Anchor, wielded his anchor axe hammer with massive strength. He leaped forward with his weapon, hammering down the golems as if they were nothing.
His overpowering strength broke down the golem's defenses and shattered its core as it crumbled.
Anchor was way faster than Cricket and of course, he was far stronger. The impact of his strikes sent shockwaves through the very ground, each hit reverberating like thunder in the cavernous dungeon.
He swung his hammer with a force that only a seasoned smith could muster, aiming for the crystal cores embedded in the golems' chests. The booming sound of metal against stone echoed through the air as Anchor's relentless assault tested the limits of both his weapon and the golems' defenses.
His strength also fed into part that he was taking down twice the number of mechanical beasts as Cricket. But it wasn't too surprising. He was used to fighting even after quitting the marines, and the last defeat against Crocodile had showed him some flaws in his fighting style.
Along with giving him the motivation he needed to train. With Luffy and the other members of the crew helping him out, it was no wonder he became strong.
A small smile dawned on his face. 'At least my reason for joining them was worth it.' He thought to himself.
After getting beaten by Crocodile and seeing how overpowering the members of the crew had gotten since Sakura Island. He came to realize that if he wanted to be strong, then he needed to join this crew.
The Marines were once an organization that he believed in. But after what had happened, and his removal from his rank, he lost that trust. And with what the Straw Hat pirates had done in the short time they came to be, it really opened him to the prospect of joining the group.
What they did back in the G-3 base was a thing that set them apart from the rest of the pirate crews.
As a former marine he had seen many different types of pirates. While most wanted to harm others, some even went out of their way to help people. Even in the New World where he's from, there were tales about pirates helping people more than the marines.
And so when offered a position to join his crew the second time. Anchor didn't reject the proposal immediately. On one hand one of his goals was fighting for what was right. On the other hand, he wanted to eventually create blades that would make a name for themselves.
So with that in mind. He set some rules that if the Straw Hats followed, then he would join them. Rules such as not killing unjustly or abusing their powers. Usually demanding this level might make most pirate captains reject a new member.
But Luffy accepted it immediately. For him, if he did any of that, the last thing he would need to worry about would be him. With his grandfather being Garp, and his father being the Revolutionary Leader, Dragon, things of that nature would be a given death sentence.
At that time, he hesitated a bit. But still accepted the request to join the crew. It was back in Alabasta. After that he came to find out that Luffy and the crew was actually working quite closely with the Revolutionary Army, and that he was scheming against the World Government.
For some, it would be a red flag, but for Anchor, the respect for Luffy rose even more. It was no wonder why a young man like Coby who also had a good moral compass was following Luffy. Even Zoro, Johnny and Yosaku, who were originally bounty hunters, joined Luffy because of this.
So even though it only had been two weeks since he joined the crew. He was more then happy to be part of the group.
"Tempest Bane!" Anchor yelled, chopping down a large giant golem, and pushing it back towards the others. He jumped away immediately to avoid getting stomped by another golem.
But while he was successful, another golem almost grabbed him mid air with a swing. But to his surprise, an explosion went off, destroying the golem's core. He looked over his shoulder and saw Usopp giving him a thumbs up.
The sniper was struggling to move, but still had some fight left in him. Even Anchor was feeling out of breath, the creatures were endless, and without Sanji, fighting them was getting tough. He looked at where the cook was. Due to the trees and how far Sanji was flung back, he couldn't see him.
It had already been a few minutes, but the cook has yet to show himself. 'He might be knocked out. He might be tough, but at end of the day he's human.' Anchor thought, 'With a weakness like this… he might be in trouble. I need to get him out of that tree…'
He looked over his shoulder towards Cricket. He was getting overwhelmed, he then looked over to Chopper and Bepo. "Oi, ship-doctor, you have to hold these guys off! I will get Sanji!"
Chopper, for his part, was still trying to help Robin and Law but saw no solution to this matter.
Him and Bepo even tried to re-open the tunnels, but they were made out of tougher materials. And unless someone like Sanji came back, going through them would be impossible.
Usopp could help blow it up of course, but they would get harmed as well. So there had to be another way to do it.
He looked at the golems, and knew he had to go all out. He looked over to his fellow mink, "Bepo, you have to take care of them… I have to fight."
Bepo was confused at what Chopper meant. Of course, as minks, all of them were in-born fighters, but the way he said it was a bit too dramatic. 'Why is everyone being dramatic today…? Wait, should I apolozie for being non-dramatic?'
Chopper on the other hand took out a rumble ball, and bit into it.
