Chapter 38 - 38

It was another uneventful night, and evil slowly spread in the darkness.

After Peter got off the subway, he rushed home impatiently.

However, Peter wasted a lot of time doing experiments in the lab.

Running all the way, Peter was not far from home; he would arrive in one or two more blocks.

Suddenly, Peter stopped, realizing he had just passed a pharmacy.

"Oh, right, I forgot I needed to buy medicine for Aunt Mei."

Peter could only turn back, preparing to buy the medicine from the pharmacy he had just missed.

As Peter was about to buy the medicine, he noticed that Bandits in a small shop next door seemed to be engaged in a Zero-Dollar Purchase.

Such a scene was not uncommon in this city.

Peter hesitated, encountering such a situation. Normally, he would definitely stop them.

However, because he had overlooked the time, Aunt Mei was still waiting for him, waiting for her medicine.

"Such things are not uncommon, and I can't stop everything from happening."

"Perhaps the shop owner can handle it."

While Peter was momentarily stunned, the Bandit had already completed his Zero-Dollar Purchase and rushed out of the shop.

Peter stood there, staring blankly at the scene.

The shop owner rushed out, "Hey, stop him!"

While Peter was stunned, the Bandit had already changed direction, ran across the street, and gone to the other side.

"Hey, what the hell? Why didn't you stop him?"

The shop owner questioned Peter loudly, but Peter couldn't be bothered and turned to go to the pharmacy to buy medicine.

The shop owner had no choice but to continue his pursuit… The Bandit reached the other side, preparing to escape.

While the Bandit was fleeing in a panic, he didn't notice Aunt Mei and crashed directly into her.

Aunt Mei was knocked to the ground, and the Bandit fell, his money and items scattering everywhere, even a handgun falling out.

Aunt Mei had already guessed what happened; this person must have committed a Zero-Dollar Purchase.

"You can't do this."

The Bandit got up, muttering curses as he picked up his things, "Damn it, you're blocking my way, you know that?"

The shop owner caught up but panicked when he saw the Bandit pick up the handgun.

Could he still pursue him?

Was his life more important, or the money?

The shop owner could only back down and retreat.

But Aunt Mei had no intention of backing down.

"If you have difficulties, there are other ways; doing this is wrong."

The Bandit, blocked by Aunt Mei, was instantly enraged and pointed the gun at her.

Aunt Mei still wanted to persuade him, but the Bandit was already impatient and chose to fire.

A gunshot pierced the quiet night sky.

The shop owner couldn't help but look back, but he was more afraid of the Bandit causing him trouble.

Others heard the commotion and dared not move.

Peter had just entered the pharmacy, preparing to buy medicine, when he heard a gunshot nearby.

Peter looked out the door, in the direction of the gunshot.

Peter's heart began to waver, "No way? Could it be that person from the Zero-Dollar Purchase earlier?"

"Because I didn't stop him, he hurt someone?"

Peter had already started to regret it. He didn't stop at the pharmacy entrance and immediately rushed over, preparing to save the person.

When Peter arrived, he saw a familiar figure lying on the ground.

Peter was incredibly familiar with those clothes.

Peter couldn't believe it, "No, no, no."

"Aunt Mei, it can't be true."

Peter rushed to Aunt Mei like a madman, looking at her injuries, and self-reproach flooded his mind.

"If I had come home earlier, Aunt Mei wouldn't have had to come out to buy medicine herself."

"If I had stopped that Bandit earlier, Aunt Mei wouldn't have been shot."

"If…"

Peter frantically contacted emergency services, but the ambulance would still take some time to arrive.

Peter could only scream heartbreakingly, asking for help from those around him, "Help! Help!"

However, the empty street became even quieter because of the gunshot.

Aunt Mei saw that it was Peter who had arrived and, holding on to her last breath, said, "Peter, don't blame yourself."

"Remember, be a good person."

"As your Uncle Ben always said, with great power comes great responsibility."

Peter cried bitterly, but no one could help him.

Su Yi teleported outside Mary Jane's house, then, following the gunshot and Peter's cries, quickly swung over.

"Damn it, this system's side quest choices are too outrageous, aren't they?"

"I even teleported here, and it was still too late."

Su Yi couldn't care less about that now and landed in front of Peter.

He glanced over and saw Aunt Mei's injuries.

"Fortunately, it's just the abdomen, not the head or heart."

Peter immediately reacted, looking at the Spider Bully in front of him, "What are you going to do?"

"I can save her."

Peter had no choice but to trust Su Yi.

Su Yi took out the bottle of Water of Life, and a drop of Water of Life dripped into her mouth.

"Is this really Aunt Mei?"

"She's too young and too beautiful, isn't she?"

"Even more stunning than Aunt Mei in the Movie Universe."

"I'm not Cao Cao!"

"Moreover, Peter and I are classmates, we are friends."

Su Yi's mind suddenly recalled a few films, "My Classmate's XX" and "My Friend's XX."

"Hiss, it's even more exciting."

"I can't keep thinking about this, save her first, saving people is important."

After feeding her the Water of Life, Su Yi controlled the Symbiote Suit to form fine threads at his fingertips, which drilled into the wound and extracted the bullet.

"She'll be fine; the wound will heal very quickly."

"However, it's best not to expose the recovery of her injury, or it will be very troublesome."

To Peter's astonishment, the wound on Aunt Mei's body had already stopped bleeding and even begun to heal.

"This is too miraculous, isn't it?"

"I'll come to you tonight."

Su Yi did not leave, preparing to advance the progress tonight.

"Sigh, the system only asked me to guide Peter to become Spider-Man, but why do I feel like it's asking me to become Spider-Man's godfather?"

Su Yi arrived at Mary Jane's house, outside Mary Jane's window… On the other side, Peter took Aunt Mei home before the ambulance arrived.

Peter canceled the ambulance and focused on waiting for Aunt Mei to wake up.

After a while, she had already regained consciousness.

"Aunt Mei, are you okay?"

"What happened? I seemed to hear you talking to someone, and then I just felt a very comfortable sensation."

"How am I at home?"

Peter explained, "Someone saved you."

"Your wound has already scabbed over; it recovered so quickly."

"I'm sorry, Aunt Mei."

"I should have come back earlier, and that Bandit, I had a chance to stop him, but I didn't."

Aunt Mei heard Peter's self-reproach and quickly advised, "It's good that you realized your mistake. You can correct it in the future; don't live in self-blame."

"If you keep living in self-blame, it will ruin your life."

Peter was very grateful to the suddenly appearing Spider Bully; if it weren't for him, Aunt Mei would surely have died.

At that time, he would have no relatives left and would only live in eternal regret.

He didn't know that the Spider Bully he was grateful to was Su Yi.

Meanwhile, Su Yi quietly crept into Mary Jane's room, secretly expressing his longing for her.
