Chapter 147 - Chapter 345

345

"That's good and all, but we have to get near the tunnels?" Anchor said, holding his axe-hammer, "I can clear the path…"

"Hold it, old timer." Law said, stepping forward, "Room!"

"Hey! I'm not even thirty…!"

But Law ignored him, and moved his sword, diagonally, cutting down multiple golems and wasps with one swing. But that wasn't all, with his other hand he moved his fingers and telekinetically controlled them to crash with each other, clearing the path.

"Y-You cleared the path?!" Cricket said, looking between the path and him, dumfounded. "Why am I even surprised at this point?!" he said throwing his hands up in air in frustration.

Law just smirked.

Bepo spoke up, "Eh… Law, rather than clearing the path, why didn't you teleport us near the tunnels?"

Law opened his mouth, and then closed it.

"Wait, you can tele…" Usopp couldn't even finish his sentence as all of them suddenly switched places to near the tunnels. Law on the other hand didn't make eye contact, embarrassed that he had forgotten his own ability in mix of showing off.

But it didn't matter, the golems and wasps were confused, before they found their targets again. But by then they were already near the closed tunnel.

"Good! Let's open the tunnels, and get out of here…" just as Usopp finished the sentence, he fell on the floor, weak and without his powers. The circuits on the floor and walls that hummed blue suddenly switched to a red color, filling the area with a constant buzzing sound.

The same thing happened to Sanji, Robin and Usopp, who were all devil fruit users. It was as if they had been stuck in the ocean or been cuffed by seastone. Sanji's body was also thrown around by the golems as they used their maces and rusty sword to fling him at each other. While the wasps attacked him mid-air. Even the golems that Law cut off, and Usopp destroyed, started reforming at a faster rate.

"What's happening to them…?" Anchor asked, as he stood in front of them. The golems, finding no resistance, were running towards them.

"I… I don't know." Bepo said, checking up on Law, trying to help him.

"I think… whatever this sound and red light from the circuit is… I think it's making them react to as if they are cuffed by seastone." Chopper said, quickly deducting from the reactions of the crewmates.

"Yeah… it feels like shit-ya!" Law grunted.

Things just turned for the worst as Sanji's body was thrown to the side, before a larger golem, one that was twice the size of the regular ones, grabbed Sanji's body and fired off a chest beam.

But even in his weakened state, Sanji moved and kicked right before the chest beam could hit him. Destroying the golem, and nearby foes. But due to the massive force, Sanji flew upwards toward the large tree, being lost from view.

For the Straw Hats, they didn't even see what happened to his body, it seemed to just be lost in the thick leaves of the giant tree.

With Sanji gone, the enemy shifted their attention to the remaining members.

"Shit!" Cricket said, before looking at Anchor, "Oi, it seems we have to stand up, weak arms!"

"Tch… you don't have to remind me twice, toothpick user!" Popeye said, holding his anchor axe-hammer. He then looked at Chopper and Bepo, "Try to open up the tunnels… we will hold them off!" he then looked at Cricket, "you take the right, I'll take the left."

Cricket grunted before both of them sprang into action, moving fast. Their weapons poised for battle against the golems.

Cricket, his sword gleaming in the strange ambient light, and his gun ready in his off hand, moved with a calculated grace. He struck with his sword and shot with his gun.

But the golems, even with their larger size, could move around swiftly. Blocking Cricket's attack, while overpowering him in numbers. Each one of them were as big as the Going Merry so it was surprsing that they could move that fast.

'Shit! The cook was making it look easy.' Cricket thought as he dug his heels into the ground, parrying a powerful swing from a golem. It almost made him buckle under the weight, before he took out his gun and shot off multiple bullets at the golem's chest. Destroying its core, as it hunched over.

The descendant of Noland used that chance to grab the falling golem, and threw it towards the other golems, before charging at the group.

As the battle raged on, it became clear that defeating these massive constructs was no small feat. Their stony bodies proved to be incredibly resilient, absorbing the force of the attacks with an almost unnatural durability. It was only through the shattering of their crystal cores that they showed any signs of vulnerability.

Cricket and Anchor quickly learned that destroying the crystals was the key to disabling the golems, if only temporarily. As the crystals shattered, the golems would falter, their stone bodies would crumble.

But after exactly fifteen seconds later, the golems would start reforming. Making the opponents an endless cycle. Still, the pirates were not a group easily defeated.
