White, white was all he could see, or atleast perceive. No matter where he turned, all he could see was blinding white light. He couldn't even see his own body as if he was engulfed by the bright light.
"Hello young man." The voice echoed through the endless white, a stark of difference in what he was experiencing till now.
If he could, he would have laughed to himself, imagine not remembering anything about what happened just a few moments ago and then hearing a random old man's voice.
Nevertheless he tried to communicate with the voice.
"Umm hello mr..." He tried to be polite, not knowing who he was speaking to.
"You can think of me as a kind of God. Not the god god or ultimate ruler, but you get it. Basically Kami-sama, Rob, or Anything else you humans refer to as god in your works of fiction. Such things like Names are prevail to us."
God? god themselves had come to talk with him? damn he was sure going crazy. Might as well brag about it to anyone he sees later, that is if he can get out of this endless white prison.
Racking his brain and thinking of how to address the entity who revealed themselves as god, he found and appropriate word to call them.
"I'll stick with old man then."
"...Really?"
"Yep" He answered with a layed back tone.
The entity took on the form of an old man, not minding the boy's antics "Well if it makes you comfortable then you can call me old man."
"So am I dead? there's no other reason for you to talk to me unless I'm dead right? Now that I'm dead, will you be sending me to hell or heaven? that is if they even exist."
"They do exist and based on your life I will probably send you to heaven, if we ignore a few minor deeds. you can also be reincarnated into another world or the same world based on your luck and Karma."
"Before that can you tell me how I died?" He asked, curious about his death.
"It was quite an interesting scene to say. You were at a tournament dedicated to a certain card game, and you made your opponent rage quit. And you can guess what happened after that, right?"
"Ah, now that I think about it, I do remember such a thing happening." He then brushed that matter aside and asked his second question "Is heaven a cool place?"
"I can't say whether it's Cool, fun or amusing, but do know that anything you want is always prepared for you."
"Then it must be a pretty boring place."
"Why you say that young one?" The Old man asked, curious about the boy's answer.
"There would be no fun if anything I want is prepared for me and I won't have to work for it, think of it as a gacha game, you play it and find it amusing because you work hard in it to get characters, but if they already give everything to you then it wouldn't be fun."
"I see. Then you would like the Reincarnation option?"
Aha! There we go, the cliché reincarnation method, guess now I'm a fanfiction main character. cool.'
"Yes if it's possible."
"It is possible. First, I will check your karma to see if you can get any benefits or perks for your next life."
The old man then snapped his fingers and a screen appeared Infront of us which showed my life, well it did exclude some parts that were unique which I'm thankful for it.
"You were a good son, Brother, Student and a human being. The only dark thing about you that I could see is your love for making your opponents rage quit."
"Hahaha, what can I say, I just like spreading the joy of dueling with people. As for the good student and family thing, it's perk of having an Asian parents. Now what?"
"From what I've seen I think you deserve to choose which world you want your next life to start, plus some abilities, your age appearance and a few things."
I get to choose the world? That's neat. Now which world should I choose? DXD would sound like a good and bad option at the same time, too many bs in it, and the only good thing it has are the waifus. As a cultured person It wouldn't be a bad option for me.
There is also MHA, I could have a cool quirk, Nah screw this idea too, there are too many people with hero complex there which would make it annoying.
AOT, Akame ga kill, and other worlds like them are a no go as they are dark and dangerous, with death as it's main background. Like how am I supposed to survive these and have fun at the same time?
Naruto? Nope, never, No hate but just hearing naruto voice and him simping for Emo boy sasuke and trying to talk senses to him for few arcs is too much annoying. Also there is the Legend himself, Madara. Watching him in anime would be cool but seeing him in action and up close is literally courting for death.
Any Cultivation world is also a no go, jade beauties? sure they are good, but to constantly hear the sentence "You're courting death, do you know who my master is?" and so on, these kinds of sentences will kill my brain.
Anime worlds which are only centred on mc are also not a good choice as the bs and plot armour in it is too much, and sometimes unbeatable.
There are also normal worlds like Cote with the goat himself Ayanogod. But there are too many geniuses there and there is no super power which would make it different from my previous life.
Honestly all of these were for word count, because both I and the author knew which world I'm choosing.
Yu-Gi-Oh!
A Japanese franchise with a big fanbase, cool illustrations for cards, and more importantly making others learn the joy of the game through rage quitting.
A solid choice for me, why? Because everything revolves around card games, duel monsters to be specific.
In the world of Yu-Gi-Oh, Everything is solved through Duels. Like literally even if an alien comes there to destroy the world you can beat him by using card games. Pretty efficient If you ask me. Worst case scenario I have to lookout for shadow games.
After pondering about it for a few more minutes, I looked at the old man and gave my answer.
"Yes I will choose Yu-Gi-Oh!Arc-V as my destination.
"Why there? Why not the other seasons of the anime?"
Well... original duel monsters which are Yugi's era are kind of boring and don't have a concrete set of rules. You could bullshit your way to attack the moon and crush it with a stone warrior because why not. Also it lacks other summoning methods.
GX was also my favourite due to the main character being the goat himself, Jade Yuki. Bro had the most number of duels and wins among any other protagonist and the best character development throughout the season. That being said I still wouldn't go there because like the original, it lacks other summoning methods.
5ds can be said to have the most competent cast and allies for the main character, yusei fudo. Like literally in any other seasons the characters around the main character were only hindrances to his path. Gx was awful, especially with that annoying twerp being Syrus.
Zexal, had my least favourite protagonist. There is also the problem of numbers, the cards that can't be destroyed unless you have a number card. Getting one wouldn't be hard, but keeping it was. At the end I had to give it to astral so he can regain his memory.
Lastly, Arc-V. Oh boy what a disaster it was near the end. The ending was completely awful, they did many characters dirty, especially shun who lost his sister and best friend. Same for other Yu boys and bracelet girls. Not to forget, if I go there I have access to all summoning methods.
Vrains... tragic but done well. Still wouldn't go there because I think I'm more needed in Arc-v. That being said, I might try to bring link monsters to Arc-v, just for fun.
Forget about seasons because it's a disgrace to the franchise. Ah right, all this time I've been thinking to myself.

