ADANNA POV (Point of view)
The warehouse was quiet, but the silence was heavy, like the air itself was holding its breath. My body still trembled from the closeness with Darian, yet my mind raced back to Kade who wasn't far. I could feel it in the pulse of Eden beneath my palms, in the faint hum that now thrummed in my veins.
"Something's wrong," I whispered, voice tight. Eden's glow beneath my fingers sharpened, flickering in warning. The metallic tang of fear cut through the warm, post-intimacy haze, and I snapped upright, scanning the shadows.
Darian followed my movement instantly, gun drawn, eyes narrowing. "I felt it too," he said, low and urgent. "He's here."
The sound of footsteps, careful and deliberate, echoed through the pier outside.
Not many but trained and focused. Kade's men, moving like ghosts, searching, hunting. Eden pulsed faster, almost frantic, vibrating beneath my touch as if it could sense the predator before us.
