core pulsed in response, not defensive, not afraid and recognizing.
My breath caught.
"He built this around the core…"
DARIAN POV (Point of view)
I didn't take my eyes off Voss.
"Don't move too far," I said quietly to her.
She nodded faintly, but I could already tell... that part of her was somewhere else.
Inside the system, connected and llistening.
Voss watched her like he expected it, like this was exactly how it was supposed to happen.

"You can feel it, can't you?" Voss said.
His voice was calm and controlled.
"Yes," I answered.
"Good."
He stepped aside slightly.
"Then you already understand more than they do."
Darian's voice cut in immediately.
"She doesn't understand anything you've done."