"No worries, I could read your thoughts. If it's your choice then I have nothing against it. As for your abilities, I have checked the world and decided to give you a Master Duel System. You can create your appearance by signing in to the system."
Master duel system? like the master Duel game itself? Oh boy Arc-V is cooked.
"And how do I summon the system?" I asked, eager to try it.
"Just imagine a screen appearing in front of you or any command that would work for it on your mind."
I did as I was told by old man and imagined a Blue screen Infront me, and the result was that I didn't get disappointed and the screen did indeed appear.

"Yeah sure." After I said that I felt a tingle throughout my whole body and then another notification popped up.

"Nah I would figure it out on my own." Like who ever paid attention to guides in games? discovering everything by yourself is the true joy.
I then clicked on the profile icon which led me to another screen.

I clicked on the skills option as it was the one that took my curiosity.

Would have been OP ability in DXD or magic based worlds, not like it's useless here.
"Then show me a list of all skills."
The system did as I said and showed a list that contained skills of every character like Joey, Kaiba and people from other Seasons except the sevens and others after it, guess even the system acknowledged that show isn't part of the franchise.
well it is understandable as it is a failure of show for all the people that had their childhood made from the shows before it. Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens was truly an insult to all yugioh fans if you ask me.
I scrolled up and down to see the skills that may catch my eye, and boy there was too many skills.
After a while I finally decided on skills I want.
[Three skills have been chosen. The selected skills are:
1. Natural genius(Kaiba,Ryoken Kogami): As the name suggests, the user will be a genius at everything he does, which includes dueling, programming, etc.
2. Psychic powers(Akiza Izinski): this psychic power allows the user to have the power to bring duel monsters to life and inflict real damage to people. The user may also have a slight chance to see the spirit of monster cards.
3. Barian's Chaos Draw (Nash) (Altered): The user uses the power of barians to draw a card of their choice from their deck. Can only be used if your life points are under 1000. Note: this skill can be used once per duel.
Master cannot change the skills once they are chosen. May I proceed?]
These skills where the good ones, unfortunately I couldn't find Joey's luck in the skills, guess luck doesn't count as skill. What a shame.Still the Barian's chaos draw is the closest thing I can get to a plot armour, so might as well take it.
The reason for choosing other skills were simple, while I was confident in myself as a platinum rank player in the master duel, having the skills of seasoned duelists such as Kaiba and Ryoken would be beneficial.
Psychic powers are also needed since not everything gets solved without violence, in fact violence is the answer in some cases.
"Yes."
Now lets check the appearance option.
[The user can create their own appearance by using the already premade options and changing their design, or can choose from an already existing character that does not exist in the world you choose.]
So I can't choose anyone from Arc-V but the other seasons are ok. Hmm should I go with one of the protagonists? Being Yugi, literally the king of games would be Badass.

"Bruh." What a big letdown. Taking over the Arc-V series as the king of games would have been cool.
If not the protagonist then I should go for their Rivals. But the Problem is who to choose, they all are cool and respectable characters, Kaiba, Zane, Jack, Reginald castle Aka Shark and lastly Ryoken. The system probably wouldn't let me choose Jack or kaito as both of them are also in Arc-V. Well that's two options eliminated.
I mean it would be weird and confusing for others if there were two jack atlas's, but then again they couldn't differentiate between Yu boys and bracelet girls.
No hate to Kaiba and Shark, but the most good looking out of all of them is probably Ryoken, so let's choose him. Looks matter alright?

Ah so basically canon is fucked to a certain degree.
After that everything suddenly went blank.
